1. Drake Benefit Concert for Autism

Drake’s apology for autism joke is sadly incomplete. On the upside, they turned what could have been just another media shamewalk into a true example of learning from a mistake, and accepting responsibility with grace. Did they? It takes a man to apologize for making a mistake. However, there's a difference between apology and making amends. It is not like this statement was just said out loud. It was recorded on an album that went though many people who heard these offensive lyrics, yet no took pause to raise up and say no, bad idea.

Facebook shows Drake to have 32 million followers, a net worth of 35 million dollars. These lyrics not only hurt people who must live through and with Autism, but it also influences more negative stigma these people (especially children) don't deserve. Drake, you influence millions of people, it is your responsibility to influence them correctly.

Take responsibility for your actions and use your influence to benefit the community you damaged with your hurtful and thoughtless lyrics on a song that could have been avoided.

2. DWP 'Projects'

DWP Tribunal Reconsideration Project with Her Majesty's Courts (& now Tribunal Service). Incapacity BenefitS Transition Project. DBD420 "Look again" at DLA Mobility/Care +/or attendance allowance Project.

It is time automatic rejection of claims by some or all of DWP / Benefits & Credits assessment officers ceased. It is time appeals be facilitated and not frustrated to avoid descendants & taking of responsibility by the Departments. Reconsideration erodes rights, wastes time to avoid legal challenges, and all these practices combined deny many vulnerable (including non-disabled/incapacitated) claimants and families access to their lawful entitlements.

The emphasis and responsibility for correct assessment lies with DWP & Benefits and Credits, not with the claimant. Automatic award at lowest levels ("chancing the arm") is equally deplorable. A government which should protect the vulnerable should not itself endanger them to exploitation, nor itself exploit such persons / families.

Civil Servants are paid well to do a job well, not to achieve 'statistics' and being able to place of quantity and lip-service over quality must cease. If quality increases then the Unions will be able to further justify the need to stop cuts in the Civil Service.

Get it right first time. A maxim is fine, but the culture must adopt and accept, not merely recite it.

3. Save Derbyshire Unemployed Workers' Centres (DUWCs)

Derbyshire Unemployed Workers' Centres (DUWCs) is an organisation established in the former coalfields area of North and East Derbyshire in the early 1980s as part of a TUC initiative to support people becoming unemployed.

The Centres opened offices throughout North Derbyshire as the excellent reputation of the organisation spread. In the current recessionary times the free, independent welfare rights advice provided is needed as much as ever.

4. Make Child Benefit Fair

The proposed changes to Child Benefit payments is patently unfair. Cuts are going to happen, and although we don't like it we have to accept it, but it has to be fair to everyone.

Families with two earners on just under £44,000 each - but collectively about £80,000 - would keep child benefit, those with one earner on more than £44,000 would lose it. This simply is not fair!

5. Review Club Hours for the youth of the LeoGoodwin Foundation Teen Center

Changing club hours would be beneficial for the youth of the LeoGoodwin Foundation Teen Center. at this moment the club is open at 3pm on schools days , but on Non-school days its open from 9am to 5pm. The teens that attend this center start arriving btween 11am to Noon. As we all know most teenagers don't wakeup early in the morning.

This brings the benefit of having the club Hours changed to either 11am to 8:30pm or 11:30 to 9pm, the teens would be able to spend more quality time at the club and interact with more activities during the summer and on non-school days.

6. Support Review to Jobseekers Allowance

While hard working and productive members of society are working multiple jobs and paying tax, some unscrupulous individuals are receiving huge sums of money in the form of Jobseekers Allowance and other benefits, even though they have no intention of finding work or are interested in supporting themselves.

The long term unemployed are spending money on luxuries, such as alcohol, cigarettes and receiving extravagant services, such as broadband Internet and expensive cable and satellite television packages. They even often travel aboard on luxury holidays, while their hardworking taxpaying neighbours often struggle to make ends meet.

It’s time for change! Make your voice count and let’s persuade the UK Government that enough is enough.

7. STOP SERS Recommendation to ORSC for Retirement Changes effective Aug. 1, 2015

The Board will recommend to the ORSC at its September 9, 2009, meeting the following changes, effective for members retiring on or after August 1, 2015:

- to retire with no actuarial reduction to one’s retirement allowance, a member must be age 67 with 10 years of service or age 57 with 30 years of service;

- a member may retire early at age 62 with 10 years of service or age 60 with 25 years of service;

- f a member retires early, base early retirement reductions on actuarial reductions from the lesser of age 67 or possible attainment of 30 years of service.

