Before 2008, the 558 (formely known as the 168), serviced the route between Mandurah and Perth. This route, on school days, also deviated via Frederick Irwin Anglican School.

Since the introduction of the Perth-Mandurah railway, this deviation has being scrapped, and our service has being replaced with several school specials deviating via. Mandurah Station from Frederick Irwin. This, however, is most inconvenient. The 558 provided an convenient service from Mandurah to Rockingham, going through the suburbs of Wanbro, Waikiki and Secret Harbour (although Secret Harbour has school special 19, this is a very lengthy service).

Without this service deviating Frederick Irwin, we now opt for the Train, as it is a much quicker option, although this means, for many of us are waiting at our stations for our connecting buses, not making it any quicker at all, and less convenient. This would not be necissary if we were to catch the 558 from Frederick Irwin, which would go along that exact route we require, without having to catch a bus, train and then another bus, not accounting for the waiting time inbetween each service.

We want the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia to re-introduce an afternoon service into Frederick Irwin Anglican School for the benefit of up to 50 students who previously used this service.

The Bring the 558 back to Frederick Irwin School! petition to Public Transport Authority - Government of Western Australia was written by Timothy Holland and is in the category Roads & Transport at GoPetition.
