3. Petition Congress To Make A Breach Of Contract With Military A Felony
This petition is written due to the controversy concerning the U.S. Appeals Court decision Allowing Dr. Mary Hanna, a Boston-based physician to legally breach a contract to serve in the Army as a medical officer on the grounds claiming that she is a conscientious objector.
Dr. Hanna accepted fully paid medical education scholarship from the Army and in exchange for receiving that scholarship signed a contract and gave her promise to give 8 years of service to military even after being given a promise by the Army that she would only be ordered to serve on staff as a physician in a military base hospital in Texas, she still refused to report to active duty.
4. Save the Music Department at Cape Coral High School
Recently, the Cape Coral High School administration has decided to remove the music department from the school.
The administration's reason for removing the program was becasue there weren't enough students signed up for the classes.
The music teacher and her students acted immediately, set up a table in the cafeteria, and got a considerable amount of students to sign up. There were at least 104 students signed up for classes such as guitar, piano/keyboard, musical theatre, drums, and the special education class.
Although they had less than two months to accomplish the task in recruiting more students, they achieved the goal.
The administration claims that there were only around 40 people who signed up.
Every student has the right to learn about different fields which interest them, and removing the music department from Cape Coral High School is denying at least 100 students from that right. Removing the music department would be just as unfair as telling the football players that there wasn't going to be any football next year, or telling painters that art class wouldn't be available to them anymore.
Would you like it if you were told that you were unable to participate in the classes that pertained to your hobbies or possible career? No, nobody would. Therefore, we ask the Cape Coral High School administration to change their decision, keeping the music department part of the school.
5. Petition to reinstate the afternoon Classical Cuisine taught by Chef Fournier
Recently a group of students were informed that the class that they had signed up for would be cancelled, specifically Classical Cuisine taught by Chef Fournier.
When asked about why the class was being cancelled the students were informed that it was required to have more than twelve students. They were informed that that there were only four students signed up for the class and that it wouldn't be able to continue.
There is knoweldege that students were lied to about the number of enrollees, as they all spoke to each other about the cancellation of the class. The evening class is still in session, which had less enrollees, which made everyone quite upset.
6. Reform Canadian Aquatic facilities
PLEASE: Forward this to all your friends and e-mail a signed copy to oldsdidsbury.threehills@assembly.ab.ca
My sister lost her son due to the low numbers of lifeguards on gaurd. He was only 8 years of age. Please keep in mind this is to save your kids and yourself and family from going through this too.
To my Honorable MLA in protest;
We need your help and assistance. Recently we have been made aware of the policies outlined by The Lifesaving Society, with regards to the recommended ratio of lifeguards to bathers within public aquatic facilities. Currently, as there is no official legislation, these are the recommendations for all public aquatic facilities. The following chart shows their recommendations:
Number of Bathers Number of Lifeguards
1-75.................................1
75 -150..............................2
151-275..............................3
276-400 .............................4
401-550..............................5
551-700..............................6
701-1000.............................7
Note: These numbers were developed at the time when a typical public aquatic facility was a single rectangular swimming pool, usually 10m to 13m wide by 25m long (approx. surface area of 250m2 - 350m2). Most new pools do not conform to this basic shape and also most new pools include a separate jacuzzi pool, a separate wadding pool and waterslide facilities. In many cases the above ratios are not adequate to provide effective supervision for all users within the aquatic facility.
This puts all bathers at an unnecessary risk. We need to enhance public safety at our aquatic facilities. There needs to be legislation governing the operation of these facilities and the lifeguard to bathers ratios. The current guidelines have not been changed since 1985.
Please commit to prioritizing public safety at our aquatic facilities.

In the UK alone Duran Duran have had two #1 hits, eight top 5 hits, Fifteen top 10 hits & Thirty top 40 hits. In the US alone they have had two #1 hit, nine top 5 hit's, eleven top 10 hits & fifteen top 40 hits.
In 1984 Duran Duran won both music video grammy awards.
Duran Duran are one of many artist that performed at both live aid & Live 8.
Duran Duran have sold 12 million albums in America & over 70 million albums around the world.
The band released their first album in 1981 which makes them eligible for the rock hall ballot in 2006.
Last September the rock hall had snubbed many artist & bands that debut in 1980. Well if Duran Duran is going to have any chance to be inducted into the hall, then the fans must speak by signing this petition.
The committee will meet after next year's induction to decided which artist/bands will be on the final ballot for the 2007 rock hall induction.
8. Ban chaotic parking by parents of Langley Grammar school pupils
We are writing to inform you that we have a big problem with chaotic parking in our road, so we are writing with a signed petition from all residents who are all in agreement with this letter.
