Background (Preamble):
At certain points of the Grand Union Canal, extra safety measures are needed to ensure safety of the public who use it, for example under bridges where towpaths narrow, extra lighting along the Grand Union Canal where the DMU exists, this part of the canal proves very popular as a way to the University and public houses we want extra safety measures along there, inc ladders uv lighting and other things to make it safer.
Petition:
We the undersigned call on Leicester City Council and British Waterways to put in extra safety measures along certain points of the Grand Union Canal to prevent further tragedies from happening and create an environment where everyone can generally feel a lot safer.