To minimize the possibility of making unnecessary benefit changes and increasing member and employer contributions, SERS’ Board opted to periodically examine its 30-year funding responsibility and recommend benefit or contribution changes as needed. Should the recommended retirement eligibility changes for members retiring on or after August 1, 2015 fail to keep SERS within the 30-year funding window, the Board will consider other changes such as reducing cost of living adjustments and contribution increases for members and employers. The Board also understood that it could look at the costs of the Health Care program, if needed. This tiered approach addressed concerns from SERS’ advocacy groups that overreacting to the present funding situation could adversely affect members and retirees for many years.

Even before the current financial crisis began, SERS’ Board took action to keep the pension fund stable. SERS was the only Ohio public pension system to address pension design changes necessary to offset increased life expectancy when it introduced S.B. 148 in 2007 and advocated for its passage.

8. Mad as hell at financial companies who choose to benefit from the Great Bailout!

Are you mad as hell at financial companies who choose to benefit from the Great Bailout? Are you going to take this anymore?

These financial companies in and outside the U.S. will steal massive wealth from U.S. taxpayers to give to their foreign and U.S. investors, and to their foreign and U.S. management and employees.

Yelling together, we should be able to stop the ill-considered passage of the Great Bailout, and gain the opportunity to quickly implement a better solution.

Note: The "Great Bailout" refers to the Paulson/Bernanke/Bush (Paulnankebush) sponsored bailout proposal (including any tweaks made to it by Congress) that fundamentally transfers massive wealth from U.S. taxpayers to foreign and U.S. investors in, and foreign and U.S. management and employees of, financial companies in and outside the U.S. It does not refer to fundamentally different solutions, such as those discussed on http://AmericaIs.OurCreation.info .

11. Nutrition on the curriculum

Human nutrition should be added to the secondary education curriculum. Children are encouraged to eat healthy and cook healthy, however they are not taught the why behind it, for example what function a nutrient has in the body, or the current guidelines.

Human nutrition is a vast subject concerning health, and food, the basis of existance. Society would benefit from learning about in detail.
They learn history... how will that benefit their future. This kind of education in the future will reduce diseases such as obesity, cancer, heart disease and diabetes, and in turn will be a the huge reduction in costs to the NHS and society.

The government needs to act now. Please sign, we need as many signitures as possible.

12. Public Data Base on Convicted Sex Offenders and Paedophiles

It is an expectation of each individual to maintain and promote a safe environment for all children and for those who are unable to defend themselves.

It should be an obligation of our government to provide reasonable information that will benefit those of us who are caring for our future, those who are our children.

In achieving a safe environment it should be expected that our government make freely available a database listing convicted sex offenders and paedophiles. It should be without hesitation that such a database be available not just to a select few but to the whole of Australia and so that all socio-economic backgrounds can benefit without financial discrimination.

14. Bring the Football Team Back to CSULB!

UPDATE as of 7/20/2009: Sorry for the lack of updates, but I do check the petition regularly.

Thank you everyone for signing. Please continue to let others know of our petition! Our goal is to get as many signatures as possible, so please tell others about this petition! We need at least 5,000 signatures before I will submit the petition to President F. King Alexander, which I believe is absolutely possible, as there are 35,000 students on our campus.

.............................................................................................

Simply put, having a football team will not only bring unity to our school, but will also bring in money for our campus, as well as putting our campus on the map.

Reasons why there should be a football team:

1. We are sick of having to cheer for another school.

2. We are sick of seeing people wearing other schools' jerseys/shirts on our campus.

3. Our school has 35,000 students, which makes it a large campus, yet it doesn't have a football team?

4. Bringing football back will benefit the whole school, not just the football players, as people previously have thought. For instance, having a football team will bring back the marching band, and the money earned will benefit the WHOLE school. We'll be able to afford to improve our campus, which will boost our students' morale.

Sign the petition if you haven't already, and forward it to your friends and family, even if they don't go to our school!

GO BEACH!

15. Changing District 1 To Pulteney Fire District

As you may or may not be aware District 1 falls under Branchport Fire District. This means that Pulteney Fire Department and Pulteney Ambulance Department are not supposed to respond in your district.

At this time Puletney is still called to fire calls and Branchport does not have an ambulance so they are also called out.

It would be a benefit to the safety and well being of residents of District 1 to become part of Pulteney fire district.

The response time is a big benefit not to mention athat an ambulance does not come from another township.

16. Ban the Bloc

On September 11, 1993, the Bloc Québécois federal political party, based on the need to defend the French language and promote Quebec culture, became officially registered with Elections Canada.

With this mandate in mind, in the October 1993 federal election, the Bloc formed the Official Opposition in the House of Commons, with Mr. Bouchard as their leader. In Canada, an opposition party is a political party with members elected to the House of Commons or legislative assembly that is neither the government party nor one of a coalition of parties forming the government.

The role of an opposition party is to oppose the government by criticizing government policies, suggesting alternatives and keeping the public informed about issues relating to government administration.

