We say no to that.
2. Australians Reject Beef Imports From BSE (Mad Cow) Affected Countries
On 1st March 2010, the Australian Government lifted the ban on Beef imports from countries which are affected by BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy or Mad Cow Disease). On 8th March, an Import Risk Assessment Analysis (IRA) was announced in response to public outcry and a lack of supporting scientific consideration.
The IRA could take up to 2 years to complete and will only focus on implications for animal - not human - health.
3. Stop Potential BSE (Mad Cow) Beef Imports to Australia
On 20 October 2009, the Australian Government announced a change in Australia’s BSE (Mad Cow) food safety policy for imported beef and beef products.
This means from the 1st March 2010 beef imports will be allowed from countries with a history of mad cow disease which clearly pose potential health risks unless strictly managed before they are sent to Australia.

The Book: Mad Sheep
Mad Cow Disease is only one of a deadly family of diseases called Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy or TSEs (seemingly caused by Prions). TSEs are arguably more deadly than cancer, AIDs or biological or chemical weapons.
