1. Fire John Fox

Coach Fox has consistently failed the Denver Broncos organization time and again throughout his tenure as head coach, most notably during playoff games and championships, via the exhibition of incompetence through elementary game plans, the endorsement and hiring of less skilled and less qualified subordinate coaches simply due to their previous history with the Carolina Panthers(Fox's previous, hometown, and favorite team) such as Jack Del Rio, his obvious inability to adjust to the opponent's schemes during game-play, and his affinity for offering excuses and delegating his responsibility of failure.

Most egregious and disappointing for fans is the most recent and extremely embarrassing lopsided Super Bowl loss.

2. Fire Todd Haley

Since Haley has become the Steelers offensive coordinator, the Steelers have missed the playoffs and have started with a losing record. If anyone were to have this type of performance in the real world, this would most definitely lead to termination.

In essence, if the Steelers were a business and Haley was one of their employees, Todd Haley would be in theory costing the Steelers more money than he is worth.

3. Player safety rules revision

The fairness of the personal foul penalties (especially the helmet-to-helmet hits and hit on defenseless receivers) is obviously one sided in the current officiating.

Firstly, the helmet-to-helmet personal foul penalty has not been enforced on every hit, which can be understandable to a point because the officials are going to miss some borderline calls, but the hits that are being called are not all illegal hits according to league rules but are being called anyways. The ultimate job of a defender is to hit the person with the ball to eventually knock them down to stop advancement of the ball. When the person with the ball bends down to try and shake off the hit or "run the defender over" and continue to advance the ball it is extremely difficult for a defender to make an adjustment along with the person carrying the ball because as a defender you have to go low for two reasons, the first is because you want to take the legs out to try and stop advancement or the ability to juke a defender.

Secondly, the player safety rules prohibit defenders from hitting players high with their helmet. It seems that the intention of the NFL was to have the players hit lower, and that is what Dashon Goldson did against the New Orleans Saints on 09-15-2013 on a hit on the Saints running back Darren Sproles and was called a penalty, but it is blatantly obvious that it is humanly impossible to try to hit a player low and dodge the helmet when the player with the ball is going low as well, leaving almost no room for the player to make a sure tackle or hit to stop progression.

The hit on a defenseless receiver is also another penalty that is unfair to a defensive player. Again, the job of a defender (especially in the secondary) is to tackle the player that is potentially going to catch the ball. The defender has to assume that the receiver is going to catch the ball and make a sure tackle to try and separate the receiver from the football or to simply get the player down. If the defender has to "play it safe" and wait until the player turns around and sets his footing to try and progressive the ball up the field, it puts the defender in a very poor position to make a tackle and to get "run over" (which also causes injuries when a receiver lowers his head to try and run through the defender) and therefore makes a very big upper hand to the receiver (which are more times than not bigger than the defender in size) and therefore, makes the plays in the passing game unfair to defenders. I can completely understand player safety, but it needs to be done in a manner that does not give an advantage to the offense.

It is also worth noting that it is almost impossible for a player to tackle another player without going low with the upper body to get leverage, and in doing so will also bring the helmet.

With all of this being said, it is unfair that a lot of the hits that are being called helmet-to-helmet are really "shoulder-to-helmet" hits and are not reviewable by the referees and are just assumed to be illegal hits because of the viciousness of the hit. Let's also not forget that this game requires helmets, pads, and other safety equipment to prevent injury and I feel that instead of making the game tougher to play for only certain players, let's make the helmets and other safety equipment safer instead of making it an unfair advantage to a specific defense or offense.

4. Give Tim Tebow an NFL Spot

This is Easy! Tebow is Forbes Most Influential Athlete in the World and has the ability to fill stadium seats and produce wins for Any Team in the NFL given the chance. It is time to stop hiding from the Truth and to let Fate decide.

