Dear Mr. Julian Rodriguez
Dean of the School of Media
London College of Communication

Dear Mr. Rodriguez,

It has come to my attention via various posts on our facebook group and through talking to many of my fellow students, that we need to address some fundamental problems with the ABC Diploma in Photography course.

This petition is for what seem to be the two main issues with the course that need an urgent resolution, as we are a third of the way through the course now and we, the students need your support to get things changed.

Thank you,

James Bryan
Course Representative

We, the undersigned, petition the Dean of the School of Media at London College of Communication to review the so far dissatisfactory practices of the ABC Diploma in Photography course that follow:

1) Lack of Classes/Hours of Tuition per week

• The first 4 weeks, the average was 6 hours per week. Recent weeks between around 8-10. The overall average since the class began in the first week of October has been around 7 hours. Half of what we were promised.

• Two Fridays were nonexistent, and the first two weeks were "inductions"

2) Quality of Classes

• Overcrowded workshops without "hands on" experience (except printing which is limited).

• Chaotic scheduling of classes, sometimes only run twice instead of the usual format of fornightly new classes.

• Questionable value of the Friday classes. Overly long project reviews, that cannot go in depth and exploitation of that time for product sales (Digilab, Calumet, Apple, and now Nikon which has just got cancelled at the last minute and there is no lecture replacing it).
