Petition Tag - racing
There was a ruling against ThornHill Dragway a while back from our neighbors in Campbell County that limits racing to Saturdays only.
This is hard on our business since one bad night of weather wipes out a whole week’s opportunity for revenue!
Alan Kempster is a motorcycle racer that lost an arm and leg in a motorcycle accident when he was hit by a drunk driver.
Alan has overcome odds, and races motorcycles with only one arm and one leg. TRULY AMAZING!
He needs some sponsorship help to continue racing and to fulfill a dream to build a disabled riding school to teach handicapped people how to ride.
3. Speed Bumps on Lathrop Rd (off of Barbara Terry)
Due to habitual high-speed racing, on Lathrop Rd (off of Barbara Terry and near the levee) and the potential danger of running into pedestrians, private homes and city property as well as the unnecessary noise, speed bumps are requested to be placed in order to curb this behavior.
4. Removal of the "Report to EPA" app
This new application, from the NSW Government, to report a vehicle to EPA has become available to anyone who holds a smart phone. This means numerous amounts of submissions and notices will be sent out to victims of the community around NSW who own a motor vehicle.
This is unfair for the people who have not done anything wrong but to be flagged because eg; the neighbour down the street doesn't like you, or the 12 year old school boy thought it would be funny to report his/her school principal's car as a complaint.
Let the EPA do their job. They're employed & paid to do that. We don't get spotter's fees or a wage for reporting to them. This app must be abolished.
This action causes a lot of time wasted to organise a date, to which a lot of us in the working industry find it hard enough as it is to make time and also fork out the cost of the inspection whether or not he/she has breached the EPA standards.
5. Ask Toyota Canada to stop promoting their product with the abuse of animals!

This is for Crash team racing 2010. The game that never was.
7. Bring F1 United States Grand Prix to Chicago in 2012
I firmly believe that Chicago can host the 2012 United States Grand Prix.
The United States has not seen a Formula 1 race on its soil since 2007. The USGP in Austin is on the verge of being canceled. The Grand Prix of America in New Jersey is is still two years away. There is a massive amount of interest in Formula 1 in the United States - and Chicago is the perfect place to host it.
8. Keep Formula One coverage on the BBC for ALL races from 2012 and stop F1 going to Sky Sports
Formula 1 is going to sky sports denying a lot of fans the chance to watch the races.
It was announced on 29 July 2011 that Sky Sports and BBC would team up to show the races in F1 in 2012, but that there will be free to air restrictions. Sky Sports will show every single race as well as practice sessions and qualifying sessions ad-free, while the BBC would only have limited coverage, some of which will be delayed and not live.
This petition is calling on the UK Parliament and F1 to ensure that F1 remains LIVE on free to air Television.
Almost a year ago a herd of horses were found in a paddock in Mandurah, these horses and ponies are being neglected, malnourished and just left for dead.
There is constantly new horses arriving and old horses vanishing. People have personally witnessed the condition of these poor animals and some have been left to die in the paddock.
After several months of trying to get something done through animal welfare organisations and getting nowhere this has been our next option and we can take our supporter numbers to the media.
Unfortunately the owner is refusing to sign over any of these animals so there is nothing Second Chance Horse Rescue can do as they do not have the legal power to seize them.
A petition to support the continuation of jumps racing in South Australia and Victoria.
11. NO to Bahrain Grand Prix - Appeal to Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA)
We, the undersigned appeal to your organisation NOT to grant permission to hold the event in Bahrain given the current situation in the country.
The Kingdom of Bahrain is currently under martial law after the government's lethal crackdown on peaceful pro-democracy demonstrations in March 2011.
Some 30+ unarmed civilians have been killed by security forces (some at point-blank range or as the result of torture). Alleged supporters of the protests have been beaten up by masked government security personnel, arrested at roadblocks and taken from their homes mainly in the 70% majority Shia villages. Some have died in custody.
100's of civilians have gone missing including men, women, children, medical personnel, human rights supporters and pro-democracy politicians.
