1. Capital Punishment is Unfair in America

Capital Punishment is unfair in America. It is unjust to be killing other humans, since by killing people doesn't that make us criminals too?

There are alternatives and caputal punishment is applied in such inhumane ways it makes us also killers. We can make a change today. Let's get the word out.

2. Support Oklahoma Dogs Rights

I am addressing legislators on a concern from pet owners residing in the state of Oklahoma, specifically the city of Moore. It has come to our attention that the interpretation of the animal laws seem to be unfair and unjust in this state.

I understand laws are needed to protect residences within the state, but some cities such as Moore take the law concerning pets to the extreme . It seems the law is being used as a strict black and white policy , with no room for discussion.

Surely, these laws were not intended to “dispose” of people’s pets that are considered family, when a small mistake is made and the animals get out on a rare occasion. I truly believe this law was intended for animals that are dangerous to the community or for strays.

The law at this time is unclear and the City of Moore has deemed dogs dangerous and threatened and terminated animals lives on the weak foundations such as: being “seen” out by a mincing neighbor but when animal control gets there they are not out and no sign that they have been. It is also unjust to terminate the life of a dog because they rarely get out and have never caused harm.

This should not be allowed. Please sign this petition if you are a resident of the STATE of Oklahoma although I do appreciate global support the petition is only valid for the state residences.

3. Stop Unnecessary Quarantine For Pets Entering Australia

At present, there is compulsory quarantine for all pets entering Australia, from 1 month to 6 months depending on where the animal is coming from. There are also some countries from which animals must complete 6 months quarantine in another country before being allowed to do some quarantine in Australia.

Apart from the fact that quarantine is exorbitantly expensive it is also considered inhumane in many countries, particularly when pets are coming from countries that do not have rabies or vaccination rules that are equally stringent to Australia.

Europe introduced the PETS program which allows pets from most countries in Europe and a large number or non European countries (including Australia) to move freely around Continental Europe and the UK without any quarantine.

Animals face an extremely long and stressful flight from other countries to Australia and are then expected to stay in a concrete floored barred cell for at least one month rather than experiencing the comfort of being with their families. It is true that families are allowed to visit their pets, but quarantine places are usually in distant locations with their permitted visiting hours usually only during working hours, when presumably pet owners will be at work.

4. Justice Gone Wrong: Free Andre Axam

How does society allow a success story – a victory – to end in tragedy?

George Andre Axam was addicted to drugs for more than20 years, before he made up his mind to turn his life around and become again the man his family and his friends knew him to be. Every day in that time, he hustled a life on the streets to support his drug habit.

Twenty years earlier, he had been a loving son, a caring brother, and a devoted father. And then, to everyone’s surprise, he fell prey to drug addiction. He abandoned his children to his mother and father, and became someone his parents, his siblings and his own children hardly recognized as son or brother or father.

It was inevitable that he would become involved with the criminal justice system. Over his 20 year detour he has been convicted of several crimes – all petty, and none worthy of a 15 year sentence:
• He stole several cartons of cigarettes from a store.
• He was arrested for a possession of a very small
amount of cocaine.
• He committed fraud at Home Depot in the amount
of $500.00.
• He fired a hand gun in the air because he feared
for his physical safety.

Admittedly, all of these actions are wrong, but he has never endangered the life of another human being. After serving 2 years and 3 months for the probation violation, federal Judge Marvin Shoob reviewed Andre’s case and circumstances and declared, “the court finds that defendant is a small-time burglar suffering from a decade-long drug addiction, that he’s never been violent, and that he is in need of drug rehabilitation.” (page 5 of 18, Hearing Transcript February 2003). In February 2003, Andre was released by Judge Shoob and placed on probation. He was released and placed on probation and in that window of freedom he demonstrated beyond any reasonable doubt that he had been rehabilitated.

Drug free, he reconnected with his family and friends. He bought a new home for his family of six sons, one daughter and 4 grandchildren. He became a productive entrepreneur supporting his re-united family with profits from a cleaning business he started while successfully reporting monthly to the probation office following his release.

In that window of freedom he was clearly re-building a lost life. He had a successful and growing business. He counseled his children to learn from his mistakes and not repeat them. He testified to all who would listen, that he was ecstatic to be himself again - the person his father and his siblings and his children knew so well, -- complete with dreams for his business and successful careers for his children. He demonstrated his successful rehabilitation by giving back; working with others who had a drug addiction, leading a Christian life and working very hard at being a good father.