Fate has chosen Tebow and it is High Time to allow Fate to Succeed in this Sport. It's not always what some scout has to say. What About Tebow's Combine where he far out performed a very good circle of talented QB's in the draft? What about Tebow's Ability to overcome all the critics and Win despite the constant doubt and Flat Out Jealousy of those whom prefer to stand in the LimeLight over Tebow!

Tebow's Light Cannot be just Turned off because it is a light that is magnified by the Grass Roots movement of the people whom love him and love what he is about, these same people believe in him and believe that he has the potential to be one of the Greatest NFL Players of All Time!

5. Team Up Against Sexual Assault

6. Request Baltimore Ravens Cheerleader, Courtney L to be Reinstated & Attend Superbowl with her team!

Baltimore Ravens 5 year veteran Cheerleader, Courtney L was given notice she would not be performing with her teammates at the SuperBowl XLVII. The director & front office explained they could only take 32 members of the squad and all 3+ year veterans would be going.

Courtney is a 5 year veteran and the only veteran on the team the coaching staff isn't taking. Courtney was featured in every calendar & chosen to attend many charity venues over the years and she has done every ambassadorial job with pride and class.

She was ranked 57 among 100 hottest Cheerleaders this season & is a featured cheerleader in many print articles.

Courtney announced she was retiring during the last home game at the end of the season which didn't go well with the director. She was told she didn't put in as many appearance hours this season as she did the past 4 yrs while in college. This season she earned her B.S. degree and got a full time job... Bad call. They also stated she struggled with weight on occasion & she had been benched for 2 lb weight gain during a game earlier in the fall, which is a absurd, unhealthy and a complete inaccurate measurement of a woman's "appearance" and size!

Courtney is beautiful & this organization that is supposedly out there to promote self esteem and healthy body image to millions of young girls and women nationwide has done a big injustice to Courtney & we are outraged! She deserves to be out on the field with her teammates, her family.

Since this petition started she was informed tonight Jan 27th to turn in her uniform by the team Director Tina Galdieri. She is no longer on the team because of the out roar we have caused! She needs to be reinstated and allowed to perform with her teammates at Superbowl.

8. ANNUAL COWBOYS VS TEXANS THANKSGIVING DAY GAME

Whereas the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans are two NFL teams located in the same state who would be worthy opponents with a huge fan following, including families and friends who could be brought together (as well as torn apart) by an annual Thanksgiving Day battle between the two teams, we would like such an event to become a fixed part of the schedule each season for the teams.

This event stands to be a great monetary contributor to the economy of the state of Texas, as well as the two teams, by providing substantial ticket and other game related sales to both franchises, owners, and retailers in the state. Overriding all the aforementioned benefits however, would be the value of the entertainment contribution.

These two formidable opponents with the support of their dedicated fans, would provide a holiday of immeasurable fun for all!

9. Sack Tony Romo

Too many times Dallas Cowboy fans have been victims of a Romo's late season interceptions or just a poor late season record. It may not always be his fault but let's look a the highlights.

2006 NFC Wild Card at Seattle (L 21-20) bad field goal hold.
2007 NFC Divisional vs. NY Giants (L 21-17) interception
2008 Week 14 at Pittsburgh (L 20-13) omg interception
Dec 30 2012 interception Redskins

There's many more bad games we should have, or needed to, win. In total losing 6 of 7 win or go home games. 1 of 3 in playoffs, 0 of 3 in regular season to get in playoffs.

10. NFL/NBC reprimand Bob Costas

During a Sunday night football game on NBC, sports commentator Bob Costas innapropriately used the platform of the NFL on NBC to air his personal views on gun control, relating to the recent muder suicide of a Kansas city Chiefs player and his girlfriend. His statement "If Jovan Belcher didn't possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today".

This comment is offensive to law abiding gun owners, to the families of those he referred to, as well as offensive to the NFL audience, who just wanted to enjoy a football game, and not hear a soapbox speach. Mr. Costas is paid very well to commentate on sports, we demand that he stay within the scope of his job.