Secret military trials of civilians have begun with no right of access to independent legal counsel. Four individuals have now been sentenced to death.
There is now no free media in the country and electronic communication is routinely monitored, blocked and throttled.
In a sectarian witch-hunt by the government, 1,000+ individuals have been sacked from their jobs for allegedly participating in the demonstrations. Students have been expelled from schools and universities and some studying overseas have had financial grants withdrawn and threats made against them for supporting the peaceful democracy movement.
By allowing the Bahrain authorities to go ahead with the Bahrain Grand Prix, the FIA would communicate to the international community that the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, Formula One Management, its sponsors and participants condone the human rights abuses being committed by the Al-Khalifa government on its own people.

12. Stop the Grand National Horse racing
We are the voices that CAN be heard, ours voices cannot be silenced, these horses depend on us, we may be the last chance they have!
Please help.
Hurstville Oval in Sydney's South has played a significant roll in developing world champions for generations. From the Olympics to Roubaix, this suburban development ground has cultivated some of the finest talent to represent Australia on the world stage.
Decades of blood, sweat and tears have saturated the velodrome starting out as dreams on one day to representing Australia the next. Now, there is a serious threat whereby cashed up sporting codes want to muscle in and take control of the oval to the detriment of the velodrome.
14. Save Gold Coast Parklands Show Grounds
As these grounds have been the host for countless events, such as The Big Day Out, Good Vibrations The Iconic Gold Coast Show and many more.
The local council is planning on shutting down these grounds to make room for a housing development
15. Stock Car Racing at the Orange Show
For Sixty Three consecutive years stock car racing has been a family past time at the Orange Show Speedway. Many racing greats began their careers here, and we would like that to continue for another Sixty Three years.
Please share your contact information so we may alert you to the latest efforts, and critical public hearings and meetings. You can opt out at any time. Your information will remain confidential and used only for our effort.
16. Please sign if you believe Zenyatta should be Horse of the Year
It's disappointing to hear that Blame should be Horse of the Year since he won the Classic, because Zenyatta didn't get Horse of the Year when she won the Classic last year as well as being the first female to win it.
Zenyatta's spectacular 19 wins in a row before losing her first race should make her Horse of the Year. She was dead last in the track, caught up, ran with the boys and lost only by a nose short. Sorry, but Blame didn't bring in the crowd at Churchill Downs, Zenyatta did. The media and security coverage of her shows she's #1.
She's #1, because people have taken notice of her extraordinary 19 wins. She's extra special, because she loves to pose and dance for the camera.
Zenyatta for Horse of the Year!
17. Allow Derby Day parking in the Spinney
Each year Epsom Racecourse, a private company, enforces through a traffic management scheme restriction on parking in local roads. These include side roads with no direct driving access to the racecourse.
This traffic plan is rigorously enforced by the police and it means that local residents cannot park outside their own property. Those with limited off road parking have to find alternative parking for the two days of the race meeting.
One option is to use the racecourse parking service at £10-£15 per day per car and this is to park on common ground! It makes you wonder if this is to do with driving up parking revenue. Residents can no longer enjoy the Derby festival and invite family and friends to join them.
18. Support Drag Racing in Charters Towers
The Charters Towers Drag Racing Club is a not for profit organisation established in 2005. It now boasts over 60 financial club members.
Each year the Charters Towers Drag Racing Club hosts drag racing events at the local airstrip. These events have become a huge success with over 1500 spectators and over 60 competitors. People come from as far as Brisbane, Rockhampton, Mackay, Mt Isa and Cairns.
The success and popularity of these events has enabled us to recognise that there is a need for a permanent drag racing facility in Charters Towers.
By showing your support and signing this petition you are helping to strengthen our proposal of the construction of this facility. Your help is much appreciated.
19. Stop Greyhound Racing in the USA
1) Approximately 30,000 Greyhounds Killed Each Year;
2) Dogs who are said not "fit" for racing are killed;
3) Dogs that can no longer race are killed;
4) Even dogs who race are kept in cages;
5) Usually 100s of dogs are kept in small cages;
6) Conditions for these dogs are not sanitary or healthy;
7) many dogs die of starvation;
8)these dogs can easily be saved if they are adopted.
