1. Bring Brown back to the Padre Uniforms 
From 1969 until 1990, the San Diego Padres bore uniforms that were visually distinct from those on other clubs, always including an element of the color Brown that reflects San Diego's mission heritage.
Since 1991, the color brown has been replaced with the much more common (and I presume marketable) blue.
With new ownership, there is an opportunity to bring back the traditional and distinct livery of this baseball club.
2. Recall the decision to enforce a mandatory school dress code.
The school uniform dress code that will begin to be enforced in the 2012-2013 school year is unnecessary, too strict and will only aggravate the students into breaking the dress code.
In studies, students who are required to wear uniforms actually score lower than those who are not. School uniforms essentially take away the students freedom of expression and should not be allowed in public schools.
3. Repeal Tulsa Public School's Uniform Policy for High School Students
Tulsa Public School's Board of Education has recently passed a uniform policy that includes High School students.
The high school students of Tulsa Public Schools of 2011-2012 are now required to wear uniforms similar to that of the middle school students.

5. School Uniforms for Norman Public Schools
In 1987 Cherry Hill Elementary in Baltimore, Maryland adopted the first mandatory uniform policy. Since then five big population states have also adopted the policy. Many people believe that uniforms have no effect on schools except to spend money that many people don't have. However, studies show that crime rate drops almost 91% in schools with uniforms.
School suspensions dropped by 90%, sex offences were reduced 96% and incidents of vandalism went down 69%. This doesn't include the decrease in violence and theft, peer pressure, and gang relations, and the increase in school test and work grades, leading to the success of children in college and the work place.
Uniforms would lead to a safer educational facility and better learning environment.
6. There should be no school uniforms
1) It does not allow you to express who you are. Every one is different and has their own style and own point of views an they should be allowed to express them how ever they want:Creativity is stolen from you!
2) People from other cultures who are required to wear traditional clothes will be inhibited from being involved in his or her culture.
3) Parents complain that kids take too long to decide what to wear. But if they aren't taught to make decisions like that, imagine them getting ready for a job interview!
7. Opposition To Mandatory Standardized Dress Code
The proposed standardized dress code, aka school uniforms, for Henderson Independent School District is intrusive, violates parental rights (which are God given), violates the 1st Amendment to the Constitution and is anti-American.
At the March 1 public meeting, a proponent for school uniforms stated that children will have to wear uniforms when they grow up and get a job. There are at least two different points to consider in regards to this issue: 1. School staff does not wear uniforms, they wear casual, everyday clothes so this is contradictory in itself, and 2. When you get a job, the employer PAYS you a paycheck and so the employer does have the right to dictate what you wear. In the case of the public school system, the taxpayers fund the school, not the other way around.
Some parents like the uniform policy because it makes it easier to get ready for school in the morning. Think about this for a moment. Think of what you are giving away, a right and a freedom, for the sake of ease. Lay out your child’s clothes the night before, or at least have them consider what they will be wearing the next day, and it will help to eliminate some of the commotion of getting ready for school. We should be diligent in preserving our freedom, not relinquishing it to make things easier.
Still other parents like the idea of school uniforms because their child may be picked on for the clothes they wear to school. We should teach our children to be compassionate and never ridicule someone for the clothing they wear. When a child is ridiculed repeatedly for clothing, it's not the clothing that is the problem! It's called bullying and should be reported to a teacher or the principal. Bullying can be mental/emotional as well as physical. We try to hold our children accountable with other aspects of life, so start holding them accountable for ridicule and rudeness also. Taking away everyone's freedom for the actions of a few is unfair and only puts a band-aid on the real problem. A bully is still a bully no matter what everyone is wearing.
A group of parents in Louisiana called Citizens for Parental Rights believes it is the right of a parent to teach their children how to dress and have stated “Parents must be presumed to act in the best interest of their children.” They also quote the Supreme Court ruling: (a) The Fourteenth Amendment’s Due Process Clause has a substantive component that “provides heightened protection against government interference with certain fundamental rights and liberty interests,” (Washington v. Glucksberg, 521 U.S. 702, 720), "including parents’ fundamental right to make decisions concerning the care, custody, and control of their children," (Stanley v. Illinois, 405 U.S. 645, 651). It’s also a violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution that guarantees freedom of speech/expression.
The proposed dress code is not a solution to the minor problems of the school system. It is an assault on the beliefs and values that we as Americans stand for. It teaches our children to not be tolerant of others, but to ban together and impose your will upon others. It teaches that instead of dealing with minor problems themselves, to cry foul and let someone else take care of it. It teaches that authority is allowed to abuse their power and violate the most sacred law of our land – the Constitution. It teaches that it’s not acceptable to be yourself, but that you must look like everyone else. It removes individuality and replaces it with herd mentality. It stifles creativity. It belittles thousands of lives lost in our 236 year struggle for freedom in the world.
There have been multiple national studies into the outcome of implementing school uniform policies. Most independent studies find negative effects of school uniforms. Do not rely on studies done by a school district. They are biased.
Think about all aspects of the code before you go along with others that have tried to make it sound like the answer. It is not the answer. HISD needs to enforce the code they have in place.

