1. Keep the Etsy forums in their current state

Etsy is planning to disintegrate and migrate the current forum into a myriad of Teams. These will be moderated by Etsyians. It is a system that we feel creates needless complications, difficulties and hinders the open, easily navigated site and strong community spirit of Etsy, which we so love.

By signing this, we agree and acknowledge the enormous and intrinsic value of the forums not only to our businesses, but to Etsy as a whole. We plead you, Etsy staff, to maintain and preserve this treasure.

2. The Steel City Derby Is One Of The World's Finest - So Give The Coverage We Deserve!

On the 16th Oct 1893 Sheffield gave birth the the Steel City Derby, being considered widely as one of the most passionate and hotly contested football games in the history of the sport with it's ability to place an evident divide down the middle of our fine city as the fans from both Sheffield teams pledge their allegiance in their own club.

In excess of 115 years later and 123 games later the Steel City Derby is still as passionate and as big as it ever has been in the city and surprisingly no real team has any real bragging rights or can claim to be dominant over the other as in total Sheffield United only lead Wednesday by 3 games in the total number of games won.

I'm not going to go into it much but over the history of the Steel City Derby the fans of both Sheffield teams have witnessed some pretty memorable games, and in the nineties the two teams competed down at the old Wembley stadium in a cup semi-final which believe it or not saw an attendance of roughly 75,000 people travel down to the capital from our fine city.

Sooooo.........I ask you this! Considering the significance of The Steel City Derby which is widely renound as a passionate affair and great entertainment for even the neutral spectator, Why do we only find our games between the two clubs televised once a season??? When sky clearly show favouritism when opting for coverage of less significant games and even Derby games which in theory aren't even genuine Derby games showing teams who play many away from each other??

This needs to change, and the only way we can make Sky take any notice of us is for the people of Sheffield to join forces together in Support of The Steel City Derby and to show just how much it means to us, and how significant we feel it is for them to give us the coverage that we deserve!

Therefore please take a minute to sign this petition which will be presented to Sky TV when a significant amount of Signatures have been collected!

Come On Sheffielders lets show Sky what The Steel City Derby is all about and just how much it means to us as fans and to our fine city!

3. Select full Junior Teams (for every weapon) for the 2009 Belfast Junior World Championships

This year the UK is hosting the 2009 Cadet and Junior World Championships in Belfast. Currently, due to not enough individuals qualifying for the individual Junior event, Great Britain are only entering three weapons in the Junior Team events. As the team currently stands, Women's Foil, Women's Sabre and Men's Sabre will not have teams representing them in the team events (because, for each of those weapons only two individuals qualified - for a team you need a minimum of 3 fencers, but preferably 3 plus a reserve).

The 2009 Cadet and Junior World Championships in Belfast is a landmark event for fencing in the UK and we should take full advantage of it by fielding full teams. The team event also provides a valuable motivational and developmental opportunity for Junior fencers.

Please sign this petition now to show your support for sending full UK teams - to compete in the team event - for every weapon.

4. Please allow teams to hit our own ASA Approved Softballs

After careful study, research, and consideration, many of the players in the local league have come to the conclusion that teams should be allowed to hit their own ASA approved softballs in league games.

Since 2004, participation has steadily decreased each season. We believe that has mainly become such because of the quality of equipment ASA has required for their sanction, particularly the game ball. Scores, batting averages, and the overall quality of the game itself has become such that individuals and teams have started going elsewhere to play their ball games.

Though, the ASA rules state we must used ASA approved bats, we feel as though the Recreation Department has not done an adequate job of properly maintaining the softballs and the quality of the product has not been satisfactory to many of the teams and players in the league. If allowed to hit the softball of our choosing, the teams will conceed to a home run limit, consisting of either 8 or 5 home runs per game.

For teams that are not as financially gainful as others, they would be allowed to purchase softballs directly from the Office of the Athletic Director. We feel this change is very necessary for the continue existance and prosperity of the league.

