1. RESPECT GAY RIGHTS - SCRAP THE ANTI-GAY BILL
Addressing an audience of diplomats in Geneva, US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton called for the rights of gay people to be respected.
"Gay people are born into and belong to every society in the world," Mrs Clinton said.
"Being gay is not a Western invention. It is a human reality."Reacting angrily to Mrs Clinton's speech, Ugandan presidential adviser John Nagenda told the BBC: "That fellow [Mr Cameron] said the same thing. Now this woman [Clinton] is interfering.
"If the Americans think they can tell us what to do, they can go to hell."
Uganda is a staunch ally of the US, receiving military assistance to fight a local rebel group - the Lord's Resistance Army - and has sent troops to Somalia to fight the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabab group.
Mr Nagenda said Uganda would continue to co-operate with the US on security and other issues, but added: "If they are childish enough to take away aid, we'll see what we do [in response]."
2. We want more Bill and Steffy
To the powers that be at the Bold and the Beautiful TV show. We want to see more of our favorite couple on the show. Bill and Steffy. Or as we fans have come to refer to them STILL.
We think this is the most exciting, and compelling couple to come out of Bold and Beautiful for a long time. And we want to see them featured in a LONG TERM Storyline.
3. Petition against Bill S.978
The bill states that you will not be allowed to stream or post any music or video game play on the Internet. That includes Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and any other major websites. There are many people who's jobs involve posting videos on YouTube. These people who work for gaming companies like Machinima.
If this bill were to pass, many people can lose their jobs. Another example is how some people can become famous by posting themselves on YouTube and singing songs. Many people may dislike Justin Beiber, but he still became famous and signed to a record deal by posting himself on YouTube singing songs by other artists.
4. Pass Bill C-393 now and save lives
The acceleration of globalization of the market over the last
three decades, greatly facilitated by the expanding
influence of neoliberalism in international economic politics,
has advanced the internationalization of pharmaceutical
research and has influenced the ways in which it is market,
researched, and developed. In lieu of all the benefits they
bring, the pharmaceutical industry’s biggest companies
face a battle between the goals of corporate wealth and
public health. A small number of corporations have come to
dominate the research agenda and operate in a system
which the relentless pursuit of profit takes priority over
public good. While the majority world suffers because they
are deprived of essential medicines and die of neglected
diseases, people in the minority world still benefit. The
reasons for lack of access are diverse and complex, but in
many cases the high prices of drugs are a barrier to needed
treatments. Prohibitive drug prices are often the result of
strong intellectual property protection (‘t Hoen, 2002). The
devastating consequences of implementing patents on
pharmaceuticals and the influence of the market on
prioritizing research and development has led to a
perpetuation of global inequality.
Thousands die of preventable or neglected diseases like
malaria, HIV or tuberculosis every day (Albright et al.
2005). The reason why not enough attention is called to
the matter is because the people who are dying are too
poor to command it. If the same situation was found in
developed countries it would most likely be lead news every
day and they would be devoting serious resources to
finding a cure as fast as possible. As it remains, just 10%
of the world’s research and development on health is
targeted on diseases affecting 90% of the world’s people
and sadly, of more than a thousand new medicines
developed over the last 25 years, just 1% were specifically
for diseases of tropical countries (Albright et al. 2005).
Similarly, it is Western Europe, North America, and Japan
who make up 80% of the world’s pharmaceutical market
where as Africa is 1% (Robinson, 2001). The people who
need the most drugs are the people with the least access
to them. Therefore, they go without. Little money is to be
made in the developing countries that suffer from disease
pandemics. Therefore, they get neglected.
It is clear that the current state of modern medicine and
the pharmaceutical industry is not well. It needs an
accurate diagnosis and appropriate course of treatment.
The remedy to reversing the effects of the symptoms can
be achieved; it will be a challenge but it must not be
ignored.
5. Abolish Gov. Scott Walker's Union Contract Bill
Walker has introduced a bill that would strip public employees across the board — from teachers to snowplow drivers — of their right to collectively bargain for sick leave, vacation, even the hours they work.
But nothing would change for local police, fire departments and the State Patrol.
6. Oppose the abolition of the Chief Coroner
Please join CRY’s campaign for justice for families of fit and healthy young people who are dying from undiagnosed but inherited heart conditions.
Every week in the UK, 12 young people (under 35 years) die from undiagnosed heart conditions and CRY believe there are hundreds more ‘broken hearts’ which are not being sent to heart specialists for proper examination due to short-comings in the coroners’ system.
This means other family members are at risk if a genetic heart defect is present; and bereaved families suffer even more heartache from not knowing the true cause of death.
To stop these short-comings, a Chief Coroner must be at the heart of the coroners’ system.
A Bill is going through Parliament NOW which proposes to abolish the role of Chief Coroner for England and Wales and this needs to be stopped.
7. Idaho against Illegal Immigration
80 percent of the people agree with tougher immigration laws.
Illegal immigrant problem costs the state $200 million a year.
4,380 Americans murdered annually by illegal aliens.
397B - cost of welfare and other social services provided to ILLEGAL
Immigrants.
