2. Recognizing the Right to Drinking Water, Sanitation

San Diego is facing a serious problem: a severe shortage of public restrooms and access to drinking water.

The Girls Think Tank, a non-profit grassroots advocacy organization, joined by a coalition of politicians, faith-based organizations, volunteers and members of the homeless community, are launching a campaign to resolve this vital issue. But we need your help.

Below is the coalition’s resolution to establish access to drinking water and public toilets as a human right. The lack of availability to such basic needs has caused an increase in public defecation, illness, even death.

With your support, we will take this issue up with City. The coalition hopes to get 5,000 signatures by the end of March. The petition will then be presented to city officials, with the intention of persuading them to fund efforts to create more public restrooms and greater public access to safe drinking water.

Please read and sign the petition below. Thank you for being a part of real change in San Diego.

4. Stop Elimination of Bus Routes in North County, San Diego

The North County Transit District may be planning to cut back bus service in North County (San Diego) which will be a "disaster" for seniors primarily. One of tentative elimination route would be the bus #341 and #347.

Seniors and others need these routes in order to go to medical appointments, food and prescription shopping. In addition a fare increase is suggested. That is a double hardship on seniors.

Bus #341 is the only bus running from where I and many others reside. How can we do are daily chores without transportation.
