The occurance of obesity in America is risings and Americans' health are at risk. With fast food chains offering artery clogging burgers and fattening sides at such a low price that any minimum wage earning family has only the unhealthy options to feed their families. Any healthy options on the menu are the most expensive items on the menu - leaving a family of 5 buying dinner on a budget to opt for the unhealthy burgers.
If we could get the fast food chains to alter their pricing to make the healthier options more affordable to lower income americans I believe we would see a decline in american obesity occurances.
If there were a Health Tax applied to all unhealthy items either in grocery stores or at fast food chains to encourage healthier eating habits - this may help lower income americans make healthier purchasing decisions.

We are petitioning for a Healthy Future in America. We would like to see a shift in fast food chains where there are more affordable healthy options available. We find it appalling that a premium salad at a fast food chain costs us $5.00 when a family of 5 can purchase five greasy, fattening, artery clogging burgers for the same price.
We would also encourage a "Health Tax" to be applied to any fattening, calorie dense foods deemed "unhealthy" whether at the grocery store or at a fast food restaurant - as a way to encourage healthier eating habits in America.
We act together in the interest of our future generations whose lives are already being affected by our sedentary lifestyles and poor eating habits.
Please help us make America healthier!
