The South Dakota recently changed the driver's license law mandating that driver's must have a U.S. birth certificate in order to obtain or renew their licenses. We believe that change should be repealed.

Help us put this issue on a ballot or persuade our legislators to repeal the change in the law as the present law will encourage those fearing deportation to drive without a license and without insurance. A birth certificate was all that was necessary under the previous law for proof of identity.

We believe the change in the law to the was based on a federal mandate and violates state's rights.

A petition to repeal changes made in the driver's license law requiring drivers to have a U.S. Birth Certificate.

Prior to the change in the law, drivers provided a birth certificate from any country.