5. End The Equine Holocaust In Canada

It is an absolute disgrace that Agriculture Canada supports the slaughter of horses to be sold for human consumption in the name of the almighty dollar.

Canada's Dr. Brian Evans of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency states that Canada has strict laws and regulations that “animals are handled and transported humanely.” What is humane about double-decker transport trucks carrying horses sometimes for days, with no food or water, to their demise? Some of them don’t even make it there alive.

Horses have proven themselves to be therapeutic to children and adults alike with disabilities, children and women who have been abused; they’ve plowed our fields, they’ve round up our livestock, they’ve hauled our lumber, they’ve served on our Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and they are our pets – yet our government condones their slaughter? Horses have been domesticated just as dogs and cats have been for years now. This country supplies the European food market with horsemeat; does this mean that we will soon be supplying the Asian food market with cat and dog meat? Where does it end? This entire issue is appalling and disgraceful.

North American was built on the backs of horses and this is how we repay them? Horses are not and should not be auctioned to slaughterhouses for food. If any horse is not purchased by an individual wanting a horse at an auction, any horses left should be humanely euthanized by a Veterinarian on-site so that they are not purchased en masse by kill buyers and transported for slaughter. If these “pets and companions” (to quote Dr. Evans) need to be killed because of age or illness, they should be properly euthanized either by a Veterinarian or the SPCA.

Horses should not be eaten. HORSE SLAUGHTER MUST BE BANNED. It's sickening, it is barbaric and it must be stopped. We want the Canadian laws to change so that Horse Slaughter is outlawed as a criminal offence in this country.

6. Brumbies are Beautiful

There has been much talk of the issue of Brumby Culling on the internet since 2007, when the first culls were carried out by the Federal Government.

Also, citizens have taken it into their own hands and started culling the horses themselves.

No matter who it is done by, it is inhumane and Australia's Heritage Brumbies should be protected, not culled.

7. 5,000,000 to Stop This Horrific Inhumane Massacre of Helpless Baby Seals

During Canada's annual seal massacre, hundreds of thousands of baby seals have their skulls crushed, all for the sake of "fashion." Sealers routinely hook seals in the eye, cheek, or mouth to avoid damaging the pelt, then drag the seals across the ice, in many cases without checking to ensure that they are unconscious.

Baby seals stand no chance against club-wielding trappers, and they must look on as fellow pups are bludgeoned to death before meeting the same bloody fate. The anguish that a mother seal feels as she watches her baby being beaten to death just a few feet away from her is horrifying and can be heard in her desperate cries and seen in her attempts to get to her baby.

9. Stop Live Skinning of Cats and Dogs

Millions of cats and dogs are bred in inhumane conditions and sold to markets for their meat, or skinned (sometimes not completely unconscious) for their fur. The methods at which these animals are slaughtered are cruel and must be stopped immediately.

Video footage of slaughter houses and pictures of how the animals are transported provide irrefutable evidence that such cruel practices are still taking place, particularly in China and Korea. Fur pelts are sold to the US very cheaply and may be mislabeled as faux fur. And because cat/dog fur is so cheaply acquired, recent reports have shown evidence of them being mixed into other materials, and found on cheap, everyday products like stuff toys and pencil cases. More information may be obtained here:

Many animal welfare organizations and humane societies have protested against the fur trade, as well as the inhumane killing of cats and dogs for meat. They include PETA, Friends of Dogs, Animal Saviors, International Aid for Korean Animals, etc. Through education and awareness, we hope to change hearts and minds, and eventually change laws. The objective of this petition is to raise awareness for this issue and to gather support from people all over the world. With your support, we hope that this practice will be banned on grounds of inhumanity. Please send this link to all your friends and family now.

10. Stop Canadian Seal Hunt

Canada’s seal hunt is a cruel and inhumane way to kill and hurt an innocent animal, and like many people, I want to put an end to it. Each year, baby seals are killed for their fur. Since, for every bullet hole, 2 dollars are taken off, most people prefer not to shoot them. Instead, they use clubs with metal hooks on the end to hit the seals with.

In fact, in 2001, an independent team of veterinarians studied the hunt and saw that the normal regulations and basic animal welfare rights weren’t being followed. Some of the seals had even been skinned while they were still alive.

Even when the hunting goes above the limit, the government doesn’t do anything to stop it. And if you’re wondering, stopping the seal hunt wouldn’t hurt Canada’s economy since it’s an off-season activity. Yet the government still provides thousands of dollars for the development of seal products. A lot of taxpayer money can go into this, too.

