Bradford MD Council are cutting the opening hours at Bingley Pool from 11 April, with no consultation with users and very little notice.
The new opening hours will mean only 23 hours of public swimming per week, with many of these sessions being restricted to particular groups.
The swimming pool will be closed to the public on MONDAYS and SATURDAYS.
All weekday early morning swims have been cut, along with a reduction in lunchtime swims and there will be no Fun Splash session.
The gym has also had it's hours restricted with early morning access only on a Sunday.
Users are concerned that this is a step towards total closure of the facility.
2. Save Elizabeth Bradford Holbrooks Stone Panels From Demolition
In 1954 the Canadian noted Canadian sculptor Elizabeth Bradford Holbrook was commissioned by the government to create 8 large relief stone panels for the facade of the Federal Building in downtown Hamilton, Ontario.
These works of art today are regarded as historically significant as they depict the then thriving wildlife and industry in Canada. Images carved by Holbrook include the now endangered species of the Caribou, Grizzly Bear and Beaver as well as threatened industries such as cod fishing, mining and lumbering. All once a vital part of our nations history and still today topics of relevant concern.
Mr. Vranich, President of Burlington-based Vrancor Group, bought the federal building in 2004 for a condo project, but the structure has been vacant since. In 2008 the city took back a $4 million renewal loan after Vranich failed to move on the project. In 2009, he and his company were fined after pleading guilty to breaching fire regulations by using the building to illegally store propane tanks, carpets, mattresses and wooden furniture.
On January 13th Mr. Vranich issued a permit to have the former Federal Building and its sculptures by Elizabeth Bradford Holbrook demolished. Clearly Mr. Vranich does not understand the hisotrical or cultural importance of the stone sculptures created by Dr. Holbrook who received the Order of Canada for her contributions to Canadian art.
City officials say unless Vranich is willing to negotiate removal of the sculptures, there's nothing they can do because the building is not protected by a heritage designation. The only real hurdle stopping the wrecking crew is a requirement he give the city 60 days written notice of its demolition.
We need to strongly request that the City of Hamilton designate the former Federal Building with Heritage Designation to prevent these works of art to be lost forever.

Description. The English Defence League will be protesting in Bradford against the Islamification of England. Parts have Bradford have become no go zones with non Muslims regularly being attacked and intimidated by Muslim gangs. Watch the EDL expose themselves to be nothing but a bunch of violent, racist thugs. Most of you may already know this but this time they've been caught on camera.

4. Save National Media Museum TV Studio
The National Media Museum has decided to cut costs and close it's TV studio, effecting students and professionals alike.
Anyone who uses this studio currently has no where else to go, with the only option being to buy an inferior place to make programmes with inferior equipment.
Since Bradford has recently been awarded City of Film, why would the National Media Museum do this to everyone?
These facilities currently draw students to Bradford University which will no doubt mean a decline in interest in Bradford media production courses.
5. Stop Animal Experiments at Bradford University
A petition to call upon the University of Bradford to immediately end all animal experiments and replace them with alternative testing methods that do not involve the pain and suffering of living creatures.
6. Free Bus Passes For Disabled People Any Time, Any Day
We are Bradford People First a self advocacy group, run by and for people with a Learning disability.

• We are running a campaign to enable people with learning disabilities and disabilities to travel on buses before 9.30am Monday to Friday using our concessionary bus passes.
• We are unable to use our bus passes before this time so we are limited to the time we start work , attend college, do voluntary work , get to medical appointments etc
• We feel that we are discriminated against, treated unfairly and often humiliated being asked to get off the bus.
• We are unable to afford to pay full fare as many of us are on benefits and often travel with carers, who we also would have to pay full fare for.
• Like many other people with a learning disability we are dependent on public transport as we cannot drive.
• Other councils across the U.K. have implemented a scheme which enables people with disabilities to travel for free at any time e.g. Reigate and Banstead, Luton, Greater Manchester and Suffolk.
• We would also like to point out that people who are visually impaired are allowed to use their bus passes at any time within West Yorkshire and I would like this to be available to all people with a disability.
• We have been writing to M.P’s and the Government to highlight our campaign.
The Metro have told us that they 'have the discretion to make the cut off time earlier or to fund free travel all the time', but due to the extra expense they are not currently willing to change the scheme- Dave Pearson West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive 17/07/09.
THE WHEELS ON THE BUS GO ROUND AND ROUND, ONLY AFTER HALF PAST 9- FOR SOME!!!

9. Petition for a referendum on the future of the Odeon building in Bradford
“The future of the Odeon is of great concern to the people of Bradford, as was apparent by the great turnout at the recent ‘Hug the Odeon’ event.
If we are to regenerate Bradford, then I believe the Odeon would be a excellent place to start, a restored Odeon could become, for example a regional concert hall or arts centre.
I would call on the people of Bradford to support our call for a referendum. As our elected councillors have showed no willingness to listen to the people I suggest we demand a referendum and let the people decide the future of the Odeon.”