5. STOP Adult Soccer Games

Our local newly renovated Sunland City Park has been destroyed by adult soccer players, most of who live and work out of the area of Sunland-Tujunga, California.

Each Sunday the park is unusable by local families because adult soccer games are taking place and there is no room for a family to play on the grassy lawns. Additionally, the lawns which were newly planted in 2005 have been destroyed and show expansive bare patches.

After the first season of adult soccer play, local families protested the constant actions that eliminated family time at the park on Sundays. Other community members asked if part of the fees for the soccer teams would be used to repair and replant the lawns. Nothing was changed, nor settled and the lawns areas remained bare. As the second soccer season began, the lawns grew worse and the invastion of outsiders to our park continued.

Families were not able to use the park as previously promised by local officials. Local community members continue to be unhappy with the City of Los Angeles allowing - out of the area - soccer teams to trample and destory our newly redesigned family park and take away precious family time at the park.

6. Junior Raider Football

-Junior Raiders 3rd to 6th grade represent the community.

-Rest of NCKL junior football programs play on high school fields.

-These kids generally weight 100 pounds or less, so the statement that we are going to tear the fields isn't accurate.

-Outside organizations have used USD#320 facilities in the past for our children, e.g. Manhattan Basketball Association had basketball tournaments at all of our schools last year. These were ran and organized by coaches/parents of the school district.

-Additional money to the community through visiting teams and parents.

-The self-esteem that will last forever for these kids to play where the big boys play is tremedous.

-Let's the community come out and support our children.

8. Fix the Access Road for the Santa Cruz Archery Range

January 10, 2006

The Archery Range in Santa Cruz is one that many people use. It is the home of two clubs, one of which is to train children up to the age of 18, in the ultimate goal to give them the knowledge and skills to go to the Olympics.

This club teaches kids not only those skills, but ones that relate to every day life, including concentration, self-esteem, and confidence. The children in this club are given the opportunity to go to competitions all over the nation, and through these, have the chance to meet new friends.

Recently, our road that leads to the range that these clubs use to practice has gotten almost impassable. The lack of road to this range has taken the chance of practicing archery and going to a large competition away from the archers of Santa Cruz.

In order to bring the attention of the city to this problem, this petition is up.

9. Everton deserves to be playing in Champions League

It's simply ridiculous. Should Liverpool be allowed back into the Champions League next season as holders? The answer should be a firm NO! Rules are rules and the game will only be fair if rules are followed. Even mighty Brazil needs to play qualification games to enter World Cup 2006.It's obvious that it was stated at the start of the season only the top 4 teams in EPL will represent England in Champions League and Liverpool should not strip Everton of its merit.

Everton deserved its place in the Champions League for their remarkable achievement in 38 tough games in EPL. Liverpool should not robbed them of their fruits of labour with their 13 games success in Europe. If Liverpool supporters get their way with petitions and literary appeal, it would sound a death to football. To spread justice, please forward this petition link to others too.

12. Equality Among the Genders: A Sophmore Lady Basketball Team

Upon the end of a female freshman basketball's season only a select few make it to the next level--Junior Varsity. However that is not the case for the male freshman basketball players. They have a whole team designated for them: the sophomore team. While the boys have the priveledge of a sophmore team, girls have no such thing. Lady basketball players who may be a little late blooming have no chance. They have no opportunity to fine-tune their skills before the varsity level. A lady sophmore team would in turn help the lady basketball program because it would give them more time to develop and expose the girls to the high school competition level. Opponents in our district would not be hard to find because Plano ISD school have sophmore teams for their boys as well as their girls. Equality among the genders is there…..shouldn't it be here too?

15. G. Ray Bodley Dance Team

I am the only senior member of the 2002-2003 G. Ray Bodley dance team. Before I graduate, I would like to see my squad be considered an actual athletic team, rather than a school club. For the school to declare the dance squad an athletic team would mean the opportunity for its members to receive varsity letters for their participation. It would mean so much to me to be able to graduate with the knowledge that I made a lasting difference in the athletic atmosphere at G. Ray Bodley.
