A Four way stop has been added to the front of The Estates at Plum Hill. this is causing an overflow back-up onto Rt. 177 (Mascoutah Avenue). This is a potentially deadly problem.

After several complaints concerning the new four way stop signs placed at the North Entrance to The Estate at Plum Hill, I have made several calls to determine why it was placed there.

I spoke to the Shiloh Valley Highway Dept. and discovered that one of our residents called and said that it was a safety hazard for children crossing to visit our pool. They were afraid that a child would be hit by passing vehicles. Although this resident had good intentions, they failed to ask other residents what they thought.

The result is a stop sign that backs traffic up on Rt. 177 (Mascoutah Avenue). Several people have complained about having to slow down from 55 mph to 0 mph on 177. Thus causing traffic to divert around cars on this road. In order to rectify the situation, we must have a majority vote on the removal of said stop signs. This process can take several months to get this issue resolved.

We, the undersigned, call on the village of Shiloh, Il and the Highway commission to relocate the North and South Stop signs from the entrance to The Estate at Plum Hill from their current location to the North and south corner of Ashville court.

This will reduce the speed on Plum Grove and will Still allow East /West Traffic to stop at entrance.
