Background (Preamble):
Bellaire Village Employees, which includes the Water, Sanitation and Street Department, as well as the Bellaire Village Police Department, have been without a wage increase for nearly four (4) years. They have not received yearly cost of living increases, yet the cost of living on a national scale increases nearly 2% each year. Employees are also paying more for their medical insurance. Co-pays for doctors visits have increased.
Since the Village of Bellaire does not intend to negotiate with any of these departments, we have found it necessary to petition the Village in this manner.

We, the undersigned, all being employees of the Village of Bellaire, Ohio, are petitioning Bellaire Village Council for the purpose of wage increases.