11. Go Gold for Pediatric Cancer Awareness in the NFL for September 2013

Before reading this please realize that RECOMMENDING this petition on Facebook is NOT signing the petition. You must click the 'sign this petition' tab at the BOTTOM of the page to sign. NOT just hit recommend. Thank you, I hope that this reminder will help get more than half of the likes turned into actual signatures! Thank you, for taking the time to read and maybe sign this for a great cause!

The National Football League and Nike Inc., which is the company that designs their uniforms and equipment, has graciously dedicated the month of October to raising breast cancer awareness by making uniforms, gear, and everything pink. This is an incredible effort and the NFL and Nike have brought awareness to a terrible disease.

Unfortunately an equally terrible disease is pediatric cancer. Pediatric cancer is the number one killer of young children in America. Choosing between different forms of cancer is like trying to decide which of your own fingers you would like to cut off. There is no right and wrong decision as to which cancer is “worse” than the other. But, ask any mother or relative of a child that is dying from a terminal form of pediatric cancer and I guarantee the answer would be a resounding “Take my breasts, but let me keep my baby.”

Pediatric cancer research is dangerously underfunded and therefore the hope for a cure or treatment that could help countless sick children is even more far off than anyone would hope. There are many awareness efforts going on, but the research continues at a drip drop pace. Many sick children are being given treatment that was developed in the 1960s… we can do better for them.

The President of the United States of America has proclaimed September National Childhood Cancer Awareness month. This is why we will ask, no, beg, you to wear gold during the month of September 2013 and adorn the entire NFL with it in order to tell everyone that we need help. We need help supporting the research that gives hope to millions of sick children and their entire families. Go Gold!

Anyone that would like to submit a letter, however short or long that will be included with the petition when I send it to the NFL and politicians and EVERYONE in order to try to further convince these people to 'Go Gold!' it would be appreciated. Please either send them to the email address linked to this petition or to anna.tison1@gmail.com.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Go Gold!
Please read www.superty.org for an amazing story about one of the little super heroes that we are fighting for.

14. Settle the NFL Official CBA now!

Since the collapse of talks between the NFL and NFLRA followed by the lockout and strike of NFLRA officials, the fans of the NFL have had to endure what can only be described as a farce with regard to the playing of professional football games.

The complete ineptitude and inconsistent judgement as well as the lack of knowledge of very common NFL gameplay rules by woefully underqualified and undertrained officials have affected the outcomes of games, compromised the safety of those that risk themselves playing in those games, tarnished the standards and integrity of the NFL, and have negatively affected the attendance of live events as well as the viewing of broadcasted events.

Football is my only spectator hobby. I care deeply about it and have made it a very large part of my entertainment choices, including television watching, attending games, buying merchandise.

Let's do more than complain in blogs and analysts mailbags, let's show the NFL and it's employee unions that we are more than listless, viewing masses that sit back and take whatever awful product that give us.

15. Stop the Blackout of WTHR to Dish Network

Dispatch Broadcasting wants to charge Dish Network a 350%+ price increase to carry their channels! Dish refuses to pass that fee on to their customers so they have declined Dispatch broadcasting's offer and now Dispatch Broadcasting has blacked out WTHR, Indianapolis' NBC affiliate.

This is NOT true as many people, including myself, get every channel but WTHR! They also claim that we can stream it online, and yes we can, but I for one am hearing impaired and there are no captioning options for streaming live TV.

Dispatch Broadcasting is putting greed over providing for their loyal viewers. They may be trying to punish Dish Network, but in the end its only the customers who lose out!

16. Reinstate Sean Payton

Roger Goddell, NFL Commissioner, has suspended Sean Payton, New Orleans Saints Head Coach, for the entire 2012 season without pay as punishment for the "bounty" program implemented by former Defensive Coach, Greg Williams. There is no evidence Coach Payton was an active supporter of this program. His only offense was in not shutting it down when he did learn of its existence.

