Being a Mortgage Banker we have no contact with appraisers. They can work on their own schedule without any accountability. This needs to change, we have strict timelines and guidelines we have to follow. Why shouldn't the appraiser have the same time frames and schedules. This change would benefit the consumer and the industry as a whole. The appraisal is the key component of a mortgage, its time for this change.
We, the undersigned, call the the Department of Real Estate, to enforce time frames on appraisals. We recommend a 5 day turn time from the date the appraisal had taken place, to delivery to the lender.
