I say students should have a right to use there phones during passing time, lunch time, and maybe (depending on the teacher) study hall time. Adults complain about how much trouble students get into sneaking their phones in class yet if they would allow those periods for people to use phones students would less likely use them in class.
It takes the fun out of sneaking it then. Being able to use them also keeps them closer to there family in case of emergencies... For the parent to get a hold of the child it takes a while to get them transfered to the student. Also its not fair that teachers can whip them out to keep in touch with people during class and we can't use them at all. They worry the phones are a bad thing... then what are the computers, ipods, or cameras? They aren't any better because they all have there bad sides.
When I went to a different school where they allowed the phones I noticed people paid more attention in class and the students used there phone less in class.
We, the students, call on to the school board to consider allowing phones during passing, lunch, and maybe studyhall time.
It is unfair that teachers can whip out there phones whenever they want, to keep in contact with people, yet students can't. If teachers can so should we.
