The signers want to reform the way breaks are scheduled.

Parents students and teachers would like the school vacations restored to two weeks at Easter/Spring and no winter break. Winter break of 2011 was hardly a break for anyone as students still had to attend sports activities and other related school practices during the break.

For parents that work this arrangement made it difficult to plan transportation and childcare for those who needed to work and also prevented families a chance to go away because of school commitments.