The Bloc Québécois has no other thought other than what is of benefit to Québec, and has no interest in being of benefit to the rest of Canada. They constantly strive and push for separation from Canada, seeking an autonomous and sovereign relationship with Canada.

The existence of the Bloc in the House of Commons is unconstitutional as this party does not run candidates outside of Québec. Should the Bloc ever become the Official Opposition Party again, how could they honestly and justly defend the interests of her Majesty and the people of Canada if their only reason for being is for the welfare of Québec?

*Please list your E-Mail address that you registered with U2.com for contact purposes*

We the members of U2.com protest the recent treatment in the distribution of tickets. As part of membership to the website, we were given the promise of access to tickets to your show. This promise of access fell far short. Not enough tickets were allotted to U2.com members, while more than enough were allotted to ticket brokers.

We believe that U2 and U2.com should make amends to the membership by either providing an additional presale for members, with enough tickets for all, or by refunding the $40 to each and every member who was unable to benefit from the presale.

All who agree should respond to this positing and sign on. Enough responders might actually send a message.

19. Ontario Stop Clawback of National Child Benefit Supplement From Disabled

Ontario continues to clawback almost all of the National Child Benefit Supplement from Ontario Disability Support Program recipients. The money is given to you from your federal government only to be taken away by your Ontario government. The clawback is unfair to the children of disabled people and these children will continue to suffer at the hands of the Ontario Government until this process is stopped.

The purpose of the National Child Benefit Supplement is so that it reaches those children most in need.... the clawback makes sure it doesnt.

21. Ban Cosmetic Testing on Animals

Testing cosmetics on animals for the benefit of humans is cruel and inhumane. There is no excuse for putting beauty products such as foot scrub into an animals' eye to watch them squirm in agony of the burning chemicals.

It is also wrong to smear liquid make-up onto a cat's shiney coat and wait for it to cake on, just to see if it will be an all-day wear make-up.

I don't think you would like to spend your entire day locked in a cage, then taken out to have chemicals in or on you, and then left in your cage to suffer in pain. I am here to petition against the testing of human-used products on animals.

I hope you agree with what I have to say on this matter and sign this petition.

24. Loan Funds but DO NOT Give Funds to IRAQ

Why are we giving away $$87 billion+?

Why exactly are we giving away 87 billion to Iraq this time and who knows how much in the future in the form of a gifts instead of a loans? Would such a kingly gift be better appreciated our elderly in the form of healthcare and prescription drugs? Perhaps OUR electrical grid could be repaired for a paltry 50 billion?

These large gifts add to the deficit so in effect we are taking out a loan to give away with little hope of repayment.

It has been said business will prosper when the Iraqi infrastructure is repaired and improved. Business in Iraq will not necessarily benefit the US. There is no longer a mandate that we use US corporations or company's to re contract the rebuilding of Iraq. How would we benefit from for example; Spending 2 billion restoring Iraq's oil production so an offshore Oil Corp. can sell oil to France?

The potential for abuse is far less with a loan. Loans would encourage individual accountability and curb a "spend it because we got it" mentality among "gift" recipients. Loans greater accountability factor would discourage influence buying and enhance efficient competition among contractors.

Barely given enough food or water, they are tied and forgotten. Tell the congressmen and women of this Commonwealth that you want a change dog laws to ban this terrible practice. Make it an enforceable crime for dog owners to "tie 'em and forget 'em". Thank you.

27. Adult at 18 in Idaho

Let Idaho be a leader in the promotion of rights and privileges of all adults in our State. With our nation at war, it brings to mind that the brave men and woman of Idaho can make the decision to put their lives on the line for the sake of the nation; it only makes sense that they can also make the decision to have a cold beer.

If one is old enough to vote for the person that ultimately decides the fates of not only the State, but of this great nation, that same person deserves to make a personal choice regarding whether or not they wish to consume a glass of chardonnay. If a person is liable for choices they make regarding laws and can be held as a "responsible adult" at the age of eighteen, then that person should have the same privilege of deciding if they would like to toast the bride at a wedding, or the newest addition to his or her own family with a glass of champagne. This is a privilege that would not only benefit the men and women of Idaho that fall under the current drinking age; it would also benefit the businesses of Idaho.

30. Petition the U.S. Congress to Enact Student Loan Program Reform

As you may or may not know, student loan interest rates have recently dropped to an all-time of low 4.06% (previously 8.25%).

Those of us who opted to consolidate and benefit by having just one monthly payment, ARE NOW BARRED FROM THE NEW LOWER RATES.

Congress will be voting on student loan issues in early 2003! The following is a petition intended to convince congress to pass legislature that would permit ALL student loan borrowers to benefit from lowered rates AT ANY TIME. We should have the freedom to choose to reconsolidate or keep our fixed rate according to what would financially benefit us most. Student Loans are a public service - they should serve us better!

We have more power to evoke change then you might think!