The problem parking is caused by parents collecting children from Langley Grammar. This disturbance is occuring five days of the week between 3.00pm & 3.30pm during term time only. We have cars parked bumper to bumper both sides of the road, all residents feel very strongly that this problem must change.
We understand these children need collecting from school! But so do our children! This disturbance prevents us leaving or entering our own road, let alone parking in our road, this kind of parking is very inconsiderate/ hazardous and obstructive, this kind of parking will day obstruct emergency services entering our road and we are not prepared to wait untill that situation occoured this cannot continue, this disturbance must stop.
9. Removal of management team at Kilmarnock Football Club
The supporters of Kilmarnock Football Club who have signed this petition wish for the removal of the manager at Rugby Park, Jim Jefferies.
There have been polls on this issue run on unofficial fans' sites - all of which show overwhelmingly that the fans' wish the manager to leave.
The most recent polls gave the following results:
17th February 2005 - 86 Supporters polled
JJ MUST GO 59 (68.6%)
UNDECIDED 19 (22.09%)
JJ MUST STAY 8 (9.3%)
3rd March 2005 - 196 supporters polled
JJ should GO now 131 (66.84%)
JJ should stay 65 (33.16%)
There is also a poll being run currently which started on 10th April 2005 - this can be viewed at: http://killiefc.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=16990
The overall results will be known towards the end of next week, however 52 supporters have been polled so far and the results at the moment are:
JJ Must Go - 49 (94.23%)
JJ Must Stay - 3 (5.77%)
Many supporters felt that despite their personal views, the manager deserved support until the target of a top 6 place was no longer achievable. Now that Kilmarnock are unable to get into the Top 6 - most feel it is now time for him to leave - and feel the manager could leave with integrity intact if he were to do the decent thing and resign from his position. If this were not to happen within the next fortnight - the fans wish the club to take the appropriate action and relieve the manager of his duties at the club ASAP.
Discontent has been growing among the fans since the Christmas period, but the 3-1 defeat by Hearts in the Scottish Cup was the last straw for many.
The clubs own target of a top 6 place has now not been met for the past 2 seasons - this is simply not good enough. The fans realise that there are financial pressures put upon the management team and the club as a whole - which is constantly being cited as a reason for our poor run of results - but feel that the current position is unacceptable. Aberdeen, Motherwell and Hibernian all work with small squads like our own - mostly made up of young players - and they all have financial restrictions put upon them also - however all of these teams are sitting above us in the SPL - so having a small squad of young, inexperienced players is no longer a viable excuse - especially as this squad have largely been together now for the past 3 years.
The manager has been in charge now for three seasons and things seem to be getting gradually worse. We have an extremely talented young squad of players - but unfortunately the management team is not currently getting the best from them.
The following shows a list of where the club has finished in the Premier since 1997:
Season 97-98 4th
Season 98-99 4th
Season 99-00 9th
Season 00-01 4th
Season 01-02 5th
Season 02-03 4th
Season 03-04 10th
Season 04-05 8th
Jim Jefferies first full season in charge was 2002-03 - when we apparently "over-achieved" - despite having finished in the top 5 in 4 of the previous 5 seasons. Since then manager has totally changed the squad and it is now 'his' team - we have finished 10th last season and are currently sitting 8th - however on current form could quite easily finish 10th or 11th.
There are many reasons why we think this action needs to be undertaken straight away - however we have tried to keep this factual rather than resorting to too many personal opinions - as that would not give a true opinion of the full fan base.
Kilmarnock have lost support every year for the past five years. From an average of over 11,500 in 1998-99 to an average of under 7,000 now. The average attendances are only going in one direction at the moment and many fans feel that attendances will not rise until a change of manager is implemented. Many fans have openly stated they are unhappy with the current management team and will not return to Rugby Park at all until this changes - no matter how well the team are doing.
We have started this petition in order to show our feelings towards this situation in a peaceful manner - HOWEVER - if the fans' opinion is not taken seriously and a change of manager is not implemented very soon, a more organised approach in the form of protests before and after home matches shall be taken. Many fans are voting with their feet at the moment - and to ignore the club's most loyal customers is going to see the attendances slump to a new low not seen for over a decade.
With survival in the SPL looking likely and being in the 'bottom 6' - the fans feel as though there is very little left to play for this season but pride. Unfortunately 6 points from a possible 30 in our last 10 SPL matches is simply not good enough - and if this sort of form continues we may yet get dragged into the relegation dogfight - which is why the supporters feel a change must be made NOW. In our last 12 games - we have only achieved 2 wins and 1 draw - with 6 of the 12 matches being played at home. During these games we have only kept a clean sheet ONCE, and have failed to score in 6 of these games. In these 12 matches - we have conceded 21 goals and only scored 10 (3 of which were scored against dundee united - which was also the only game in which we kept a clean sheet - against the bottom side in the SPL).
