Due to the Stigmas within the military as well as commands and docs who ignore and misdiagnose servicemen and women in the military with mental illnesses; the suicide rate among these individuals in staggering and almost epidemic.

Service members are treated poorly, their conditions all but ignored so they can be kept on the front lines or misdiagnosed so they will not get benefits after discharge. When a service member tries to come forward about their mental illness they are either treated as disciplinary problems or considered a whistle blower, weak or cowardly or their careers are threatened. These stigmas have to stop! Our servicemembers have to feel comfortable getting help so not one more service member dies at their own hands because of the lack of help and understanding they receive from the very government they fought for.

We the undersigned, want to make it unlawful and punishable for any command to interfere, ignore, retaliate or block any service member seeking mental health treatment regardless of where they are stationed, once service member has asked for or shows signs of some sort of mental health issue, the command is to immediately send service member for treatment and or evaluation.
