Background (Preamble):
The plant that has been used as a recreational drug since pre Sumerian times is widley used among today's societies. The drug is kept illegal by a government that is only following the propaganda of a 1936 media tycoon who claimed the plant to be the devil's weed and brought in the name marijuana which is the Mexican word for weed.
The drug is less harmful than cigarettes and has a much more socially acceptable effect on people than alcohol.
So tell the government to get with the times and legalise this plant for everyday use. This could be an historic petition of national and worlwide importance. Plese sign.
