Target:
NSW government (Premier Barry O'Farrell)
Region:
Australia

We call on the NSW premier Mr Barry O'Farrell to immediately take measures to abolish the NSW Firearm Registry and remove the requirement for licensed firearm owners in NSW to register their firearms.

Due to circumstances surrounding the inadequate security of the information of over 200,000 licensed firearm holders in the state of NSW, by the NSW Police firearms registry, these citizens have been subject to a large number of violent home invasions the target being their registered firearms.

Government members have highlighted these security concerns to the NSW Police who have denied any wrongdoing on their part however the evidence is there for all to see.

We will petition the NSW Government and in particular the premier Mr Barry O'Farrell to immediately abolish the NSW firearms registry and repeal the requirement in the NSW Firearms Act for a licensed firearm owner to register firearms.

All of this is essential to prevent just one more violent attack on a law abiding firearm owner who deserves the enjoyment of not being a target for criminals due to government incompetence and for them and their families to once again sleep well at night. This current situation is not only dangerous but also unacceptable.

We the undersigned call on you, Premier of the state of NSW, Mr Barry O'Farrell to immediately take measures to abolish the NSW Firearm Registry and remove the requirement for licensed firearm owners in NSW to register their firearms.

This action being neccesary to address the inadequate security measures currently in place by the NSW Police firearms registry to safeguard the personal information of licensed firearm owners in this state evidenced by the large number of targeted, violent attacks on said people.
