1. Stop Land into Trust for Cayuga Indian Nation 
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) has released a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) supporting the proposed fee-to-trust conveyance of certain real property owned by the Cayuga Indian Nation (CIN) and located in Cayuga and Seneca Counties in the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, the DEIS acknowledges that the property in question is on "ancestral land" and therefore net en a current reservation, thus the CIN application is being treated improperly as an "on reservation" rather than an "off-reservation" application; and
WHEREAS, the DEIS concludes erroneously that there would be no signiflcant environmental impact if the approximately 125+ subject acres owned by the CIN were taken into federal trust for the use and benefit of the CIN because it fails to address, analyze and consider mitigation of significant negative impacts that will result from such action; and
WHEREAS, taking the subject land into trust weuld render it sovereign territory and therefore exempt from lecal property taxes, special district charges and other fees, thus reducing the revenue of relevant counties, tewns, villages, and schoel, fire, water, and sewer districts; and
WHEREAS, despite the fact that the stated purpose of the CIN application is to foster activities that will result in economic growth for the Nation, the DEIS nevertheless contends incredulously that the CIN has "no plans for further development .on the properties subject te the proposed action;" and
WHEREAS, the DEIS fails to take into consideration the fact that the CIN already owns same 765 additional acres in the Counties and intends to buy mere with the intent of making future trust applications, and allegedly intends to acquire up to 64,015 such acres of ancestral land that the Nation contends would thereby become eligible for trust status;
2. LOTE should not be compulsory in Secondary school
Children in year 7 -10 at Secondary schools should be able to have a choice if they choose to study a language or not.
Many have gone through school and found it a waste of time for them, only blocking out other subjects that they would rather do.
Many Boys struggle with this subject and is cause for misconduct by teachers and unruly classes.
3. Help Eliminate Math Requirement
Clearly all teachers need to be proficient in English. But why math? Why ONLY math? Who besides mathematicians use algebra or geometry in their professions or in their daily lives? Who uses them to such a degree that proficiency in those subjects would be necessary to teach any other subject?
Demonstrating a basic knowledge of math doesn't prove competency in a non-math field. It doesn't indicate a lack of intelligence or teaching competency.
If the goal is truly well-rounded teachers, why aren't teachers required to demonstrate proficiency in literature, music, art, theater arts, psychology, philosophy, history, biology, sociology, geography, physics, film, environmental studies, current events, anthropology, computer programming, or any other field studied in college or taught in public schools?
Why is math privileged?
Many people hate math. Why are potential teachers forced to learn what for them is an irrelevant, boring subject when there are many other subjects that would be of more interest and value to them and to their students? Why not give potential teachers a choice of subjects to be tested on to indicate well-roundedness? Why not ask them to show proficiency in several subjects instead of just one - math?
If well-roundedness is truly the goal, teachers should have to show knowledge proficiency in several subjects, not just English (which obviously we all need) and math (which only a small minority actually NEED). Teachers should be free to choose which subjects they're tested on.
4. Campaign for Mental Health Awareness
Dear Reader~
I am an individual from the UK, whom through personal and close friends' experiences have found that the "Taboo" around Mental Health Issues has caused a great amount of ignorance around the subject. I as an individual, with the help of others, aim to both write a letter and submit this petition to many parties throughout the government in a campaign to make our voices heard and attempt to cease this problem
5. Degrassi: the abortion episodes
The N, the cable network here in the United States which airs the Canadian television show Degrassi:Then Next Generation, is refusing to air the first two episodes of the new season. Due to the nature of the episodes, in which Manny, 15, becomes pregnant with Craig's, 16, baby and decides that abortion is the way to go. Although it is a touchy subject, it is also a very real subject for today's youth. The show has dealt with sexuality, rape, cutting, child abuse, death and drug abuse, among other topics.
Pregnancy, abortion and the side effects of both, only seem like the next step for the show. With this petetion, we hope to show The N, that there is a need to show these ommited episodes.
6. Against Turkey in the European Union
While all members of the European Union have a common code of ethics and culture based on Christian roots and tradition, Turkey simply does not match.
Turkish people in the EU do not attempt to integrate themselves. Instead, they demand host countries to adapt to THEIR culture and while doing so, build one Mosque after the other.
No more crosses in classrooms? Turkish as subject in schools? Islam as subject in schools? HOW DEEP DO WE HAVE TO GET ?!
Once Turkey is member of the European Union, its citizens can travel, settle and work freely among Europe.
We say KEEP THEM OUT! TURKEY SHALL NEVER BECOME A MEMBER OF THE EUROPEAN UNION.
This petition is to bring back Groups and Factions . The mods have been treating the people who hold this subject dear with no respect , and I find it assinine that "officials" would act in such ways. I would also like to say that G&F were very important , many topics were being discussed , and all of those topics were shut down. It's not right , and I for one would like to make Portent a better Community by re adding this great posting area.
8. De-admin raenond for conduct unfitting for an admin
This hearby states raenond duiswin has used measures unfitting to an admin and has acted unlike a mod or admin and should be subject to removal.
The current residents of the PGA Villages in Port St. Lucie, FL purchased their homes knowing there was no club membership requirement. Now the developer is building a recreation club and all residents will be expected to pay for the maintenance. We, the undersigned, feel this should be made a membership club whereby the residents who want to use this club will the ones who pay for the maintenance.
10. Make Federal Judges Accountable
This is the online version of a paper petition circulating in N.E. Pa.
The form of government we have enjoyed is based on three houses of government co-equal in power. It is the duty of each branch to hold the others accountable. We currently have a situation in which the Federal judicial system is unaccountable, as witnessed by the "pledge of allegiance ruling, and the removal of Alabama's monument. This is clearly unacceptable to the majority of Americans. We are asking our elected representatives in congress to propose legislation to limit the scope of rule or at least make it subject to review by elected officials in order to restore balance to the system.
Please help us return our government to a "common sense approach".

In mid- July of 2003, I had been going to General Chat for over a month, and was considered a "reg" by most of the other GCers. For once, I was respected. People actually liked me for being a weird person. See, I didn't get much respect in real life. In fact, a large margin of the people I knew seemed to hate me- but that's beyond the point I'm trying to get across. One day, I posted a message board as follows:

It was nothing but a childish joke, but it got me frozen. I wanted to make people laugh; you guys threw my account in the trash. This is the pure, honest truth. I never said any cursewords, I never got any warnings, and I was frozen all for a stupid little joke.
So, I've come to this conclusion. You, the Neopets Team, obviously hate GCers. It seems like you were waiting for me to post something stupid, to give you a reason to freeze me, all because I have some friends on a message board who I can relate to. You might be able to disprove this theory of mine by unfreezing my 3mousekeeper account, or at least transferring my neopoints, items, and the lab ray to my archinae account.
