1. Alaska Sex Offender Residency Restriction
My name is Jacob Butcher, I am 25 years old, have lived in the Mat-Su Borough for 16 years, and am a father of three children. My Children are 6 year old, (currently attends and plays soccer at Goose Bay Elementary), 2 year old, and my daughter, 6 month old. The safety of my children is obviously my number one priority in life. I go to great lengths to ensure they are fully protected from any and all avoidable dangers in their and my life.
I am writing to you as a concerned resident of the Mat-Su Borough. I was recently researching the registered sex offenders that live in my area in an attempt to be fully aware for my childrens' safety; in the process of doing so, I found that among the many in my area, one in particular, a Mr. Kenneth Lynn Griffeth, has taken up residency off of Valley View Dr which is a road off of Vine Rd. The subject that lives here has been convicted of sexual abuse of a minor in the 2nd degree. I take issue with his residency as the backyard of his property backs up the playground of Knik and Goose Bay Elementary Schools. I contacted the sex offender registry office in Anchorage and was advised that unless somebody is on conditions or probation, that sex offenders are free to take up residency wherever they like.
This brings a sickening feeling to my gut knowing that a person who is capable of such a heinous act would have free access to grounds filled with our children which we presume to be safe at school. I am now aware that there are no rules or residency restrictions in place for convicted sex offenders as to restrict their access to places such as elementary schools, middle schools, or parks and playgrounds; I am writing you in a request that this issue may be addressed by our state legislature in hopes of having tighter restrictions placed on people convicted of such crimes.
Currently there are 21 states in the United States which have adopted sex offender residency laws and restrictions. Examples as follows:
Tennessee - Statutory Citation 40-39-[2]11(a)-(b)
"A sex offender cannot live within 1,000 feet of schools, childcare facilities, or the victim."
Oklahoma - Statutory Citation OSA tit. 57 SS590
" A registered sex offender cannot live within 2,000 feet of a school."
Ohio - Statutory Citation 2950.031(A)
"A sex offender may not live within 1,000 feet of any school, childcare facility or place where children gather"
These are only a few examples of the ordinances and laws enforced in other states. More follow the same suit including Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, MIssouri, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington and West Virginia.
It is my hope that this issue may be addressed before the unthinkable happens to an innocent child in our community. These types of issues normally don't get much thought or attention until an incident has already occurred, but I ask that you give some serious thought and eventually take up action in hopes of preventing a future crime against one of our children.
Please contact me if there is any assistance I can provide in helping this legislation get traction.
Thank you for your time on the matter.

WE REQUIRE THE NEW PROPERTY TAX
THROUGH THE ELECTRICITY BILLS TO BE CANCELLED
The new property tax through the electricity bills in Greece (commonly known as poll tax) is unfair and anti-humanistic and probably will cause the Greek citizens' suppression with their properties attached by a state that is violating repeatedly their constitutional rights.
This new property tax has brought poverty and unhappiness to hundreds of thousands households living in Greece. The solution is this new property tax (4021/2011 article 53) to be cancelled. United we Stand.
When your hydro bill is the most costly monthly bill you pay, don't just complain, do something about it. I know that anybody who uses hydro one, which is the majority of the country espeicially in such a technologically advanced decade, is tired of the pricey over charges.
Imagine this, if the whole country took an electricity fast for a week, what would hydro do with themselves. For once in their career as a company they would be doing nothing for a reason. I doubt we could actually get that to happen, but I am positive it would get the point accross.
Hydro is taking advantage of the fact that, in this day and age, we'd prefer to at least have access to electricity. Who doesn't own a computer, cell phone, home phone, television, dvd player, power tools, etc.. Even the most "back in the day" man I know owns all of the above and needs electricity to power them.
The saddest part of it all, most people at this point, want wind or solar power not only because it's making use of the enviroment and helping it too, but just to keep some of our hard earned money to ourselves. Every working man or woman hates handing out all their hard earned cash, to bill after bill. I, as with most people, would use this eco-efficient power source but its expencive. Well worth it but expencive, so all this money we're all dishing out to hydro one would pay for the equipment needed to use wind or solar power.
Funny thing actually, anyone notice that Hydro One started this all after solar and wind power became popular. They're just jelous and scared that they are going to lose buisiness. Maybe they should put some of all this money we're handing them to some smarter employee's that might actually care about the average Canadian.
Our main goal, to inform Hydro One that we will not take this lightly. Everyone's outraged and they better do something about it before we find a way to Boycott the company completely.