22.7M ILLEGALS in USA NOW.
22.2M... are MEXICAN ILLEGALS (579,000 are non-Mexican ILLEGALS).
$163.7B - cost of educated k-12 ILLEGAL Immigrant Children.
$24.3B - cost of incarceration of ILLEGALS.
11.6M - Number of skilled jobs provided to ILLEGALS.
Several thousands of senseless deaths could have been prevented if our federal, state and local law enforcement would enforce our immigration laws and secure the border.
8. Reject the proposed Relationships Register Bill 2010
A Bill is under consideration in NSW Parliament which undermines the family values, discourages marriage which will ultimately overturn the marriage laws, to be replaced by Relationship Register across all states and territories of Australia.
9. Abolish the Digital Economy Bill
This bill is a disgrace, swiftly passed through parliament with little debate, only 5% of MP's attending the debate and voted how their respective parties wished them to anyway.
Passed through right before parliament is dissolved so that this cant be brought up in parliament until May/June.
Innocent people will be persecuted by this, having their internet connections removed for simply being suspected of file sharing. This law is far too loose and will have serious application problems. It has introduced censorship to the UK, with the ability for the Secretary of State to block any website he/she believes to be associated with File Sharing. That could include website like Google!
10. Re-Bill and Referendum of Digital Economy Bill [HL] 2009-10
The Bill implements aspects of Government policy on digital media set out in the ‘Digital Britain’ White Paper published in June 2009.
Key areas
-requires Ofcom to report on communications infrastructure and media content
-imposes obligations on internet service providers to reduce online copyright infringement
-allows the Secretary of State to intervene in internet domain name registration
-requires Channel Four to provide public service content on a range of media
-provides more flexibility over the licensing of Channel 3 and Channel 5 services
-modifies the licensing regime to facilitate switchover to digital radio
-allows variation of the public service provision in Channel 3 and 5 licences
-provides Ofcom with additional powers in relation to electromagnetic spectrum access
-extends the range of video games that are subject to age-related classification
-includes non-print formats in the public lending right payment scheme.
Help petition against Florida Senate Bill 6 which would require school systems to evaluate and pay teachers based on their students standardized test scores.
Teacher experience would not matter either and student test scores would determine which teachers are laid-off or not. This is an unjust bill that unfairly evaluates teachers and needs to be stopped!
12. Health Care Bill Unconstitutional
This Bill that was passed awaiting for the Executive signature..... states that people must by LAW purchase a form of Health insurance when for some may not be able to afford or just figure that there is no need for Health insurance for them. This is a wrong to the American people to take away the GOD givin' right to live by him.
This will for instance make the Amish that do not have health insurance be made to have insurance when they believe in living off the land with no luxuries.
13. Stop Progress Energy Increased Rates
Progress Energy has recently increased their bills causing people to pay twice their normal bills to pay for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Tampa, Florida. Nuclear power is very dangerous, and to place one in a populated area is indisputably reckless.
The cost of the plant is 17 billion dollars and Progress Energy currently serves 1.7 million people. This means that the price each household will pay (if split evenly) is 10,000 dollars. At the current rate, a little less that 8 percent (115.32 annually), this increase will be in effect for nearly 87 years unless more increases are to come to speed up the process. That's 87 years of these intense conditions, and in order to reduce the time, the payments must increase even more.
If you think it doesn't apply to you because you don't live in Florida think again. President Obama stated on February 16th "Investing in nuclear energy remains a necessary step" and "this is only the beginning." He plans to create nuclear power plants all over the US saying each one will create thousands of construction jobs with only 800 being permanent.
14. Stop Senate Health Care Bill, H.R. 3590
1. H.R. Bill 3590 is currently being debated on the Senate floor.
2. The reported cost to the American people ranges from 1.3 to 2.5 trillion dollars.
3. Individuals and Small Business Employers will suffer an additional tax burden.
4. Medicare is expected to be reduced by approximately 500 billion dollars.
5. Tort reform has not been addressed.
6. Funding for abortion is still unclear.
7. Funding for illegal aliens is ambiguous.
15. Say NO to Anti-Human Rights Bill in Uganda
Updates: http://www1.voanews.com/english/news/africa/Obama-Condemns-Anti-Gay-Bill-in-Uganda-83594912.html
Do the right thing. Sign this petition and pass it on.
Uganda wants to introduce a new anti-gay bill. This bill allows for anyone who's been found HIV positive to be charged with the death penalty. I find this shocking coming from a country who's people have already suffered and have been tortured, enslaved, and persecuted in a 23 year long war with rebels.
This bill is being encouraged - pressured - to move forward by evangelical groups that are providing "aid":
http://www.defendthefamily.com/
'Human-rights groups, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have condemned the bill. They say it is a product of a campaign by evangelical churches and anti-gay groups that has led to death threats and physical assaults against Ugandans suspected of being gay.'
Caleb's Hope, along with countless other grassroots NGOs, works in Northern Uganda with women and children living with HIV/AIDS. This new bill could greatly impact the lives of those we are trying to assist.
Not only that, it's a fundamental human right to live free from persecution, violence and discrimination based on your sexual orientation.

