La Vase Portage - Recognizing, Conserving and Promoting

Whereas we the undersigned support the Friends of La Vase portages request to the Province of Ontario that the Crown Land, known as Lot 30, Concession 16, Ferris North, within the City of North Bay, should be recognized and conserved as park land for the La Vase Portages which are a significant and important part of the historical Voyageur Trans-Canada canoe route.

And that the Province of Ontario cease all active plans to permit mining or aggregate extraction in that area.

Therefore be it resolved we respectfully ask that the Province of Ontario work with the City of North Bay, the North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority and
the Friends of la Vase Portages towards permanently recognizing, conserving and promoting this Canadian Heritage River System recognized area as a waterway
park.
