MNPS currently has only one academic middle school magnet. The demand for this program excceds the demand often by 300% however MNPS, the director and board continue to ignore such demand and fail to meet the needs of high achieving students. Forcing many parents to opt out of the system often to private schools.
This petition simply demands that MNPS add honors classes in grades 5 and 6 in a minimum of 3 subject areas (language, math, and science). This is to be in effect for the 2004-2005 school year.
