1. MAXIMUM PENALTY FOR THE MAN WHO SHOT A DOG FOR TRESPASSING IN SALAMINA, GREECE

Το

Minister of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights, Mr. Kastanidis

Minister of Rural Development and Food, Mr.Skandalidis

Subject: OPEN LETTER - PROTEST

Α few days ago a terrible case of animal abuse took place for once again in Greece...

Chrisanthos Spiliotopoulos is the name of the man that last Wednesday witnessed and reported a horrible crime of animal abuse. Passing by Peristeriou Avenue in Salamina, with his car, this man heard two gun shots, and the next thing he witnessed was a man shooting for the third time, a dog, to finish him off, while that dog was trembling and writhing, and crying and streaming from the pain the bullets had caused him.

The killer, who is Retired of the Hellenic Navy, was annoyed because the dog, epaniel in race, entered his garden through an opening in the fence! He did not hesitate for not even a minute and executed the poor dog with 3 bullets in front of the eyes of his young son ! Trying to give him the “good” example !

The abuser, who was arrested yesterday, today was presented to the Public Prosecutor so that the charges would be announced to him, but his trial was postponed because of the legals’ strike, for January 16, at 13:00

http://www.occupyforanimals.org/greece-salamina--a-man-shot-in-cold-blood-a-stray-for-trespassing-his-garden.html

Unfortunately this is not an isolated incident of animal abuse, instead we re talking about a phenomenon that occurs extremely often, all over Greece, but in the area of Salamina lately has increased dangerously. Having in mind all the researches that proved that animal abusers rarely stop at the abuse of an animal, we consider that man to be even more dangerous than one would think…now it was a dog, tomorrow it could be his child… And since we all considered that Greek laws don’t apply to animal abusers but fortunately that seemed to change to the last incident with the man of Albania origin that sledgehammered the dogs in Mosxato, who was severely punished.

We demand:

The Maximum Penalty for the accused, making him an example for all animal abusers who commit so terrible crimes, in Greece and especially in the problematic area of Salamina.

Respectfully,
Animal lovers of the world.

3. Justice For Junior

On May 5th, 2010, Junior Alexander Manon, an 18 year old teenager, more commonly known as, TUBZ, was beaten to death by seven police officers from 31 Division, Toronto, Ontario. Junior's beating was the result of a short chase, that commenced after a "routine" stop in his car. The media has falsified this information by reporting his death as being due to cardiac arrest, despite the fact that, his body was found covered in his blood, he had bruised ribs, black and blue eyes and a broken neck. This information has also been omitted from news reports.

His ultimate cause of death was determined to be a broken neck. Unfortunately stories like this are not uncommon in certain parts of Toronto.

6. JUSTICE 4 MISTY LYNN GUILLORY UNSOLVED MURDER

My Name is Rhonda Guillory. My daughter Misty Lynn Guillory was Bruetally Murdered at the age of 15, in Lake Charles, La. on August 20, 2003. My daughter was Raped, thrown from a moving car, beaten, hit in the head causing blunt force trauma and then ran over with their car several times and left to lay dead in the middle of the road, while the men left the scene.

Photobucket

My daughter's body was found by a passer-by in the 4200 block of E. Prien Lake Road.

Detectives arrested three men based on the evidence in the case, but would not comment on their role in the murder. One of the accused came forward and confessed to his part in Misty's death. This made him an Eye Witness to the other mens' involved actions and participation.

Law Enforcement has my daughter's body, DNA, a Confession, and much more evidence, yet these three men were released back into society until this case can be further investigated.

My daughter Misty Lynn Guillory age 15, was Sentenced to spend the rest of her Life in a Grave, while her killers are free today to live life to the fullest and unpunished for their crime of Murder.

I beg of anyone who might have any information about this crime today, to please come forward to authorities and speak up to what you know to be the truth.

My daughter deserves Justice for her God given right to Life being taken away by these men.

I also beg the detectives, investigators, Prosecuting District Attorney, to please continue the search for the truth and hold accountable these men who took my child's life. Please don't ever give up and find the evidence you need to bring forth Justice 4 Misty today. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen Rhonda Guillory.

7. END THIS WAR!

STOP THIS WAR! Petition

Sign this Petition to oppose this war! Something must be done about this now.
Too many soldiers are dying, and many are getting captured and murdered. We
have larger concerns than war. Bush is not making the right decisions, and
does not listen to his own nation. We can’t win this war. We must fight other
wars like pollution, global warming, AIDS and hunger around the world. Did you
know that if we used all the spending money from this war, we would have
enough to end world hunger? So why are we still fighting?! We spend about
31% on current military, which is about $727 billion.* Sign it today!

