1. Operation Greatsword

It has come to mind that the 3 best wii games, RPG games and overall games of the last few years are missing several things; the first is portability, the second multiplayer, and the 3rd DLC; should you want to have XENOBLADE CHRONICLES, PANDORAS TOWER or THE LAST STORY on 3DS, simply sign this petition.

Anything is possible, so just because you sdon't think they will run on the 3ds (and they WILL) doesn't mean you cant sign it!

2. Stop AT&T from LIMITING our UNLIMITED Plans!

June 29th 2007, Apple released the 1st generation iPhone and the service was only available through AT&T. When it was released AT&T offered an UNLIMITED plan to all that signed a 2 year contract. I signed that contract in February of 2008, the first day the iPhone 16GB was released.

I have since then had every iPhone since and have loved my service through AT&T. However, last month (March 2012) I received the following message... "AT&T Free Msg: Your data usage is near 3GB this month. Exceeding 3GB during in future billing cycles will result in reduced speeds, though you'll still be able to email & surf the web. Wi-Fi helps reduced speeds."

Now, after I was on the phone for 40 minutes with the phone number they left me in a text message to call, I was given an explanation that they were trying to stop an overcrowding problem before it starts but when I asked "those who don't have the unlimited plan, will you slow their data service after they reach 3GB's?" and that's when they said "no because they pay for it and that money gets recycled back into the network."

3. Oakville Residents against Residential Cell Towers

A 95 foot Rogers cell tower is planned to be installed in the Hopedale residential area, at the Big Bear Plaza at 1461 Rebecca Street, unless residents band together to stop the installation.

However, this does NOT only affect the Hopedale residents as future towers are planned for other residential areas around Oakville, affecting not only the overall health of local residents but also property values.

The National Research Council of Canada issued a report stating their belief that cell towers should NOT be placed within 500m of residential properties, schools, hospitals and daycares. In the Oakville Beaver article, dated April 29th, 2011, MP Terence Young said the safety zone should be 1000m, similar to what some European countries have adopted, citing the Precautionary Principal which states that in the absence of conclusive evidence, the onus is on the person imposing a potential danger to prove that it is NOT a danger.

There is an overwhelming amount of evidence to be read which indicates the dangers of chronic exposure to low levels of electromagnetic radiation to people living within a 500m radius of a cell tower. This is ESPECIALLY TRUE OF CHILDREN because of their thinner skulls. In adults, the most vulnerable parts of the body are the eyes, testicles and breasts with an increase in cancer of these areas. Aside from cancer, chronic exposure to this type of radiation causes sleep disorders, attention disorders, anxiety disorders and immune system diseases. The World Health Organization (WHO) recognized electro-sensitivity as a bonafide disorder in 2005.

Non-government funded research indicates the potential threat to human health. Government funded research points in the opposite direction. The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association reports "The members of the CWTA pay license fees in excess of $150 million each year - more than two-thirds of the total fees collected by Industry Canada from all spectrum users". Industry Canada gets the final word on tower placement. Conflict of interest??

Citizens across the nation have been speaking out for the last eleven+ years to no avail. The illnesses related to chronic exposure are now surfacing and the evidence is terrifying.

Email, write and call NOW, before it is too late to say NO:

4. Tell Sir Bernard De Hoghton to stop Shooting our wildlife

Most visitors to Hoghton Tower, situated between Blackburn and Preston, are totally unaware that thousands of ducks and pheasants are shot and killed on the estate each year for sport.

During the summer months many walkers visit Hoghton Tower to see and feed the ducks on the River Darwen. Yet in September the Hoghton Tower shoot terrify the ducks into the air and blast them from the sky. Each shoot lasts up to seven hours and several hundred ducks are killed in cold blood.

The Hoghton Tower shoot also rear pheasants in outside pens were they are fattened up. After being released onto the estate, they continue to be fed until the day of the shoot when 'beaters' scare them into the sky so they can be used as live targets. For the priviledge of shooting live targets each shooter may pay up to a thousand pound a day.

In 2007 Sir Bernard de Hoghton wrote promising that there would be no more duck shooting on the Hoghton Tower estate. In 2010 duck shooting continues.

5. NO Tower in Warrandyte

Key concerns:

1. Health risks.
2. Communications.
3. Aesthetics.

The proposed tower position is in a community sensitive area - full of children and people most sensitive to the damage EMR causes. Within close proximity to 2 schools, kindergarten, sports fields and courts, senior citizens, playground and skate park.

Health risks:
EMR from Towers is proven to cause cancer, leukemia, DNA damage, sleep disorders, headaches, nervousness or distress, fatigue, concentration difficulties, nausea, memory loss, visual disorders, dizziness, cardiovascular problems, susceptibility to infection, buzzing in the head, vertigo. See notowersnearschools.com

Communications:
* A tower would not be necessary in Warrandyte if Vodafone use the same technology as Telstra.
*There is no proven reason for the tower to be located in Warrandyte.

Aesthetics:
We are in the "green wedge". Beautiful trees and greenery greet you as you enter Warrandyte ... a Tower will be unsightly and the first thing you see as you enter this gorgeous haven.

PLEASE WRITE AN OBJECTION LETTER BY 31.3.10. A sample document is available. Please email:nomobiletowerinwarrandyte@ozemail.com.au for further details.

9. Homes 4 MPs

In an effort to curb excessive expense claims it is necessary to allow transparency and to humiliate those who abuse the trust of the British public.
The following proposal would allow just that with the added bonus of making London a popular tourist attraction by utilising The Tower Of London and restoring it to it's original use.

MP's would be able to show what it is like to get their five a day, usually placed in stocks, with free pineapples offered for the most inventive suggestion of the day.

There will be no "Order Order" as most things will be out of order, including the helipad and tennis court.
This proposal would save millions - enough to pay a few bankers pensions, and put a smile on many a face for those willing to pay to view the spectacle.

Elf 'N Safety would be paramount, so thumbscrews, manacles and guillotines would be tested on a regular basis, all in the best possible taste.

11. ReACT - Residents Against Cell Towers

Did you know that Telecom is erecting a cell phone site in Onehunga?
Above Tin Tacks Dairy
164-172 Trafalgar St

Telecommunication companies say cell towers and electromagnetic radiation are safe. Most independent experts around the world say it is not. Many governments and world experts are advising that far more caution should be taken.

No-one knows what the long term effects of EMF radiation will be to Children.

Residential cell phone sites currently require no consultation or any notification to be erected.

12. No towers in Clapham Junction Station development

You may be aware that the council has received a planning application to redevelop the site by Clapham Junction Station to provide residential and commercial uses and a new station entrance.

I personally welcome this development as it includes two new station buildings (on both sides of Clapham Junction Station) complete with ticket halls, escalators, lifts but also new shops, medical centre and a cinema (much needed).

However, the new proposal includes also the construction of 2 towers of 42 storey. Can you picture out the HSBC and City Group towers in Canary Wharf ? This is what is going to be build on top of the train station.

In addition to erect sky-scrappers style building (the other constructions will be 3 storeys), the shape and colour (blue and yellow) of the 2 buildings are eyesores amongst the old brick construction and Victorian houses of the area, which include conservation area with Arding&Hobbes (now Debenhams), the Grant, the former City Hall…etc.

We have now released a website that will be used to publish regular news and comments about the planning proposal:
http://towerscj.wordpress.com/

This website will be updated on a regular basis with new articles, analysis and agenda of meetings and events.