The bill is hateful, shocking, disgusting and appalling. Stephen Lewis, former UN Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa & head of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, puts it best: http://www.stephenlewisfoundation.org/news_item.cfm?news=3212

17. Child Sex Offender Protection: Ambertrax
Please send a copy of this on your letter head if available to your local Senator and Congressman and delete this sentence. 1/2
AMBERTRAX
REAUTHORIZATION PETITION
A blind spot exists in law enforcements ability to protect our school children / grandchildren from registered sex offenders, whose void is about to get much bigger unless confronted, assigned our symbiotic mandates and a federal oversight program and support is passed into law.

19. Andrew Jackson Twenty Dollar Bill Removal
Andrew Jackson drove thousands of Native Americans from their home land. Thousands died on their way to their relocation.
Jackson put money into pet banks instead of the Bank of The United States causing an economic meltdown. Men like this should not be on our currency.
20. Bring Tokio Hotel To Greece!

KILL BILL WAS THE GREATEST MOVIE MADE BY QUENTIN T. WE DESERVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO VERNITA'S DAUGHTER AND IF SHE AVENGES HER MOTHER'S DEATH.
22. MY Fellow Deviants, Discourage the Orphaned Works Bill!
I know that many of you think that this will not take effect: The Government is sneaky. That is the reason for lobbyists.
If they believe that something will not happen, and they stop lobbying, the Government sneaks through and does what the lobbyists didn't want them to do.
I am asking many of my DeviantART friends, or other people who see this, to sign, please.
23. Deny the Orphaned Works Bill
The "Orphaned Works" bill has been fought over for a while, but now it's getting closer than ever to being passed. If this happens, any non-copyright work will be up for grabs LEGALY.
Previously, any artwork that wasn't copyrighted would still be protected by law from art theft, allowing you to sue for any damages done to you or your art if someone stole it.
If this bill is passed, your rights as the creator of your art, animations, literature, and anything else you may have ever created will be in serious trouble. This bill is intending to make it so that, unless a work is copyright registered (Which costs at least 5$ per work), it is automatically up for grabs.
Anyone will be able to take it for their LEGAL use, and you won't get a cent.
A petition came up recently that was made to oppose The "Unborn Victims of Crime Act". If the bill dose not pass, unborn children will have no protection from acts of hate and violence. Some of them may even die before given the chance to experience life. Some take life for granted. Just think. Imagine all the fun things you have done, all the good times you had. Now imagine if they never had happened.
Just because some people commit violence against a baby who can't defend itself, it doesn't get to live like we all have. It wants to live, but it will never be able to hike, play sports, or have friends. All because their mother committed violence. If the bill passes, everyone will get the gift of life. Only sick, sick people would take the right to life away, and these sick people are known as the "Pro-Choice" movement. They think because of greed and laziness, the gift of life should be able to be taken away, just like that. They want to STOP the protection of babes; they want to steel the gift of life.
We must let life be for all to enjoy. We MUST get the bill passed.
The Electoral Finance Bill makes New Zealand a democracy in name only.
This bill has many highly concerning provisions such as: preventing ordinary citizens, Plunket and ambulance services among many others, from having their views heard a year before an election.
It provides taxpayer funds to electorate MPs currently in office but not those competing against them.
The Human Rights Commission, NZ Law Society, and Greenpeace all oppose the bill, and a majority of submissions to the Select Committee suggested that the bill should be scrapped altogether.
The Bill will pass parliament by a very small majority, which is inappropriate for a bill which will substantially and dramatically alter New Zealand's constitutional arrangements. The only way to stop the bill is to persuade the Governor-General not to assent to it.
26. Support the Tuition Support Bill
On November 28, 2007 Mr. Leo Glavine (Nova Scotia Liberal Education Critic) introduced a amendment to the education act to incorporate the provision for tuition support until the public system can provide a equal level of support.
It also calls upon the government to lift the arbitrary time limit of three years so that the children who need it can continue to attend a specially designated private school until such time at they are ready to go back to public school.
This is a very important piece of legislation for children with learning disabilities in Nova Scotia. We are asking everyone to support this Bill by signing this petition and adding their comments.
27. Ohioians Against Senate Bill 24
Ohio Senate Bill 24 is an attempt to remove power from institutions and give it to the state. Universities across the state of Ohio already have rules similiar to these in place to protect students, and the universities should be in charge of dealng with these situations. State Senator Larry Mumper(R) has been quoted in a Columbus Dispatch article voicing concerns over democrats, card carrying communists, and socialists who he claims are taking over colleges, and indoctrinating student's minds who are not developed enough to form their own opinions.
These statements are highly political, and only point out his aim to silence the left, and nothing about the right. The bill is flat out written too broad and its reach is unknown.
This bill aims to remove controversial topics from the classroom and remove the ability to challenge opinions to allow for better understanding. We must stop the Ohio Senate from passing this legislation. Please, only Ohioians sign this petition
28. Make Kerry Smile on The Bill
All Bill viewers will have noticed recently that PC Kerry Young is finding it very hard to smile.
