Birmingham, MI School District Middle School Restructuring
Petition published by Brian Perham on Feb 01, 2006
| 146 Signatures |
Target: Birmingham, MI Board of Education
Region: United States of America
Petition Background (Preamble):
The Birmingham, MI School Board is set to vote on the middle school restructuring plan on February 7th.
It is our belief that this plan is not sufficiently developed to vote on at this time. It is our desire that they postpone this vote, until the issues raised by the community are addressed.

Petition:
In addition to our belief that the school board has not adequately informed the community, or solicited input of the community, our primary concerns are:
Lack of a complete plan to address the new non-instructional time included in the schedule.
The structure of the 7th and 8th grade health program.
The overemphasis on the reduction of instructional resources while adding administrative resources.
