Accident and Medical Emergency Unit need for Ashburton

We the people of Ashburton believe it is time for our own Accident and Medical Emergency unit for the following reasons: high medical costs, poverty, a farming community, the territorial issues between South and Canterbury Hospital Boards, rising cost of ambulance fees, cost of living, a transient population and major shortage of General Practitioners plus high accident rates in the district. We also have and aging population that often put off getting the help they need due to not being able to afford an ambulance.
