During the winter season, Metra passengers who patronize the Hazel Crest Station are subjected to "slippery, cold & wet feet" while attempting to climb stairs and landings that lead to the platform (e.g., thawing snow produces thick ice and hazardous conditions; and heavy rainfall grossly floods the stair landings with stagnant water as high as 2 to 3 inches). Not only are we subjected to personal injury, but also to unhealthy conditions, especially with warmer weather quickly approaching. This type of degradation and neglect would not occur on any other commuter line.

We, the undersigned, call on Metra officials to undertake IMMEDIATE repairs by resolving the faulty and hazardous roofs located at the north and south entrances of Hazel Crest Station. They have increased our fares...now is the time for us to turn up the volume to them to work for us!
