In the state of Ohio,and others it is impossible for a rehabilitated ex felon to gain employment-anywhere, ex felons that paid their dues, are paying a lifelong debt to society. this seems like double jeopardy, being tried for the same crime day in and day out, for the ex felons that have tried to keep on track and walk the straight and narrow everyday..
This needs to change, no employment for ex felons hinders significantly their chance at a FAIR SECOND CHANCE. it not only harms their well being, but the well being of their loved ones they strive to support,their children suffer, weather from no support, lack of support, or no father to help raise them due to being incarcerated for lack of child support. the courts seem to be quick to lock them up, but not quick to solve the problem and help them find jobs,when the ex felon gets out of jail for nonpayment, due to no income, they will still have the same problem-NO JOB,and no help from our government to offer help with employment. whats wrong with this picture!!!
i say WAKE UP AMERICA! AND THE GOVERNMENT! this is a BIG PROBLEM. That needs a solution, we are all capable of giving!!! the ex felons of the world are crying out for our help, their children need our support, so as not to be placed on welfare cause daddy cant get a job.
with all the poverty in Ohio, and the world, why on earth would this senate, legislature and supreme court allow it to continue, and sit blindly behind a desk well able to take care of themselves and children,but not give a darn about anyone else, i urge you join this petition to help our ex felons succeed,and most importantly to give them a FAIR SECOND CHANCE. for their sake, their children's sake, and our own.
We the undersigned,call on the u.s senate, Ohio supreme court, and the united states legislature to take action against the unjust and inhumane employment ban on ex felons that have only one felony, and have paid their dues legally, and to society long enough, we the undersigned demand that ex felons receive a second chance in society and employment, for the sake of their well being, their children's well being and support, and for our own, to help eliminate the use of welfare when their is a clear first choice, and for our tax dollars to go to a more urgent cause, education,.. to help eliminate poverty, homelessness, and to promote ex felons independence.
