Early on the morning of January 10, 2011, the second winter storm of the season struck the entire state of South Carolina. This storm was also the fourth winter storm in less than year.
While none of the other storms had any effect on schools, this storm was different. This storm resulted in school closings in most of the state, extending for multiple days from Jan. 10.
These days, had they been holidays, the State of South Carolina would have saved massive amounts of money from not running the school bus system, to minimum electricity use.
WE, the undersigned, ask that one or more of the days missed be excused, and that the 2010-2011 school year be shortened accordingly.
Excusing these days will save the State of South Carolina a great sum of money in a time when saving money is paramount for our government.