5. THE PEOPLES' POCKETS ARE EMPTY ! A GAS PRICE FREEZE NOW!
We understand that there is money to be made and you can make it in the Oil Business ! But the people that buy are so poor that they can barely feed there families or even heat or keep there homes these days let alone pay there medical bills God for bid they have any.
The unemployment rate is growing and not getting much better ! And yet they keep raising the price of Gas it keeps going up and UP! It has to stop some ware until the economy comes back online again We need a Freeze on Gas PRICING NOW! Help AMERICA HELP ITS SELF NOW ! This one act that could get most of the people back in the game again! When Americans have to ask them selves do I buy food ? Do I pay my bills (heat, water house payment? or do I feed my gas tank?
We have a BIG problem specially when you can not even plan on what it might cost as the price changes day to day and some how that does not work for most Americans budgets. So Please Hold the gas price at ( $2.00 ) a gallon for at least 6 months to a year. America dose not need food Stamps nor welfare or even a bail out just a small solution that could make the change we all need! And let the Americans see the light again!
If we refuse to hold our representatives and our president accountable for our security, economics and rate of spending then we risk allowing the united states to smother under her own weight.
We have a vote and fully intend to use it wisely research the issues before us and separate the truth from the lies I’m asking you sir to introduce a Bill to bring about truth integrity & honesty. With strong penalties of their own expulsion should a representative or any government official including the president willfully misled the American people.
Bring this law not only to the capital but to the white house and the entire political process. We must demand that we get real and truthful facts to base our opinions (votes) on. We the people are ultimately responsible for our own destiny. However there can only be one true set of facts, we will no longer allow congress or the senate to lie or otherwise mislead the American people . This Is not politics Like the president said in the resent round table debate. It is simply seeing who can be the best story teller and convince the American people that a specific bill is in there best interest. WE deserve better and we know better we need to be assured that when the members of congress or the senate or the president speak it is with the same reliable truthful stabilizing voice reflecting the same set of true facts or numbers so there can be absolutely no confusion. This has become necessary because of the present policies in congress, senate and the white house. Additionally distorting the true facts of any candidate running for office in this land our land can not will not and should not be tolerated..
I simply can't believe I am writing this letter and it has become overwhelmingly apparent that Washington is out of control and needs the oversight of the American people to ensure we have truth in the legislative process. This is an important first step this has got to be done the American people will not allow you all to ignore the simple truth. WE the people are the most Important and powerful part of this republic.
P.S. I am sure you can agree that truth in legislation is a positive thing that will bring about a new era of trust in government
7. NFL Should have the team with the best record host the Superbowl
The NBA and The NHL have their deciding games hosted by the team with the best record. Baseball has game #7 of the World Series hosted by the league which wins the All Star game.
Unfortunately the NFL has the Superbowl at a neutral site stadium. We the undersigned believe the Conference Champion with best won-loss record in the regular season, should host the Superbowl in front of their fans.
If that means the Superbowl has to be played in a blizzard in Green Bay, Buffalo or New England so be it.
8. Lower Northern Territory Power & Water Increases
CAN YOU AFFORD THE NEW POWER & WATER INCREASES ANNOUNCED BY THE NORTHERN TERRITORY GOVERNMENT?
The NT Government in Australia has announced increases as of the 1st July 2009 to Power, Water & Sewerage bills for all Territorians. 18% for Power for the first year (then 5% and 2.5% respectively for the following two years). 20% for Water for the first year (then 20% and 20% respectively for the following two years). Sewerage increase is an exact duplicate of water.
This decision will have a dramatic effect that will reach far beyond our household utility bills, and will put great pressure on Territorian families and business – especially small business.
****PW 2008 annual report - profit $57.5m; Bank Balance: $89.3m; Directors remuneration up 38%; no mention of need for price hike!****
Even the former Commissioner, Mr Alan Tregilgas, whoretired last week, says the Government "doesn't need to (put up prices) and I don't think it's appropriate that the Government tries to shift all the costs onto consumers."
1. Power will rise on average, $800 per year.
2. Although the Power increase % drops in the second and third years, Water will increase 20% each year for the whole three years (that’s compound interest).
3. By the third year we will be paying $3160 (power), $2115 (water), $582 (sewerage) – totaling $5857 per year.
4. Now for the flow on effect:
1. Rents will rise because of the water increases.
2. Food prices, Fuel Transport & Services will go up to cover increases in utilities.
3. Any small business that has been struggling to stay afloat because of economic downturn, will retrench/close doors – result? Loss of jobs.