Throughout the history of football, every team has implemented incentives to its defensive players. While the motivational words to these defensive players was harsh and insensitive to the health and welfare of opposing players, not one Saints defensive player was fined or penalized for personal fouls on any of the identified "targets". There is no evidence to suggest that these particular players suffered more or were hit any harder than any other Saints' opponents.

The punishment handed down by Goodell is extreme and unwarranted when compared to the much more egregious conduct of the head coach of the New England Patriots, who over the course of several years, orchestrated a scheme to steal, and did steal, an opponent's game strategy in order to claim a play-off victory.

Goodell and the NFL are currently involved in litigation with former players over the NFL's failure to warn players of the potential for serious and permanent brain damage, and it is apparent NFL owners know they were wrong, and in an attempt to preemptively mitigate the future loss at trial is using the New Orleans Saints as a scapegoat in order to convince a jury player safety is top priority. Top priority is now, and has always been, PROFIT!

Throwing Sean Payton under the bus in order to avoid profit loss is strictly business and has absolutely nothing to do with concern for player safety.

18. Superbowl Saturday

'He who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery.' ~Harold Wilson

Who throws parties on Sundays?

Because of a longstanding association with Superbowl and Sunday, NFL lovers do.

However, the effort which goes into these parties, followed by inevitably intense revelry and/or depression by fans and admirers alike, does not suit a Sunday disposition.

Superbowl Saturday would allow us to embrace the game without fear of tomorrow. It would also allow for a day of reflection and recovery before the busy work week begins.

As the NFL ever expands into new markets, it is incumbent upon the league to recognize the ill effects that a Sunday Superbowl imposes on the world economy.

A Saturday Superbowl would allow millions of American churchgoers to fully participate in celebrations, creating new marketing possibilities for the NFL and their sponsor networks.

Holding the Pro Bowl on the following Sunday in the Superbowl city would also provide otherwise untapped marketing opportunities, and generally better interest in this otherwise milquetoast affair.

Superbowl Saturday has too many advantages to ignore.

Let's exercise our right to freedom of fun!
Let's keep the world economy rolling.

19. The NFL Must Tackle Human/Sex Trafficking

Gov. Mitch Daniels signed the Human Trafficking Bill into law January 30, 2012, saying he hopes it will “put up the ‘Don’t Try It Here’ sign in Indiana” just in time for a game that Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller says has a history of attracting increased activity in the commercial sex trade.

“Let’s hope that the law has a deterrent effect,” Daniels said, “and that these criminals will take their horrible business somewhere else.”

The law, which took effect immediately upon the governor affixing his signature, closes loopholes that have made it tougher for Indiana to prosecute those who have helped sell children into sexual slavery.
It also strikes a provision of state law that required prosecutors to prove that those who are accused of coercing children into sexual slavery used or threatened to use physical force to do so.

Advocates said it was the one step Indiana absolutely had to take before the game.

He know now the following statistics:

* Each year 1 million children are exploited by the commercial sex trade according to the U.S. Department of State, The Facts About Child Sex Tourism: 2005

* 100,000 to 293,000 U.S. children are in danger of becoming sexual commodities, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children

* 12 is the average age of entry into pornography and prostitution in the U.S., according to The US Department of Justice Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section

* 33% of a sample group of female commercial sex workers in Chicago began in the sex trade between the ages of 12 and 15, with 56% being 16 or younger according to an investigation conducted by Schiller DuCanto& Fleck Family Law Center.

With the Super Bowl comes this crime-sex trafficking

We ask the Commissioner of The National Football League "if your part of the problem, your against the solution" ! Be part of the solution and promote awareness of this global problem that follows the Super Bowl by advertising against the insidious crime that comes to large sporting events like the Super Bowl

20. Stop over penalizing NFL players and coaches!

Dear Mr. Goodell,

The fans of the NFL respectfully request that you reserve fining players and coaches for very serious offenses only.

Fining a coach $75,000 is egregious and offensive to the fans of the NFL.

Handing out a $10,000 fine for wearing orange colored cleats is offensive to the fans of the NFL.