8. Stop Crime in South Africa

July 14, 2006

5,000 people were killed on Sept 11, 2001 in America and the world "is at war".

21,000 people were murdered in South Africa last year, and rest of the world turns a blind eye!

An 8 month-old baby girl was raped to death by 5 men in Cape Town, South Africa, as they thought it would "cure their Aids".

A 24 year-old pregnant woman was repeatedly raped in her home in Birch Acres, Kempton Park, South Africa on Monday, January 08, 01.

A five-month pregnant woman, her husband and their five-year-old daughter were relaxing at home when four unknown men entered the house. The husband (32) was tied up and held at gunpoint while the suspects raped his wife in the dining room. The suspects then ransacked the house and took electrical appliances, household goods and clothing valued at about R20000.

No arrests have been made. The gruesome list goes on and on . . .
For once, this is a worthwhile message to pass on - for my friend Jeremy Sutton who was murdered, leaving his 8-month pregnant wife, Trish, behind - and for all others who have been touched by crime.

If Gary Teichmann can sign this so can all of us. One Sunday Times front page headlines stated:

STOP THIS HORROR
Toddler sodomised to death. 2-year-old girl sodomised so brutally, her wounds shocked doctors. Her anus and rectum were so severely injured that medical staff could literally see 3cm inside her body. The rapist walks free after police corrupted her file.

Dear Friends Chris Duncan here. I know a lot of you have received petitions like this before and many more like it.
I also know that there is a serious problem in South Africa. I know a lot of you don't feel that there is much of a problem and refuse to be part of petitions to stop murder. I ask you now, please: If you refuse to do a simple thing like placing a name to a list in an attempt to bring it to the attention of your leaders, what are you doing that the rest of us don't know about to stop it?

Even if it's to clear your conscience so that in a small way you can say you did something, it is worth it.
What would it take for you to suddenly spring into action?

Should your child, wife or husband need to be killed first?
Please think about it and think perhaps it can help instead of "what good will it do?"

Following the latest child killings in Cape Town, I hope Cape Tonians and South Africans in general are prepared to take a stand to stop all this crime. For our son Peter Marks who was brutally beaten to death leaving a young wife and son of eight months and devastated family behind and for all others who have been touched by crime.

10. Justice For Tharsini (University Campaign)

January 17, 2006

In December 2005, 20 year old Tharsini, a pre school teacher in the Sri Lankan army occupied Northern Tamil island of Pungudutivu, was gang raped and murdered, allegedly by members of the Sri Lankan Military; her body found in a well next to a Sri Lankan Military camp.

She was murdered in a government designated 'high security zone' where civilians live, which means that access in and out of the zone is tightly controlled by soldiers. The evidence of the Sri Lankan Military's involvement in the rape, murder and attempted cover up, is extensively documented in a report by the North Easter Secretariat for Human Rights (www.nesohr.org) whose founder member Jospeph Pararajasingham has since been shot allegedly by Sri Lankan military intelligence.

The Pungudituvu Cooperative Society has said in a press release that the Sri Lankan Navy should take responsibility for the murder and has appealed for international action to ensure that women in their island and in neightbouring areas can live without fear of violence from the occupying army. T

We, the undersigned join the students of the University of Jaffna in their concern and ask for action by the British government and the European Union, to ensure accountability and to prevent future sexual abuse of women in army occupied areas. As we draft this appeal a 16 year old school girl in another part of Jaffna was abducted on her way home from school by Sri Lankan soldiers. Your immediate preventive action is asked for.

Many of those who have appealed for justice for Tharsini so far have been intimidated and some shot by the Sri Lankan Army & Navy.

· When her body was found, residents protested against the Sri Lankan Navy. A 55 year old post man was shot by the Sri Lankan armed forces.

· The University of Jaffna, both its professors and students, then took up the protest. They too, including the Vice Chancellor, Professors and students were assaulted and shot by the Sri Lankan Army.

· Mr Gajendran, TNA Member of Parliament for Jaffna who joined the protest march for justice for Tharsini was injured by the Sri Lankan Army. The TNA party protested in Parliament. But on Christmas Eve, after the protest, the TNA's leading parliamentarian Joseph Pararajasingham was also shot.

· Journalists who covered the protests were assaulted.

We the undersigned, who are students and alumni of British universities who live in Britain in safety, now join the Universtiy of Jaffna in expressing concern and take up this appeal for immediate and unequivocal action as outlined below.