The Treasurer, Delia Lawrie, said this in a media release, 1/04/09:
Treasurer Delia Lawrie today said the Territory recorded seasonally adjusted retail trade
turnover of $217 million in February 2009, a 15.5% increase on February 2008.
“Strong retail trade figures are indicative of a strong economy and Territorians continue to
outspend much of the nation in percentage terms,” Ms Lawrie said.
Of course it is higher…we have higher prices than everywhere else in the country. It’s not because we are buying more - it’s because we are paying more. She also said in the same media release:
“The Territory also recorded a 14.8% drop in annual residential building approvals in trend terms in February, well below the 29.8% drop recorded nationally.”
Yes, but it was still a drop, indicating that people don’t have the money to spend on building a house.
“Buy Local” says the Chief Minister – Local business won’t be able to stay competitive
with the new utility increases, and people won’t have the extra money to spend because of the new utility increases.
Suggested Solution: Perhaps the NT Government can put the Underground Power Cabling Project ($150m) and the Tiger Brennan Overpass Project ($36m – NT Gov. Contribution) on hold for a couple of years so they can upgrade our ageing utilities.
This Petition will run until the 31st May 2009.
We the taxpayer's of the United States of America are requesting a bailout.
We are tired of bailing out big business and Political squandering of our tax dollars and are requesting you to "Give A Citizen A Million".
10. Stop Utilities and others penalising cash payments
Utility Companies are wrongly charging extra money from faithful, well disciplined, prompt, CASH Payers.
A bank confirmed that the Direct Debit Charge to a Business Account for Customers paying a £200 regular bill, is more expensive per transaction, than a customer paying by CASH with a Giro Credit Slip each time.
This cash payment, once paid is processed entirely automatically into the customers account within the business concerned, without need for any other employee to even wink at the customers Account.
It is therefore unreasonable, and inordinate for a company to charge extra money for faithful, prompt, cash payers.
11. Lowering the Electric Bill at Sagewood Apartments
We, the residence of Sagewood Apartments at 10000 Rushing would like to see our electric bills lowered. All of our electic bills have tripled within the last 2 months. Many of us living here are on a fixed income and can not afford these outragious bills.
We have no free cable living here, most places furnish free cable. We don't need the place well lightened up, if we are going to have to pay for it. We just can not afford this hike in our electric bills. We will not be able to run the air conditioner in the summer with these prices. We need something done about this ASAP.
12. Wister water and sewage bills that are too high
Water bills jumped 255% after money went missing in the water department.
13. Telephone bills
Telephone Bill
In 2004, I moved from one apartment to another, in New York City. There was no telephone connection in my new apartment. I requested the installation from Verizon, and had to pay the sum of $208.39, plus tax, in order to install the new phone.
Verizon, aware of the enormous sum required all at once, allowed me a year to pay off the installation fee. I would add that I am a disabled citizen and the amount was verty large,or me, as is the ongoing bill.
I live in New York City where charges are higher than most other cities. However, by my reading of each month’s bill, some charges and taxes appear twice and three times on the same bill-it appears that the company is charging taxes upon taxes. The public seems unaware of this but I would like a better explanation than I received from Verizon. When I questioned them, they said that as a Verizon customer I am also paying for service to be extended to other areas in the city that don’t currently have telephone lines installed. It would appear that I and other customers are paying for capital expansion of service to persons and probably corporations that either should be paying for this service themselves or the expansion should be part of the capital outlays of a very rich corporation-Verizon itself.
I would point out some of these “extras” that I am charged for:
1. Dial tone-$9.85 -my common sense tell me that I already paid for this at the time of my installation.
2. “anticipated damages”-because I am responsible for any damage for which I may be responsible, whether it happens or not, I have to pay a maintenance fee of $3.99
3. In addition to the above , I am charged:
• Federal tax USF $0.68
• Surcharge $0.39
• Federal tax $0.22
• FCC line charge $6.39 (in addition to dial tone above)
• NYC & State tax $0.62
• 911 $1.00
(Whether used or not)
• Federal Tax $1.44
• State & Local tax $4.35
• Surcharge $2.95
When I inquired about all the fees, surcharges and duplicative taxes charged, the telephone company rep told me that the second set of charges are for each and every feature I received. But I don’t understand each separate item being charged tax and then the whole bill is charged an overall tax. It seems they are taxing the taxes. My total bill is $48.98 and of that amount the taxes and fees amount to $18.95; 39% of the bill is taxes and fees-more than 1/3.