8. No Uniforms for Schools in the Bay County District School System
I am actively working on efforts to gain support within the Bay County Community to show our School Board that a vote to require that all students grades K-12 wear uniforms to Public School.
Not only is the cost unattainable to some low-income families, but changing from the very lenient dress code that is currently in place to one that is far more strict will be a change that will meet much resistance.

9. No School Uniforms in Craven County High Schools 2009
We the teenagers of Craven County School District feel strongly about the uniforms and would like to inform you of somethings since we never really get a chance to say how we feel about any of this. I'm using this as an opportunity to speak out for the thousands of voices that were hushed or told this decision is made.
I am not criticizing the decision of my teachers or school board, I am just asking them to take the time and sit and talk with a student and ask them has uniforms benefited us or is the behavior still the same at many high schools? The answer to these questions will surprise many of these teachers to have a student speak how they feel but I thought that's what we are supposed to be able to do have a voice freedom of speech.
10. Fresno unified dresscode is outdated and unfair. HELP CHANGE IT NOW!
(F.U.S.D) Fresno Unified School District has been around forever. And along with it rules. Rules such as F.U.S.D dress code. These rules effect all F.U.S.D student every day. Some times in positive ways, such as the dress code that prohibits any obscene or gang related symbols or color, and also any other rules crude clothing such as extremely skimpy clothing.
But on the other hand the section of dress code that prohibits UNNATURAL HAIR COLOR, PIERCINGS, SKULLS, GOTHIC MAKE-UP, and ALL BLACK CLOTHING. Is just completely in 2009 unreasonable, outdated, unfair, and, discriminating. Like if you have this now commonly found style in which all of these rules are are categorized in. Such as goth, rocker, punk, emo, metal or what ever you want to call it than your automatically are trouble maker or a treat to school environment. And that's WRONG!
We should be allowed the freedom to express ourselves!
11. Students of Huffman High Scool asking for a change in school uniforms
The school dress code is so strict to the point that it has even turned away one of the 12th grade students just because she could not get the right color school shirts.
In preveous years, students have been able to wear shoes that were the colors black, white, or brown, and even a combination of the three.
In saying this, from the begining of school people have been suspended from every grade level just on shoes and shirt colors alone.
12. Abolish the DISD Dress Code
After a fall out with Dunbar Middle School over placing my daughter in ISS for a dress code violation (which turned out to be a mistake by the teacher- not my daughter) I sent out a mass email to our community complaining about the dress code.
The response from the community was overwhelming. Stories of how hundreds of our children had been pulled away from their lessons to sit alone and not be educated because of their choice of clothing. There were multiple stories of High School Students dropping out of school because of the dress code.
These children should be allowed to learn in school. We as a community want the school uniforms to be stopped. Not only is it causing such problems for countless families, it is violating our childrens creativity.
I believe that our children should be allowed to express themselves through their "own style" as long as it is not offensive or distracting to others.

14. Support School Uniforms for North Albany Academy
In an efforts to improved school performance many public schools throughout the country are implementing school uniforms in an effort to improve overall performance and to reduce negative behavior.
Listed below is a summary of the some of the pros for wearing uniforms:
1. Many educators and sociology experts believe that students who wear school uniforms perform better academically in school.
2. Students are often so focused on their wardrobe that it distracts them from learning.
3. Some experts believe that a mandatory uniform policy will remove this distraction and improve student attention.
15. Dress Code for Tolland Public Schools

The current dress code only speaks of what is not allowed, and is difficult to enforce.
There has been a lot of supportive talk about having a defined dress code in Tolland, this petition is to let the Tolland Board of Education know exactly how much support there is one way or the other.

