Canadian Government should Cover the Cost of Vaporizers for Medical Marijuana Patients
Respectfully, to the Legislative Assembly,
Heavy cannabis users may be at greater risk of chronic lung disease - including cancer - compared to tobacco smokers, studies suggest. This has been one of the arguments against marijuana use.
As a patient, that is concerning. Marijuana is a very effective medicinal aide for those who are unable to either tolerate conventional medicines or find conventional drugs ineffective. For those of us, where marijuana is our medicine, we should have the safest method of delivery of it.
Countless studies have been done on the Volcano Vaporizer and is proven to be the most effective appliance available.
Other medical conditions that require specialized equipment are covered by the government. Our medical requirements are equally important.
We believe that medical marijuana patients should be treated equally. We too have specialized needs that need be addressed. A medical grade vaporizer, namely the Volcano Vaporizer, meets the safety standards for the marijuana patient.
A case at Cape Breton Regional Hospital makes it imperative that this issue be considered. A patient forced to smoke his meds outside had a heart attack. The CEO there is lnow ooking for a solution to address a designated smoke room and investigating into the Volcano Vaporizer.