I remember that the late President Reagan “de-regulated” all the communications companies. However, in my opinion, this deregulation does not give these companies the right to gouge and confuse their customers with hidden, unexplained and apparently redundant charges. This is not to even mention my paying for services to “out of reach” potential users-if that explanation made any sense.
I can’t believe I am the only citizen complaining about the billing practices of telephone companies. Please advise what if anything I can do about this public scam.
Thank you for your considerations.

Please Ralph (Wilson), don't move the team!
15. Oppose HB 3773, The Mother Of All Anti-Life Bills
HB 3773, The Mother Of All Anti-Life Bills: PLEASE OPPOSE IT!
Dear healthcare workers, citizens of the Philippines, and concerned friends around the world,
As medical workers and/or people who care about our country (the Philippines), we encourage you to help us in the fight against a frightening population control bill that has been proposed in our Congress: House Bill 3773, "The Responsible Parenthood and Population Management Act of 2005".
The time is short, since there will be a vote for the bill very soon, and the stakes are high. Many people are outraged by this proposition, and by educating as many citizens as possible about the dangers and exposing the deceit, we might have a chance to defeat it. If you agree that the situation is dire, you are strongly encouraged to examine the following petition AGAINST HB 3773. Then, please sign your name and forward it to as many people as possible.
The petition and list of names will be sent to our Filipino Congressmen on behalf of healthcare workers, concerned citizens, and ALL people of faith -- Catholics, other Christians, and Muslims alike. The congressmen have been bombarded with misinformation, and many of them are being led astray. Help them to realize the dangers that the bill poses to the life, health, and soul of our people, particularly Catholics and healthcare professionals. Help them to see that the world is watching and that knowledgeable, highly-respected Christians both here and abroad are deeply troubled by this development. And most importantly, please keep praying that we can defeat this insidious bill.
For more information about the bill, please see the following resource:

219 Curt I get disability and it took over a year to get then medicaid wouldnt cover the hospital bills more than 90 days back leaving me screwed drowning in medical bills.
218 Adrienne Smith It is hard enough to get disability and has taken me two yrs to get before a judge. Now you want to change everything that people on disabiity need. We are still people. Most of us have worked very hard in our lives, and no one asked to get sick or disabled in anyway. Some day I would hope to re-marry, however, it seems that you are forcing people to live together instead of the instiution of marriage which is sacred. We can not lose money because we want to marry and live some kind of life. Please do no go through with any kind of "taking away from the disabled people of the United States". Our goverment seems more concerned with giving money to people in other countries than taking care of the born and raised US citizians.
Adrienne Smith
217 Wendy Gantos I am a disabled attorney and cannot practice due to my disability. I had to wait 2 years for my employer to give me long term disability. During that time, I tried to get food stamps, and the process was so ridiculously long and hard, I never got them! Now if an attorney can't figure out the system, how can the rest of the country figure it out. I live now on disability and my bills are way more than my income every month. I can't even afford to pay my student loans. Great country, huh?
216 Ron Bones My wife is on ssi&ssd,I'm a disabled Vet with only 30% and we barely get through the month. food stamps only go so far when what you get isn't even half of what a single friend gets because she lives in a different part of the State. Tehy need to get the system worked out so that everything is equal. But I doubt we'llsee it soon. You know the old saying: SURE YOU CAN TRUST OUR GOVERMENT...JUST ASK ANY NATIVE AMERICAN!
215 Liz DeWitt Please, do not abolish social security. We need it.
214 Katherine M. Aaron Please support the disabled in this country. They already have to jump through hoops just to be approved and it certainly causes financial hardship on a family that are unecessary.
213 Joyce A Spencer People who marry they have disabilities. They end up losing some money. How in this country can they live could. When they pay more out of there checks every month.People should not have money taken away from them.Just because they marry.

210 Teddy G. Bryant How far will this govt. go to be out of control and to take away benefits taxpayers have paid the govt., and to which they have the right?
209 Kathy Rogers I'm the mother of a disabled young adult. Our people in the US should taken care of before others. Forcing people to live alone or divorce a spouse to receive benefits is inhumane.
