1. Citizens Against Local Law G 
Do you think you look like a criminal? Albany County thinks you do.
If passed Albany County's Local Law "G" will require your name, address and physical description (including your height, weight and any identifying marks) to be transmitted to the City of Albany Police Department any time you sell personal articles including secondhand items, jewelry and more. This information will then be provided to the Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) at the Albany Crime Analysis Center (ACAC) where it will be analyzed to determine whether or not you look like a criminal.
Should you meet Albany County's definition of a criminal (by having sold too many personal items, or items that are too valuable or maybe just due to a criminal conviction from your childhood) your personal identifying information will then be forwarded in a bulletin to local law enforcement agencies in the name of "intelligence-led policing and criminal intelligence."
We encourage you, with your fellow citizens, to take a stand against Local Law "G" for 2012.
2. Facebook: Change your reporting policy
Currently, facebook policy allows someone to anonymously report content on another person's facebook page. Summarily, facebook will make a decision to either remove the content or leave it up.
The problem with this policy is there are people who will report content for reasons other than violation of facebook standards. There are those who will report content because they are mad at the person, jealous of the person, for spite and countless other reasons.
The main issue here is the fact that facebook policy does not have a provision for the person who has been reported to defend themselves. Your content is simply removed and should facebook choose to, you are blocked.
This is an extremely unfair, one-sided policy that allows for bullying. When someone reports another persons content with no requirement for an explanation as to why and that person has their content removed and are blocked based solely on another persons actions. That is bullying plain and simple. Bullying is basically one person imposing their will on another with no regard for that person's wants or needs. Help to change this policy by signing and sharing this petition.

4. Changes needed to the reporting system on The Chin Wag
People are treated unfairly because anyone can report what someone says in a post for any reason and we feel that the posts that have been reported are not read by a moderator.
Some people are followed and harassed around the boards by other users.
1. Dis-Honest reporting.
All the reporting since last couple of months has been negative for Pakistan. Not a single time any thing positive reported through this channel. It is to the extent that since last 2-3 days in their english tx they are persuading Western public that they should stop all the aid to Pakistan.
Our opinion: No matter what ever rifts are within ourselves we never ask foreign countries to hurt Pakistan financially and economically. Only enemies of Pakistan will do this.
2. Disseminating Anarchy/Chaos/ Confusion:
Since last couple of months. As you can notice even in last 2-3 days all they have reported about protests and only views of people talking against present govt. We agree that Emergency/Martial Law are one of the most dangerous and horrible actions taken by any govt. We all condemn this BUT it does not mean that the so called media portrays like there is major unrest in Pakistan (when it isn"t) and it is at the brink of collapse. This is giving a very alarming and negative picture over here.
In fact you can realize yourself that all these Jalsa juloos are happening in front of the courts. Only a fraction of lawyers are involved or might be majority of lawyers may be involved. There is no other opinion that what ever is happening over there is not good. But on the other hand 99% of the country is open, school, colleges, factories, offices are open. Public seems to be not involved up-until now. This news can only be obtained if you call your home where you will find out that nothing is going on in the cities. We have not seen a single report which says that majority of Pakistan is calm and quite.
At this difficult time we need to advise the civil society / political parties / govt to resolve issues within themselves and join hands with each other to first fight this cancer of religious extremism and fanaticism and hold elections ASAP.
Actually media should play a positive roll to resolve the situation instead of puting more fuel in the fire. Instead media specially GEO TV is determined to de-stablize Pakistan at any cost to please their masters we don"t know where from.
The GEO reporters and anchors are physically and verbally persuading public to come out on streets. This is not the job of media to give an opinion. Their job is to report all the aspects without any prejudices and reservations.
We the concern American Pakistani citizens of USA therefore as the first action choose to UNSUBSCRIBE the anti Pakistani Channel GEO TV with immediate effect and announce to form a watch group to monitor other pakistani channels closely. Please join us in efforts to save Pakistan from this yellow journalism and blackmailing.
We will send a copy of this e-mail to Geo TV and ARY also.
Again, it's good to be a wise ulloo than a stupid loomri. (majority of us have PTV at our homes Al-Hamdolillah).
In August of 2002 my 12 year old grandson Chris Cejas was beaten to death in Sacramento California by his biological father and step mother.
From the information I have the judge stated the injuries Chris suffered were equivalent to a serious car accident. This torture went on for 3 to 4 days. In May of 2002 an upstairs neighbor called CPS. After 9 days the worker showed up at the apartment complex. Since the caller did not tell the apartment number at which Chris was located, the worker went to the manager. The manager told the worker she didn't know of any Chris in trouble there. The problem with that is the apartment where Chris died alone, on the floor with a blanket tossed over him was right next door to the manager's apartment.
If apartment managers were Mandatory reporters under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act in 2002 this manager would have been obligated to report the noises she had to have heard or face charges herself. Also there are protections for mandated reporters already placed in the law to protect them from law suits.

7. Stop reporting opinions as facts in Major crimininal case
Court TV is a widely watched network that millions of viewers turn to for facts in major criminal trials and as such needs to stop convicting defendants on the airwaves before the trials are ever completed.
In the Scott Peterson Trial their anchors broadcast a multitude of unfounded rumors and opinions daily rather than the actual facts as presented in the Courtroom testimony. the viewers have a right to hear the truth and not the rumors reported daily on the trial watchers and Catherine Crier.
The court tv anchors have endeavoured to taint public opinion against Scott Peterson and try him in the media rather than allow the defendant a right to a fair trial. this is an ongoing issue that needs to stop immediatly.the right to the a fair trial is Paramount and as such should be respected for all defendants by Court tv.
Please sign this petition asking Court TV to cease the unfair trial by media they are practicing daily.