Hundreds of thousands of seals are killed each year. In the 2006 hunt, the government allowed a lot more than 350 000 seals to be clubbed and shot. The last time seals were killed like this, the harp seal population went down by almost two thirds. The actual number of seals killed is probably higher than this since many seals are wounded and left to fall into the water, where they die and are never recovered.

Nearly one million seals have been killed in the past the three years alone, and there’s more to come.

11. Cease Coyote Hunting on Niagara 12 Landfill

This petition is in response to a motion made on Sept 3, 2008 by Public Works Committee to permit members of the Ontario Federation of Hunters and Anglers to enter the Niagara Road 12 Landfill areas to hunt and kill coyotes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Some valid information pertaining to the humane control of coyotes in California:
-A state that had an on-going problem with coyotes. However, in the past decade California has shown positive results with non-lethal coyote control. By sharing some of their studies and public information, it may shed light on how to respond to the situation in our own back yard.
The California Statistics Service found that in areas where coyote populations have been lethally controlled, the ratio of females to males increase and animals from outside areas quickly fill the void! Coyote control causes an increase in litter size (from 4 to 10 pups) and increases the number of yearling females breeding. Like wolves, coyotes allow only the alpha pair to breed and disruptions to the pack cause all females within that pack to breed.
Killing Coyotes Increases Overall Coyote Populations!
Lethal control techniques have ensured that only the most resilient coyotes survive, resulting in the creation of a "super coyote.' Non-lethal predator controls appear to be cheaper and more efficient in the long term.
Non-lethal predator control methods have proven, in California, to
effectively and humanely ward off predators without disrupting ecosystems. Successful methods include the use of guard dogs, mixing sheep with cattle, frightening devices, fencing, penning during lambing and calving , and the removal of carcasses from birthing areas. Using two or more of these techniques together have dramatically reduced the need for lethal predator control in the state of California.
These non-lethal methods allow wild animals to maintain their important roles in the ecosystem. Since coyotes eat mostly rodents, not sheep, some local farmers say that leaving the coyotes alone helps reduce rodent problems on their land. As well, coyotes control the deer population.
The California Statistics Service also found that for cattle and calf deaths, coyotes caused 1.6% of all deaths and those predators overall only caused 2.7% of cattle and calf deaths. Other causes of death were far greater: digestive problems, respiratory problems, unknown causes, birthing, weather, poison and theft.
While the percentage of damage actually caused to livestock was relatively low, the cost of lethal wildlife control was high. When state and local contributions were added, coyotes killed at an average cost easily exceeding $100 per animal. Costs sometimes exceeded $2,000 per animal. It was reported that in every western state, the cost of Wildlife Service's livestock protection work exceeded reported livestock losses.
Inhumane trapping and killing is NOT an effective means of controlling wildlife!
Only deterrence is effective and proper fencing has proven to be 100% effective- it's also cheaper and safer, since coyotes primarily come out at night.
Here is some information on coyotes and ways to deter them.
Chickens, rabbits and other small animals often kept outdoors should be kept in well-protected areas and in sturdy cages at night. Cages made of chicken wire will not keep desperate coyotes or other predators from entering. Stronger gauge wiring is a necessity in protecting these small animals.
If you follow these guidelines, you will not only keep coyotes away but also other wildlife, stray dogs, feral cats and robbers.
Keep your cat or small dog indoors. You wouldn't leave a pile of money sitting out on the street. Don't leave your pet out there either in coyote territory. Coyotes are actually the least of your pet's worries. Your pet can be killed by cars, dogs, cats, kids, poison...
Accompany your small dog on a leash in a well-lighted area at night for walks. It's best to walk small dogs on a leash in the daytime.
Fence your property with tall solid fences buried under the ground with "Coyote Roller" on top, or angled with barbed wire.
Don't allow pets to roam from home, especially at night
Don't leave water bowls for pets outdoors
Don't leave garbage containers open
Don't trap them. They rarely get in a trap and it's expensive. Coyotes roam
100 miles so unless you're willing to follow across the country, it will
rarely keep that one coyote away and may cause two more coyotes to come and
fight for the new territory.
Block all entrances to the crawl space under your house so they can't den.
Don't leave pet food outside, particularly at night
Don't poison them- you will end up poisoning your cat, dog, kids besides attracting raccoons, insects and disease. It's not even effective.
Don't shoot them. They are generally only visible at night. If you try to
shoot one, you will probably shoot your neighbor or dog instead. It's also illegal to shoot a firearm in most cities, counties or near homes.