208 John Davis Remember Tim Cratchett? (Dickens-A Christmas Carol) You don't really want to see a nation of them do you? Give us the tools to maintain our dignity and ability to still be productive citizens!
207 Jacqueline McVicar What happened to taking care of our own? Shouldn't citizens of the United States receive aide before any other country?
206 Mike Pearson We can afford WAR , but we can't afford those with diabilities. and we say we are a Christian Nation???
205 Joanne D. Ferguson This is so important!

17. A Campaign for the Reform of Council Tax
UPDATE
June 10, 2005
We have set up an Independent Inquiry by Sir Michael Lyons to consider the detailed case for changes to the present system of local government funding, including reform of council tax to make it fairer and more sustainable.
The Inquiry will also consider options other than council tax for local authorities to raise supplementary revenue, including local income tax, reform of non-domestic rates and other possible local taxes and charges. The Inquiry is due to report by the end of the year and will make recommendations on any changes that are necessary and how to implement them.
Help with council tax bills is available to people on a low income through Council Tax Benefit (CTB). The Department for Work and Pensions is taking active measures to ensure that people are made aware of CTB and are encouraged to take up their entitlement to what is in effect a council tax rebate.
Alongside CTB for the poorest pensioners, we are helping many more elderly people with their council tax bills. We gave £100 to households with someone 70 or over for 2004/05. In 2005/06 households with someone aged 65 or over will receive £200, unless they are receiving the Pension Credit guarantee. People getting the guarantee element of Pension Credit are already entitled to a 100 per cent rebate on their council tax bills. Households with someone aged 70 or over getting the Pension Credit guarantee will receive £50 to help with living costs.
Our generous grant settlements to local Government, and considered use of our capping powers, have led to an average council tax increase in 2005/06 of 4.1 per cent - the lowest increase in more than a decade - and the second lowest ever.
David Every

...........................................................................
The year on year inflation busting rises in Council Tax causes hardship to the many, but particularly those on low or fixed incomes. With council tax being based on property values, it takes no account of people's ability to pay.
Council Tax can take as much as 30% of the income of a person on a low income and less than 2% of the income of a high earner.
18. Investigate high water bills in Itasca Texas
For several months many residents of Itasca, Texas have noticed a unexplainable rise in their water bills. When the question is brought up to the city councle nothing is done, nor will they put forth any effort into finding out the cause for the increase on the amount the city is charging for the water services.
Instead they go out of their way to insist that the bills are accurate even when presented with evidence to show otherwise.
19. Reform Federal Bankruptcy Laws
When Corporations file bankruptcy workers lose pensions and other benefit plans. Under the current law, employees are last in line to receive compensation from bankrupt companies.
20. Abbeville High Electric Bills
Abbeville Electric Bills Have Been Doubling For Almost 5 Months. The people can hardly pay these bills. They can not afford medicines and other bills they have. Many are on a fixed income. This has gone on for long enough!!
21. Annulment of Working on Saturdays and Rearrangement of Payment Day
This petition is made against Mc Orange Institute to annul Saturdays as working days, and also to set the last days of the month (30th or 31st) as the payment day for its staff. We, as the staff of the institute are not satisfied with the long working hours, which start at 8:30a.m. till 5:30p.m. during weekdays, and 8:30a.m. till 12:30p.m. on Saturdays. The normal office hours in Malaysia are from 9a.m till 5p.m weekdays, and 9a.m. till 12:30p.m. on alternate Saturdays. Alternatively, (This is especially true with educational institute/companies and Mc Orange is an educational institute.)companies which want to cease operation on Saturdays may extend the working hours from 9a.m. till 5:30p.m. during weekdays. In our case, not only we have to work an extra hour from Monday to Friday, we are also obligated to come to work on Saturdays. In the Malaysian Labour Act Enactment 1955, the maximum number of working hours per week is 48, and our cumulative working hours per week is well over this limit.
As for the case regarding our payment day, we request the company to set up the last day of the month as our payment day. This is due to all kinds of complications resulted from receiving late payment, well into the end of the first week of the next month. Most credit cards' bills, telephones and other utilities' bills are due within the first few days of each month, this has resulted in late payment of our utilities' bills, which requires us to pay fines.
22. JNRU needs to lower water bills before everyone in the community moves out
We the community of Country Squire Lakes want JNRU water Company to lower their bills or we would like a new water company to take over. Our community can not afford these water bills. More and more families are being forced out of this community because they can't afford the water bills. Soon we will have no community to come home to.