20. Stop Greyhound and Whippet Racing
Every year millions of greyhounds and whippets are raced.
When these dogs do not want to race any longer many are euthanised due to this. It is unfair to these animals and if many weren't taken in by animal rescue centres around the world the death rates would be much higher.
21. Race Driver Grid In CEVO Game League
Race Drive Grid is a racing sim game developed by the team of gamers known as CodeMasters.(TM) The game was announced on April 17th, 2007 and was realesed on May 30th, 2008 to the USA and later dates for Europe and Australia. There are several modes of competition using various cars, including: GT races, open wheel races, demolition derbies, etc. There are also several tracks derived from different countries, including Japan, United States and European tracks such as Le Mans and Spa Francorchamps.
This video below shows the concept of racing of the game Race Driver Grid. It shows the true intensity,mental and physical concentration it takes to accomplish a game like this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4hfP_TZE7M
*NOTE* I take no actions for this video it was a example to show why Race Driver Grid Is Competitive.
My Views on this game shows in my opnion a very competitive game and to add it to CEVO (which is one of the biggest game league on the net to this day) would be interesting and give it a good vibe around this genre of game instead of directing full attention to FPS,MMO, and CO-OP in general.
What I am asking the gamers is to stand up and say "yes I would love to see Race Driver Grid in Cevo Because of its competitive purpose".
Thank you for your time and patience it has been much appreciated.
Race Driver Grid Must Me Noticed As A Competitive Game On Behalf Of The Gaming Net.
SIGN UP AND SEE IT IN CEVO.
22. Online game ''Roam Mania''
There should be a free online game where you can just explore a free open world.
ANDRA without any real reason have decided to not allow E85 as a race fuel. 100% Ethanol is currently allowed and E85 is availalbe to the general public at the bowser.
ANDRA have claimed that the mixture is to hard to measure but this is not true as the V8supercars use it as there control fuel. E85 is a step forward for this country.
It is better for the environment and is produced from renewable waste. Stop ANDRA holding Australia back!
24. Legislative Leaders, Governor Paterson; Act now to Save our Family Farms!
Many people know that New York State is home to the world famous Belmont Stakes and Saratoga Racetrack; the oldest organized sporting venue of any kind in the United States, but many would be shocked and dismayed to hear the state horse racing and breeding industry is on the brink of collapse.
New York is home to over 400 breeding farms where over 44,000 thoroughbreds reside, utilizing 43,000 acres of working landscape or “green space”. Most thoroughbred farms are small, family owned operations that are fighting for survival. The imminent failure of thoroughbred farms in New York imperils an industry that supports more than 30,000 jobs and that has a $4.8 billion annual impact on New York’s economy with related goods and services valued at nearly $2.4 billion.
The continued absence of video lottery terminals (VLT’s) at Aqueduct Race Track that could produce a million dollars a day in state revenue and preserve an industry that has been an economic engine of success is inexplicable at a time of fiscal crisis. Competition from other states is already threatening our in-state breeding program. Businesses that would otherwise come to New York are fleeing to other states where they can compete for VLT revenues. A significant number of mares are now being sent to Pennsylvania, for example. As a result, many thoroughbred farms and breeders are struggling to pay the bills and stay afloat. Farm owners, workers, and countless industry suppliers are in desperate need of VLT revenues to invest BACK into the breeding farms, keeping that money in the local economy, creating more jobs, and strengthening the horseracing industry in New York.
The current chaos in the NYS Senate threatens to delay VLTs at Aqueduct even further. The Paterson Administration has set an August 1 deadline for the bidders seeking the contract to run the VLT operations. However, any contract would need the approval of both the leader of the state Assembly and the Senate. While politicians in Albany fight over who’s in charge, the breeding and racing community is on the brink of financial ruin with thousands of jobs at stake.