To reiterate - The supporters of Kilmarnock Football Club who have signed this petition wish for the removal of the manager, Jim Jefferies.
If you wish to show your support for this petition - please fill in your details and please give your correct email address so that your support can be counted (we need the proper email address in order that your support can be digitally signed - please check your junk mail folder if you think you have not got an email). Obviously it is better if you include your home address also - but we have kept this optional as we realise not everyone is comfortable in giving out this information.
This petition will finish on the 24th April - thanks in advance for any support. Please feel free to send a link to this petition to the club in order that they realise this has your support.
10. Manhattan Beach Skate Plaza
Dear Mayor Wilson and City Council Members:
It has become apparent that there is NO WHERE in Manhattan Beach for kids to skateboard. It is presently illegal to skate in our park and on the street, or for skaters to use any public or private sidewalk or handrail as a skate obstacle. Our children are being treated like criminals and ticketed for engaging in an activity that not only provides psychological benefits like increased levels of self-esteem and confidence, but which also provides a fun physical activity.
Skateboarding has become the sport of choice for over 13 million Americans. In fact, the amount of skateboarders has surpassed the amount of Little League baseball players.
Since Manhattan Beach is able to provide more than adequate facilities for baseball, football, tennis, golf, swimming and soccer, why have we not addressed facilities for this growing population of skaters?
We, the residents signed below, request that an OUTDOOR PUBLIC SKATE PLAZA be built to accommodate skateboarding. This skate plaza differs from a skate park in the sense that it has curbs, ledges, benches, tables, stairs and rails that the "street skating" kids could use as obstacles instead of private, public or commercial property. We find this type of design appropriate considering that 78% of all skateboarders classify themselves as "street skaters". It would also have a designated beginner section, so that smaller and less advanced skaters can have a place to practice without being intimidated by the more advanced athletes.
11. Home Owners of Valley Green Village
Declaration of Restrictive Covenants and Charge upon the land #(34) " The coventants are to run with the land and shall be binding on all parties and all persons claiming under them for a period of twenty-five years from the date these convenants are recorder after which time said convenants shall be automatically extended for succesive periods of ten years unless and instrument signed by a majority of the then owners of the lots has been recorded, agreeing to change said convenants in whole or in part, except the easments herein referred to, which shall be perpetual".
12. Ourt rights as US citizens to choose our own communication network!
When residents moved into the community, all kinds of documents were signed (ie.e no drugs will be used in the unit, and documents, the rental office having access to the units at all times). We were not notified, nor signed documents that stated that Star Power was the only communication network that we could get in our units, due to the owner of the community's buget plan until we were in our units.
We as residents that pay market rate rent, are requesting that other options be avalible to us by law to have the right to choose, as residents of Doglas Knoll Apt. community and citizins of the United States of America.
13. Rescind Resolution No. 2003-12-04 Street Improvement in Ada, MN
Petition for Referendum of Resolution No. 2003-12-04
Resolution No. 2003-12-04 is the adoption of special assessments levied against property owners in the city of Ada, totaling $860,089.74,
for Street Improvement District 2003-1.
To Shelly Kappes, Ada City Clerk:
We the undersigned, citizens and qualified voters of the city of Ada, respectfully order that Resolution No. 2003-12-04, adopted by the city council on December 2, 2003, at the regular city council meeting, be repealed in its entirety by the city council. If this resolution is not thereafter entirely repealed, it shall be placed on the ballot at the next election, or at a special election called for that purpose, as the council determines. If a majority of the voters voting thereon votes against the resolution, it shall be considered repealed upon certification of the election results.
Signers Oath: I affirm that I know the contents and purpose of this petition and that I signed this petition only once and of my own free will.
All information must be filled in by person (s) signing the petition unless disability prevents the person (s) from doing so.
All information on this petition is subject to public inspection.
As required by city charter, Chapter 5, sec. 5.02., this petition for referendum is sponsored by the five following voters:
Timothy E. Wagner 104 4th Street East Rolland Carpenter - 204 7th Street East Sue Merkens - 607 Lily Lane
Joyce Schlagel- 701 East 3rd Avenue Shirley Riley
A resolution, passed by the city of Ada, MN has imposed an unfair and unneeded assessment against most of the property owners of the city, for street maintance, totaling $860,000.00.