12. Free the Dancing Bears!
Even though it is illegal to capture bears in both India and Pakistan, more than 1,600 sloth bears are being forced to dance by madaris, the people who capture and keep the bears.
For years sloth bear cubs in India have been poached and tortured through brutal training methods to become Dancing Bears, forced to perform for tourists. At less than 4 weeks of age, the cub is stolen from its mother who is often killed while trying to protect her cubs. Sold to traders and middlemen at underground markets, trauma, malnutrition and shock accounts for a mortality rate of more than 50%.
The surviving bear cubs are sold to Kalanders who will teach them to dance.
At the tender age of 4 months, the cubs canine teeth are knocked out. A red hot iron needle pierces its muzzle, and a coarse rope is pulled through. The wound is never allowed to heal, and the cub will live in fear, hunger and pain, tied to a stake for the rest of its life.
Many cubs die before the training begins because of the stress of capture, the terrible transportation conditions, starvation, dehydration, and rough handling. Although bears used in these acts would live up to 30 years in the wild, they rarely live more than eight years in captivity.
13. Horse slaughter is extremely inhumane!
Horse slaughter is extremely inhumane! Many people do not realize how awful these horses are treated.
Currently, three foreign-owned slaughterhouses in the United States are killing horses for human consumption. They are in Ft. Worth, Texas; Dallas Crown in Kaufman, Texas and Cavel International in DeKalb, Illinois.
According to the US Department of Agriculture over 100,000 horses were slaughtered in 2006. In addition to the horses killed in the three US-based plants, thousands more are transported under deplorable conditions across our borders into Canada and Mexico to be slaughtered.
Conditions of transport are appalling. Horses are typically hauled for more than 24 hours without rest, water or food in trailers that provide little protection from weather extremes. They are often forced onto cattle trailers with ceilings so low they injure their heads. Many horses—sick, lame, pregnant or blind—are in distress even before being loaded.
Once at the slaughterhouse, the suffering continues unabated. Horses are left for long periods in tightly packed trailers, subjected to further extremes of heat and cold. In hot weather, thirst is acute. Downed animals are unable to rise. All the horses are moved off forcibly when it’s time to unload. Callous workers, using fiberglass rods or electric prods, poke and beat the horses’ faces, necks, backs and legs as they are shoved through the facility and into the kill box.
Subject to extreme overcrowding, abuse, deafening sounds and the smell of blood, the horses become more and more desperate, exhibiting fear typical of “flight” behavior—pacing in prance-like movements with their ears pinned back against their heads and eyes wide open.
Despite the federal mandate that horses be rendered unconscious before having their throats slit, repeated blows with captive bolt pistols are often necessary to stun the animals. Terrified horses writhe in the holding stalls (known as the “kill box”), legs buckling under their weight after each traumatic, misguided and ineffective blow to their heads. Death, the final betrayal of these noble animals, is protracted and excruciating.
Prior to the closure of all three foreign-owned plans in the U.S., over 100,000 horses were being slaughtered in the United States and processed for human consumption. Now, tens of thousands of live horses are transported across the border to Mexico and Canada for slaughter. After these horses are killed, their flesh is shipped to Europe and Asia for human consumption. Their owners are often unaware of the pain, fear, and suffering their horses endure before being slaughtered.
Some myths about horse slaughter:
Myth: Horse slaughter is a form of humane euthanasia.
Fact: Horse slaughter is a far cry from humane euthanasia.
"Euthanasia" means a gentle, painless death provided in order to prevent suffering. Horse slaughter is a death fraught with terror, pain, and suffering. Horses are shipped for more than 24 hours at a time in crowded double-decker cattle trucks without food, water, or rest. Pregnant mares, foals, injured horses, and even blind horses must endure the journey.
Once they arrive, their suffering intensifies—undercover footage obtained by The Humane Society of the United States demonstrates that fully conscious horses are shackled and hoisted by the rear leg and have their throats slit. Because horses are skittish by nature, it is particularly difficult to align them correctly and ensure the captive bolt stun gun renders them unconscious.
Unwanted horses should be humanely euthanized by a licensed veterinarian when no other option exists, rather than placed on a truck, cruelly transported, and then butchered. Most horse owners already use humane euthanasia for their older or ill horses.
Even though the states have shut their plants, our horses are still being subjected to intense suffering and abuse though transport and slaughter over the border. Undercover footage shows live horses being dragged, whipped, and crammed into trucks in 110 degrees on their way to a horrific form of slaughter in Mexico and Canada. These horses are stabbed multiple times in the neck with a "puntilla knife" to sever their spinal cords. This procedure does not render the horse unconscious, and is not a stunning method. Rather, it paralyzes the horse, leaving him/her twitching on the ground, unable to move or breathe, and then they die from suffocation (because their lungs stop working) or from blood loss during dismemberment.
