1/3 of the way through the 2007 season, new Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe isn't getting the job done. Louisville is 2-2 with wins against only Murray State and Middle Tennessee State.

Louisville has thus far lost to bitter rival University of Kentucky, and suffered through an embarrassing loss to perennial Big East bottom dweller Syracuse.

It's not only the fans that have noticed a difference in the Card's performance this season. After the Syracuse loss, both quarterback Brian Brohm and center Eric Wood gave criticism of Kragthorpe and his coaching methods.

Brian Brohm: "We’ve got to have more of a sense of urgency out there. Maybe we’ve got to have that in practice."

Eric Wood: "I don’t think we prepared well enough for this game."

Athletic Director Tom Jurich continues to stand behind his long time friend, Kragthorpe.

"There will be no spin from this program. No excuses," Jurich said. "We will rebuild this."

The key word in that quote is rebuild. Louisville is a team coming off a one loss season, conference championship and BCS bowl win. 2007 should be a continuation of last year's success, not a rebuilding year.

Steve Kragthorpe is not the man for the job at UofL. This is in no way a personal issue, but a matter of taking care of business on the field when it counts.

We, the undersigned call on AD Tom Jurich to replace Kragthorpe as soon as possible and stop the bleeding of what was once a national power.
