Target: First Capital Connect
Background (Preamble):
Ihatethameslink.co.uk believes that FCC do not disclose statistics which truly represent the route’s performance and that they are misleading.

We encourage all customers of FCC to sign the petition which addresses the problems with their performance statistics listed below. We all know their performance is poor - and its about time they stopped fobbing off its customers, the media, and the government off with useless statistics. Please forward on this petition to all who travel with FCC.

Problems with their statistics are as follows

1. The Thameslink route is used primarily as a commuter route, but the statistics measure performance at the final destination. This is of little use when the majority of customers get off in central London. Their statistics should reflect this, and perhaps the destination station should be changed to i.e. St Pancras International.

2. The statistics combine both rush hour and off peak travel. These should be separated.

3.FCC only provide cancellation statistics combined for both the Thameslink and the Great Northern route. These should be separated.

4. FCC only classify a service as 'late' if it arrives more than 5 minutes after the scheduled time at its destination. They should also publish statistics which show all late arrivals including those arriving less than 5 minutes late.

5. Some late running trains become 'fast services' half way through their journey. FCC should clarify if these are included in their performance statistics as it will distort them.
Petition:
We, the undersigned, call on First Capital Connect to review their performance statistics so that they are more meaningful and transparent.