It is the intention of this petition to rescind this resolution, and force the council to take the funds necessary to pay for this project from the designated budget.
14. No Extension of Sykes in Ada, OK
The employees who have signed this petition are against the thought of extending the closing date of Sykes in Ada, OK any further than March 8, 2004.
15. S.P.E.W.
Dear Hogwarts Headmistress,
We want to start a S.P.E.W. club at +++Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry+++ as we think that house elves should be paid. We would like to make a deal with you, that once we have 30 signatures on this petition we may start a S.P.E.W. club. Please pay the poor little house elves.
Regards,
Hermione Granger and those who have signed this.
16. Carrollton, Texas Public Skate Park
Dear Mr. Mayor and Council Members:
It has become apparent that there is NO WHERE in Carrollton for kids to skate. It is presently illegal for skaters to use any public or private side walk or hand rail.
In-line skating and skate boarding are legitimate sports and provide adolescent boys and girls with a fun, harmless and focused activity, in much the same way that baseball and football do. Skating also keeps them from other, not so positive, activities.
Since Carrollton is able to provide more than adequate facilities for baseball, football, tennis, golf, swimming and soccer, why have we not addressed facilities for this growing population of skaters? A place for them to skate would keep them from breaking laws, eliminate man power to police public areas, stop grinding on hand rails and stop waxing curbs, which are all the reasons they are not permitted to use public property now.
We, the residents signed below, request that an OUTDOOR PUBLIC SKATE PARK be built to accommodate in-line skating, skate boarding, grinding and ramp jumping.
17. Give all neopets a make over
For a while all the neopets look the same dull way they looked for years! the people who signed this petition think its time to give the neopets a makeover!
18. NEW SHOP STEWART
WE THE UNDER SIGNED WOULD LIKE TO PETITION FOR A VOTE FOR REMOVAL OF COACH USA SHOP STEWART.
19. Support Islington's Community and Voluntary Sector
Islington Council is proposing to save £400,000 by reducing grant support for a wide variety of voluntary organisations across the borough, including Islington Voluntary Action Council. These cuts will seriously damage the voluntary and community sector in Islington.
We the under signed oppose the proposed cuts by Islington Council and urge councillors not to vote for the proposal to cut the voluntary sector.
20. The "Sign to Have Mary Signed!" Campaign
Started on the 26th of February 2003, the "Sign to Have Mary Signed!" Campaign is an absurd act of self-indulgence in which the author, frustrated by her inability to record & press a five-song mini-album due to harrowing student poverty, somehow got the bright(?) idea of creating an online petition in which friends and foes could voice their desire to see Mary Bichner adopted by an established independent music label, so that they might purchase the resulting mini-album such a partnership would yield.
Most likely the campaign shall prove to be superfluous, as the A&R agents at Matador Records certainly have far better things to do with their time than pay attention to a crazy little redheaded synesthete and her pathetic stabs at generating creative publicity, but reason and logical thinking have never stopped Mary from doing anything ridiculous before. Thank you.
21. Gabriel Byrne And The Walk Of Fame
This Petition is to be signed by fans of Gabriel Byrne if you think that he should be awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
22. Get Peter Smith a Contract
Peter Smith was born to be a star! You only have to listen to his voice to realise that! Last year he narrowly missed being part of Ireland's very own Popstars Six so when he turned up on Popstars the Rivals many people couldn't believe that talent like his could be missed out on and boy did he show us by making it into the final 10 boys.
However tonight we were shocked when Peter came forward and told viewers that he was in fact 2 months too old to be in the group and therefore gave up his place in the final ten. What Peter did was incredibly brave and noble.
But his talent should not be missed out on, we are petitioning to make sure that he is signed up by a record company because no-one is more deserving than him! So spread the word and sign our petition.
Love Clare and Laura
23. all rock stations should play godhead music
Godhead is a goth/industrial/hard rock band that has worked hard over the last 8 years to create a large following and a respectable name for themselves. They have a large following in the USA and europe but there are only a handful of radio stations who play their new music in the USA.
About 1 year ago they were signed to Post Human Records and under signed by Priority Records. With every
show they do, their fan base grows larger. It the first week of their new CD being released they sold over 7000 copies placing them #2 on the sales list for new alternative bands. If
you have never herd of this band and you like rock or goth music please go to
www.godhead.com and check them out.
Landmines were created to slow-down large-scale enemy advancement in war, but in reality, 80% of estimated casualties are innocent civilians. In 1997 the International Campaign to Ban Landmines put the mine ban treaty into effect. This treaty bans the use, production, and transfer of antipersonnel landmines and has been ratified by 112 countries and signed by 139.