You can make a difference! Please help by signing this petition! We must stop the way these horses are being killed!!!
14. Stop Inhumane Euthanizing of Animals in Shelters
The mission of this petition is to stop the killing of adoptable animals in shelters. We are asking that every county in every state stop euthanizing adoptable animals in shelters. Every day there are thousands of animals that are dragged into gas chambers, stuck with heart sticks or euthanized by lethal injection. There are approximately 5 million dogs and puppies and many more millions of cats and kittens that are needlessly put to death every year in this country alone. America needs new and relatively obvious laws-- such as laws making it mandatory to spay and neuter every adopted pet and outlawing puppy mill breeding. These two changes would drastically reduce the huge numbers of animals being taken in to the shelters annually.
Most people care deeply for their pets and for animals in general, but they are unaware of how many are put to death--some by horrifically inhumane means every day. Please sign this petition to end the currently legal and inhumane killing of these loving animals--they are counting on us to save them! What an undertaking we are undertaking. But what a glorious feeling we will have when the impossible is achieved! And we can do it! It takes effort by everyone, to contact not just their friends, but their friends of friends! This grassroots effort could really give us the miracle these animals need. Thank you for signing this petition and for caring.
For those who cannot see past the enormity of the problem, and who is to blame, I completely agree that the numbers are astronomical and money is an issue, but, let's face it, we've had YEARS to start chipping away at the problem and the circumstances that created it. Yes, some owners SHOULD be more responsible, but really in the long run, does it matter? Mandatory spay and neuter clinics and a trust fund created at the local levels to help those who need help feeding and caring for their pets to draw upon are needed.
Additionally it costs taxpayers in the capital of California alone, approximately $308.00 per animal abandoned at the public shelters. There would be significant savings for tax-payers with an investment into subsidized spay/neuter programs, an infinitely more humane alternative to animal slaughter.There are more points to consider, but you see how we have to start somewhere, to bring enough people together ( power in numbers!) to effect changes once and for all! And as for the need to euthanize because of too many unwanted pets right now? Fine, but do it humanely at least. Gassing the sick, the elderly, the young, or the pregnant animals is illegal in most states because these animals cannot breathe in enough of the gas to kill them.
The entire process of gassing these animals can take as long as 40 minutes to complete. While the animals are in this gas chamber even before the gassing begins the animals can get very frightened and start to fight and as the gas starts to fill the chamber the animals start to howl for release. Even though these animals are unconscious within a couple of minutes, they slowly die from lack of oxygen. And heartsticks, and bashing and all the other violent means are sick and completely uncalled for.
Signing this petition shows our legislators that we are civilized and will no longer pay with our tax money for these atrocities. There is so much suffering in the world and so many innocents who suffer in silence that we are helpless to help. These innocents are within are power to help.
This is why I ask you to reconsider and sign this petition. Thank you!
15. Ban all animals Circuses and all animal acts! speak for those who can't speak for themselves
Animals exploited for human entertainment face appalling treatment, pose threats to public health and safety, are currently not adequately regulated by state and federal laws, and do not conserve endangered species as is so often claimed.
I strongly believe that the standard industry tools and methods used to initially "break" and train animals throughout their lives, including the bullhook, chaining, food and water deprivation, use of whips, clubs and blunt objects, and electric prods, are incredibly inhumane. In addition, subjecting circus animals to travel for up to 11 months of the year for thousands of hours, over long distances, is unspeakably cruel. As you know, these animals may be chained while not performing, transported in vehicles that lack climate control, and forced to stand or lie in their own waste.
Wild animals used in public displays are dangerous — and even deadly. Recent incidents nationwide highlight the need for tighter restrictions on the exhibition of these animals. In addition to the many documented escapes and attacks by captive animals used for exhibition, elephants may carry tuberculosis (TB), and can infect humans with the bacterial disease.