Swift action is needed to finally make Aqueduct VLTs a reality, pump millions of dollars into the state’s education funds and preserve the thoroughbred breeding and racing industry.
25. Formula one fans united in their support of FOTA and it's cause
FOTA wants to help F1 move forward where as the FIA wants to see it's grip on power secured.
26. Amend an appeal process for all Ontario Highway Traffic Act infractions
Did you know that the Police in Ontario, Canada have the power to impound your vehicle and suspend your license without any form of appeal process? This in turn will raise your insurance rates, cause you to pay fees to reinstate your license, cause you to pay fees to recover your vehicle from the impound lot (and don't forget the towing of your vehicle there!) and possibly cause you credit and employment problems in the future. Yes, it's true!
All of this because there is no court date, no appeal and no due process for many offences under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario! It's your word against the Police. You have NO rights! This quote is taken directly from the Highway Traffic Act:
"No appeal or hearing
(9) There is no appeal from, or right to be heard before, the suspension of a driver’s licence..."
How is this possible? Where do we live? Read the Act for yourself, you may just be surprised in what you find out. Many acts have been amended and changed in the last year that revoke many of your rights as a citizen of Canada (or Ontario?).
http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/statutes/english/elaws_statutes_90h08_e.htm
Please sign our petition! Show solidarity that we won't stand for these amendments in a free country where we're supposed to have rights!
The creation of a Suffolk County Drag Strip would greatly reduce the dangers of street racing on public roads.
A supervised and controlled environment would be beneficial in keeping kids and young adults off the streets.
28. Drag Strip for Windsor, Ontario
You can visit any city in the world and you will always happen across a group of car enthusiasts. Different people enjoy their cars for different reasons. Some modify for looks while others modify for speed.
In Windsor alone, there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of car enthusiasts that love to race. We are forced to travel anywhere for two to five hours just to reach a drag strip (including having to cross the border).
We are in desperate need for our own drag strip.
With the cancellation of Dakar 2008 due to terrorist threats, the organisers of the Dakar have to find some new ground.
While Africa will always be the spiritual home of the Dakar, its just not possible in the near future. ASO says they want to explore the deserts of the world, and well, we have 1,371,000 square kilometers of them, and thats just the start of it. With the Dakar heading to South America in 2009, there is a chance they may want to explore other options for the following years.
With over 4 million square kilometers of sand to explore, there is more than enough chance for racers to get lost in the heart of Australia. With the world famous such as Ayers Rock (or Uluru) and the Olgas, there are plenty of unforgettable sights for the media madness of the Dakar. And hey, theres even a pink lake at the bottom of W.A, coincidence, I think not.
Losistics, transport and services all become that much easier in a country that has grown with being remote, not just to each other, but the rest of the world. The language barrier, passports, visas, medicine, water, fuel, everything becomes pretty easy when touring the deserts of Australia. While english isn't everyones first language, I don't know a lot of people who can say Mandarin is even on their list. (China want the Dakar for 09).
Great deserts, great people, great riding, great everything. So come on ASO, there arent too many excuses for not moving to Australia, but there ARE a lot of reasons to move here.
30. A better life for greyhounds
Every year at least 10,000 greyhounds retire from racing in the UK. Many of these simply 'disappear'.
Racing greyhounds may face a number of welfare issues during their lives including:-
* Overbreeding leading to thousands of unwanted dogs being killed.
* Injuries caused by inappropriate track surface and design.
* Being abandoned and killed when they don't make the grade.
When they retire greyhounds meet one of 9 fates, 6 of which are totally unacceptable.
1. Abandoned and end up being taken to the local pound.
2. Abandoned and die.
3. Abandoned and then found by a member of the public and kept as a pet.
4. Abandoned and found by a rescue organisation and rehomed.
5. Killed by their owner.
6. Euthanased by a vet.
The acceptable alternatives to this are:-
1. Kept by their owner as a pet.
2. Rehomed to a good home by their owner.
3. Handed to a rescue organisation and then rehomed.
