Update;
Both Cypress and La Palma city have installed full intersection lights. Thank you to all who have supported this cause and without the many people who marched to city hall with us, this would have not been done.
We has a total of 2000+ signatures that we handed over to La Palma City hall and hundreds of voices to stand tall durring the meeting.
Sydney Ella Ramires will always remain in our hearts and minds.

On November 1, 2010 at 6:45am Sydney Ella Ramirez was crossing Crescent street with her friend to attend school. While in the middle of the crosswalk, Sydney was struck by a Vehicle, ending in her passing four days later.
After reviewing the area from 6:30am - 6:30pm each day after, it was found that Sydney death could have been prevented had the proper lighting, flashing lights on west and eastbound of Crescent street and over the street been in place
Per video and pictures we as a community think that the city of La Palma and City of Cypress believing both share responsibility of this crosswalk need to install solid overhead lights, not fade in fade out lighting as it currently stands, street lights that are currently not working be replaced immediately, lights placed in ground flashing in full duration of crosswalk 24 four hours and/or placing flashing warning lights both westbound and eastbound sides of Crescent Street warning drivers of this crosswalk.
The community also petition for trees to be trimmed so that all driver can see signs that are already in place, which are currently obstructed. We as a community asks that this will be completed with in a reasonable time agreed on by both cities and community.