Circuses are entertainment, not education. Watching wild animals perform unnatural tricks only teaches our children that it is acceptable to exploit animals; it does not teach respect for animals, nor does it help animals in the wild. Animal-free circuses and entertainment, such as Cole Brothers Circus and Cirque du Soleil, are growing as the use of wild animals becomes recognized as archaic, unsafe and inhumane.
For the sake of human safety and animal welfare, please stop using animals in Carson &Barnes,Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey.
People who support the circus should be ashamed of themselves. To sit there and watch these animals suffer a lot of them die and kill people. Do you blame them? I am so angry about this and how can you buy a show and sit there and watch them suffer?
19. Stop the Rodeo in Martin County!
This petition is being started due to the public outcry of inhumane treatment to animals. The following letter aims to stop the rodeo in Martin County.
Robert L. Crowder. Sheriff
Martin County Office of Sheriff
800 SE Monterey Road
Stuart, Florida 34994
September 10, 2005
Dear Sheriff Crowder,
We are the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of the Treasure Coast. As such, we are dismayed to learn the office of sheriff is sponsoring a harsh, cruel event which inflicts pain on animals. The forthcoming rodeo fund raiser for the Florida Sheriff Youth Ranches is unacceptable and out of character to all the positive things you have done for animals in this community. Our organization is getting complaints about this on a daily basis. It would be an understatement to state that many people are very upset.
Rodeo attractions including tight straps about the abdomen and genitals of horses to make them "buck", the use of electric prods with electric currents to get the horses and cattle running, chasing and roping/tying of cattle and young calves are just a few of the cruel, painful events instilled on these victimized animals.
Encouraging inhumane episodes, especially in full view of children, is contradictory to our mission of kindness and compassion for all creatures. It is especially disturbing since many animal organizations here have worked together with your office to prohibit inhumane acts on animals in Martin County.
Martin County Animal Control Division protects the community against cruelty to animals, while Martin County Sheriff Department promotes it.
20. Stop Cruelty at Rosarito (Baja California) Dog Pound
Electrocution is used as a means of destroying animals at the Rosarito Dog Pound at Rosarito, Mexico (a beach town in Baja California), located 30 minutes south of San Diego.
The picture you see of the dog here, was taken by a news-reporter from Fox 6 News of San Diego. Although hard to see in this small photo, the dog is lying in his pool of blood from a serious cut to his leg. He will not receive any medical attention...and later, will be electrocuted to death.
The Humane Society has issued a statement informing that lethal injection is the only humane form of euthanasia. This is a major atrocity that needs to be rectified immediately. Please tell others about this and about this petition and hopefully we can make a difference!
Iams/Eukanuba does research on animals for their products which may not sound bad, but they first spay female cats, and make them eat so much food and make them unhealthily fat. They then starve the cats to do research about weight loss.
They also do stuff to puppies. They inject toxins into the puppies bodies so their kidneys don't function as well. They then kill the puppies.
Take a stand against this inhumane treatment!!!
22. Ban Cosmetic Testing on Animals
Testing cosmetics on animals for the benefit of humans is cruel and inhumane. There is no excuse for putting beauty products such as foot scrub into an animals' eye to watch them squirm in agony of the burning chemicals.
It is also wrong to smear liquid make-up onto a cat's shiney coat and wait for it to cake on, just to see if it will be an all-day wear make-up.
I don't think you would like to spend your entire day locked in a cage, then taken out to have chemicals in or on you, and then left in your cage to suffer in pain. I am here to petition against the testing of human-used products on animals.
I hope you agree with what I have to say on this matter and sign this petition.
25. Rattle snake round ups!
Each year, about thirty rattlesnake round-ups are held in seven states: Alabama, Georgia, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Texas. A recent year-long investigation into these events has revealed that:
Rattlesnake roundups are grossly inhumane. Snakes are driven from resting areas with toxic chemicals including gasoline, are held for weeks or months without food or water in crowded and unsanitary conditions, are roughly handled during roundups (including kicking, stomping, and whipping), are often skinned alive or have their mouths sewn shut, and are killed using methods that are inappropriate for reptiles.
26. Iraq
Since the Gulf War, the United States' sanctions on Iraq have killed over 700,000 children.
This crime of a mass scale has sent an uproar throughout the world - so much so that the very nation that Iraq attacked has violated the sanctions and sent aid to Iraq's children.
This crime is so inhumane that prominent individuals like Doctors, Entertainers and other professionals from the United States have donated goods to Iraq. Some entertainers like Val Kilmer even went there to express their sentiments for the children.
Wars happen - but inhumane systematic holocaust of children should not accepted.