Fining a player $15,000 for retaliating against another player's dirty play (who was only fined $7,500) is offensive to the fans of the NFL.

26. Jack Butler Should Be in the NFL Hall of Fame

Former Steeler defensive back Jack Butler deserves to be in the NFL Hall of Fame. Jack's playing statistics warrant his inclusion among the games greatest players.

His 52 interceptions and 10 recovered fumbles in 103 games constitute the highest recovered turnover percentage in NFL history.

His 46 years with BLESTO scouting should also easily qualify him for enshrinement as a "Contributor". Jack Butler's total 56-year body of work within the NFL is without parallel in it's history.

Dozens of NFL administrators, owners, former players, and Hall of Famers have written letters of recommendation on Jack's behalf. These people are professional football and consider Jack Butler to be one of the greatest contributors in it's history.

28. Bring back passer vision to Madden

In 2006, EA Sports added a new feature to its Madden video game franchise – QB passer vision, also known as the vision cone. The vision cone was meant to revolutionize the football videogame, allowing the user to read defenses and look off receivers as real NFL quarterbacks do (except Jamarcus Russell).

How it Worked

After snapping the ball, a semi-transparent white cone would emerge from the quarterback and spread over a portion of the field, representing the QB’s “vision”. The cone could be controlled by moving the right thumbstick left or right (representing the quarterback looking left or right to survey the field), or by holding down the left trigger button and hitting the button for any designated receiver (representing the quarterback quickly eyeing down one of his targets). When throwing to a receiver within your vision cone, your pass would be accurate. Attempting to throw to a receiver outside of your QB’s vision resulted in a steep accuracy penalty.

Quarterbacks of different awareness (a Madden stat used to measure a quarterback’s decision-making) had different sized cones – the better your quarterback, the bigger the cone (and thus the easier it was to pass the ball).

Why It Was So Good

Passer vision improved the realism, challenge, and overall gameplay of the Madden series.

Playing a football videogame is all about balancing the user’s abilities with the skills of the team he’s controlling. The essence of this is that it’s more challenging to play with inferior teams, as the user is handicapped by the capabilities of the team he’s controlling. The vision cone left the results of a play more in the hands of the user and less in a computer algorithm, adding challenge and variation into the passing game.

Mechanics

In both the passer vision and non-passer vision systems, there is a disadvantage to playing as a bad quarterback. The disadvantage in the passer vision world was that it was more difficult for the user to “hone in” on a receiver and thus throw an accurate pass. This increased the difficulty while leaving the overall result in the hands of the user. The regular system disadvantages poor quarterbacks by accuracy penalties. So, if you spot a receiver with a two yard lead on the coverage, a good quarterback is more likely to hit him in stride, and a poor quarterback is more likely to overthrow or underthrow the target, leading to a higher probability of an incomplete pass or an interception. In this case, the results are in the hands of the CPU, which uses a random number generator coupled with your QB’s accuracy rating to determine the precision of the pass.

With the passer cone, users were also able to look off receivers (this was done by focusing the vision on one side of the screen to draw the defense in that direction, only to quickly look the other way and pass to an open receiver). This is a real-life element of quarterbacking that is now absent in the game (viz., it’s in the game, but it’s not in the game).

Why It Went Away

There was a steep learning curve and people never gave it a chance. There are only two kinds of Madden players – those who loved the vision cone, and those who never got the hang of it.

Counter Arguments

Argument: Even without the passer cone, the passing game is still very challenging and in the hands of the user. The user must read the defense, avoid the pass rush, determine how much zip to put on the ball, etc.

Answer: True. But why make a game where you can do all that perfectly and then have the ball be intercepted due to a random variable?

Argument: The accuracy algorithms existed under the vision cone system too.

Answer: Also true, but they were de-emphasized when combined with the human element of the passer vision.

Conclusion

The passer vision should be brought back as an option in future installments of Madden. Those who prefer not to use it can disable it.