NHL, Reebok Pulling Fast One?
It would be hard to imagine that in one year, all original-six NHL teams would drastically alter their uniform style. You could imagine the outcry from diehard fans that for decades have seen little alteration in their treasured jerseys. Would you believe then that not only is this unthinkable change becoming a reality starting next season, but that the NHL head office in New York is the culprit behind it?
Word is that the upcoming All-Star game in Dallas in 2007 will see the unveiling of the new across-the-board NHL jersey style (designed by Reebok) to be worn by all teams for the 2007-08 season. The new uniform style, which was previewed by a few teams in the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Italy, will be tight-fitting, lighter and strangest of all, be tucked into the hockey pants. So what’s the big deal you say?
It means that teams like the Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens will have to eliminate their horizontal striping on the bottoms of their jerseys, virtually bringing an end to a historical visual style and making 20 of the NHL’s current jerseys a retro-sweater.
Mike Heika, a writer for the Dallas Morning News recently wrote a story about the new sweater style and spoke to NHL executive commissioner Bill Daly, who all but conceded that teams would have to drop their traditional look to make the new sweaters look proper. Heika writes that Daly says “horizontal striping is still possible, but … it would probably negate some of the positive performance aspects of the new jersey.”
Daly is referring to the idea that a slimmer and “equipment snug” jersey will not allow defenders to grab onto any loose sweater material and thereby eliminate a lot of obstruction. It’s hard to accept this premise when the league has already cracked down on holding and obstruction through the rulebook, and so that leaves the main reason for the switch crystal clear.
The NHL is relying on a new gimmick to sell the game to American markets where they feel that people will relate to the football-style jersey. Mike Heika goes on to make another good point in his revealing article.
“The main purpose of the hockey sweater is for fans to wear them in the stands. And… hockey fans are generally a traditional lot – much more like baseball than football or basketball.”
Not content with putting out a few ugly third-jerseys every year, the NHL is also counting on fans throwing away their old sweaters and buying the new tight fitting ones, thereby ensuring a nice profit boost and a lot more beer guts straining through the new tight threads in the stands of the arenas.
You can bet that the Buffalo Sabres had this league switch in mind when designing their new sweaters for this season. It features no horizontal striping but rather relies on “swooshes” that ride up the underarms. There are already some jerseys out there that won’t radically change, such as Buffalo, San Jose, Philadelphia and Colorado among others. But sadly, many of the league’s most popular uniforms will no longer be the same.
The NHL is mindlessly tinkering with something that was already cash in the bank. Fans, especially under the CBA with all its frantic player movement, generally cheer for the sweater and not the player. The identity of many teams has been built up through generations. Some will argue that it’s not such a big deal because the logos will be unchanged. That just isn’t so. Imagine if the Habs or the Maple Leafs decided to add a brightly colored swoosh in behind their logo, much like Ottawa did with their awful home jerseys. The fan revolt would be deafening.
Unfortunately, the NHL has decided to downplay the massive change about to take place and try to ram it through at the last possible moment to head off any sort of prolonged protest. Undoubtedly, they watched closely the Buffalo situation where fans were talking about the sweaters more so than the players on the team. Gary Bettman should stop listening to the money-hungry wolves at Reebok and start listening to the core hockey audience before he gets buried under a mountain of rejected hockey jerseys.
In addition, it was announced on December 2, 2006, that the Toronto Maple Leafs will alter their emblem to suit the new uniforms and it is rumoured that Dallas and Boston will do the same. Furthermore, Buffalo tried to bring back their original emblem into their new look, but Reebok told them "That it was impossible to do on their new form-fitting uniforms and went with the slug because it was smaller and viewable." Just in case you don't know what is a form-fitting uniform -- remember the olympic hockey uniforms in Turin.
Imagine if the Pittsburgh Steelers, Boston Red Sox or New York Yankees have to change their look! What do you think hardcore football fans and baseball fans will react?

Taking pride in one's appearance is something that Panzer Dermatology medical assistants and nurses take very seriously.
My High School has school uniforms. As I was shopping I noticed the prices and compared to my old school clothes I noticed I saved more money without unifroms.
Such as: Jeans are like $14 dollars where as Khaki pants it cost $19 dollars, White T shrit 3 for $10, Pollo shirt with colar 1 of them is $10 dollars.

I believe that school uniforms should be worn at school in Canada because children often get bullied at school from the way they dress (which may lead to suicide) and I think that this is serious.
22. Removal Of Livingston Parish Public School Uniforms

This is a petition for The Livingston Parish Pubic School System about removing uniforms.
In 1999 the school board sent a survey home with students for their parents asking weather or not they would like to see their students wear uniforms. The rules were no where near as strict as they are now. And if the survery was not returned it was counted as a yes vote.
Over the past five years the policy has goten stricter. The school system spends more time dealing with uniform violations then dealing with adademics.
This petition is for the removoal of school uniforms in the Livingson Parish School System.

26. Ban School Uniforms in Yazoo County Schools
February 22, 2005
85% of parents with children enrolled in the Yazoo county School systems voted against the rule that all children attending Yazoo County schools must wear school uniforms to school next year.
Most parents in Yazoo County are either poor or middle class and the expense of uniforms when they usually have to buy either off-brand clothes or second-hand clothes is just too much. Sending our children on field trips is expensive enough as it is when you have a hard enough time buying groceries and neccessities. Now the school board wants to add the extra expense of uniforms. The teachers voted 55% for uniforms. If the parents' votes were higher (85%), why did the school board vote to use uniforms against the parents' wishes? The children themselves will feel like just a number to the teachers with no individuality.
A child's clothing is an expression of his/her personality. I will not send my children to a school that infringes on their rights and the parents' pocket books with total disregard for the parent and child's feelings in this matter.
27. Imposing School Uniforms in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System.
School uniforms reduce violence among students, while raising their overall grades and attendance. Uniforms require students to dress alike, decreasing the likelyhood of incidents of violent robbery.
Students' grades improve with uniforms by redirecting their attention from classmates' fashions, to the intended lessons of the teachers. Finally uniforms increase attendance rates of students by having them no longer afraid of violent events, and their increased energy to learning.
School uniforms will benefit the students, giving them the best education they can recieve.

Educators try to get us to express ourselves through the words we speak and the clothing we wear. By taking away the option of whatever we want to wear, you take away "us" as a persons.
