In 1994, Twentieth Century FOX gained the rights to the characters of Marvel's comic property the "X-Men".
Since 2000, FOX has released a highly successful film trilogy, starting with X-Men, 2003's X2: X-Men United and 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand, and one successful spin-off, X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
With the release of the latest installment, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, FOX have opened the doors to another spin-off for the character Deadpool, The Merc With a Mouth.
Many however feel the treatment of Deadpool in X-Men Origins deviated too far from his initial origin which has raised fears for the announced spin-off.
However there is a way to subdue fears amongst fans and to still be able to provide a quality film for the masses.
Hire Deadpool co-creator Fabian Nicieza and Joe Kelly to write the script for the proposed Deadpool film.
Fabian Nicieza and Joe Kelly have written some of the most acclaimed and well known Deadpool stories but have proven themselves elsewhere in the comic book world with their ability to write in-depth characters, thrilling plot twists and turns and, in the case of Deadpool, killer one-liners and witty banter.
I am asking you to sign this petition to not only give these two great writers another opportunity to explore this fabulous character, but to help them deliver a comic book movie that rivals the standards set by films like Sam Raimi's 'Spider-Man', Bryan Singers 'X2' and Christopher Nolans 'The Dark Knight'. A film able to entertain audiences and critics a like and the a film able to set the boxc office alight.
These men are the right men for the job. The perfect men for the job.
Twentieth Century FOX, not hiring these men could mean a great deal of loss of profit and could damage the current high standard set by your X-Men films.