11. Stop the murder of infant and baby girls in China

Little baby girls are being murdered in China and thrown out on the curbs, or streets, or in the garbage, or dumpsters. Its not illegal over there because there is a limit on the citizens to only bear two children.

The men want to carry on their name so they murder their daughters so they can have sons. They throw their murdered babies in the streets like they are pure garbage. This is disgusting. So many people that cant have babies and these little girls are being killed. You should love your biological children whether they can carry on your name or not. Its sick minded to kill an infant and toss her in the road.

14. Try Maj. Gen. Janaka Perera at the International War Crimes Tribunal

An iceberg, only the tip of which is evident to the world so far, is beginning to surface in the Indian Ocean island of Sri Lanka.

The world, which is only superficially aware of the terrible human rights record of this island country, is beginning to see more. Being the country with the world's second largest number of detainee disappearances, many have come to know that things are not quite right in Sri Lanka. By clever manipulation of the media, ably assisted by high-profile public relations firms, Sri Lanka has largely managed to keep matters under wraps. With three-quarters of the population, comprised of a single ethnic group that is willing to assist the state, an oppressive (genocidal) war against the 'other quarter' has gone on for more than two decades, relentlessly. The government, which has been responsible for 98 percent of the killings, has thus far managed to portray itself as the 'victim', and the 'real victims' as the 'villains'.

With the appointment of alleged Sri Lankan war criminals in diplomatic positions around the world, voices that have remained silent for many years are now beginning to echo across the globe. The appointment of Major General Janaka Perera as the ambassador to Australia is one that has begun to shake the chains of suppressed voices. The iceberg is lifting; things are now beginning to unravel. Events that were hidden in the media censored Northeastern Sri Lanka are now coming to surface.

The majority of disappearances in Sri Lanka occurred in short spurts, at specific times and in different parts of the country. Many of these disappearances are marked by one common feature, that is the presence of Maj. Gen. Janaka Perera in charge as the ranking officer of the military outfits responsible.

In the mid-eighties, Gen. Perera worked in the eastern province helping to create a wedge, breaking up the contiguity of Thamil Eelam, the Tamil Nation, comprising of the North and East of Sri Lanka. The area connecting the North and East was ethnically cleansed of Tamil people. Tamil villages were evacuated at gunpoint, hundreds were murdered and others fled out of fear, to make way for State sponsored Sinhala settlements. As a reward for this 'heroic' act a Tamil village (Munkindimalai) was renamed Janakapura (Janaka Town).

The accusations against Perera do not rest with the disappearances of Tamils alone. His notoriety was well documented between 1988 and 1989 when he was reassigned to the south of the country to fight the Sinhala, JVP insurrection. Under his direction, in November 1989, the JVP leader Rohana Wijeweera was arrested and murdered (while still in custody). An estimated 60,000 Sinhala youths were also murdered during this time.

In 1995, he was appointed as Commander for the Welioya Brigade. Large-scale civilian killings took place in Manal Aru (Weli Oya) during this period.

President Kumaratunga's decision to resume the war against the LTTE in October 1995 propelled Perera back into a position of power. He was appointed commander of the elite 53rd Division of the Sri Lankan army which played a key role in 'Operation Riviresa'.

It was during this period that the Mass Grave of Chemmani came into being; these were supplemented by several others that scattered the landscape of Jaffna Peninsula. Over a thousand Tamil civilians arrested by the security forces disappeared (Amnesty International, the international rights watch dog, estimates at least six hundred while the US State Department states a figure of seven hundred), in the area under Janaka Perera's command. Despite widespread rumors, these disappearances could not be verified because of the media ban on the war zones. The presence of these mass graves came to light in July 1998, through the confessions of an army corporal convicted of rape and murder. Over a fourteen-month period following this confession, the area was completely sealed off, and the evidence was allegedly destroyed.

Things started to sour when the cult like admiration for Perera began to have political dimensions. Retried General Balagalle's appointment as the Joint Chief-of-Staff in August 2000, over Janaka Perera who was next in line for the job, led to public acrimony with open accusations of corruption. It is in this backdrop that Perera retired and was appointed ambassador to Australia.

Any investigation into Perera's activities to date has been staged by the Sri Lankan State and has brought up flimsy evidence, of no value.

We, the undersigned, urge the Australian Government to review its acceptance of Maj. General Janaka Perera as Sri Lanka's ambassador to Australia and instigate an international inquiry into the Ambassador's alleged war criminal activities.
