In our American society, it seems as if though we students are trapped in a system. We go to school anywhere from 6-8 hours, Monday-Friday. The stereotypical picture of an american job is a 9am-5pm job in an office, Monday-Friday and a few weeks of paid vacation. However, for the average student, school seems to be just as stressful or overwhelming as a real job.
The one thing that really tips the scale is the fact that in a real job, you get off of work and you are completely done. In school, you get out of class (work) and go home to work some more and also you get assigned work on weekends and breaks. How do some kids handle the pressure? Well some deal with it and don't have time for anything else while others just give it up all together and stop trying.
We, as the student body of Montgomery County Public Schools, call on the Montgomery County Public Schools Board of Education to restrict school work assigned on weekends/vacations and also, for daily workloads to be reduced.
