1. Our Silent Crisis - Our Missing and Unidentified Persons
I have been working with the Missing and Unidentified for the last 9 years and well aware of this crisis. The last statistics are 100,000 active missing persons and 40,000 to 60,000 human remains.
Many of these remains are in unmarked graves with no name or laying in coroners or medical offices. There are many, many others out here waiting to be found and get their names back.Daily people are disappearing everyday and many are homicide victims. Many of their killers are still out here repeating crimes and taking more lives. Human remains are being found often when someone stumbles upon them. The statistics change as more go missing and some are being found. This is in every State in America.
I am in full support of Billy's Law-The Help Find the Missing Act
(H.R. 1300 and S.R. 702)
... Billy's Law would link two existing databases maintained by the Department of Justice:
1.FBI’s National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and,
2.Department of Justice’s National Missing Person and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs).
Ok when I was 9 I had a bb gun but then I shot someone in the arm when it was on safe.It didn't hurt no one but me. I couldn't be able to have another bb gun.
Neither could some of my friends and it made me mad to see that a simple toy can be taken away for something so small.
3. Help Us Fight To Make The South Hook Of Folly Beach County Park A Private Clothing Optional Area
South Carolina dose not have any nude or clothing optional beach areas and really needs one. South Carolina's Nudity Laws are as follows:
SOUTH CAROLINA
15. CHAPTER
OFFENSES AGAINST MORALITY AND DECENCY
ARTICLE 1.
MISCELLANEOUS OFFENSES
SECTION 16-15-130. Indecent exposure; breastfeeding.
(A)(1) It is unlawful for a person to wilfully, maliciously, and indecently expose his person in a public place, on property of others, or to the view of any person on a street or highway.
(2) This subsection does not apply to a woman who breastfeeds her own child in a public place, on property of others, to the view of any person on a street or highway, or any other place where a woman and her child are authorized to be.
(B) A person who violates the provisions of subsection (A)(1) is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined in the discretion of the court or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
We need to work to repeal these laws and strengthen the naturist movement for years to come.

5. Remove the Alcohol Ban from Residence
College residence is supposed to be a place for students to relax, to do homework, to socialize and to just have fun. College students are for the most part responsible adults and deserve the right to drink in their home.
The Bay St George College of the North Atlantic campus does not believe this is true. They have put in place an alcohol ban. Many students feel this is unfair, and unnecessary. There are many other ways to deal with alcohol abuse than to ban it completely from all students forever.
We as students feel this ban is unfair, and making our college experience a little less enjoyable due to the fact we can't have our friends over to hang out and relax and have some drinks.
Not everyone in the building abuses alcohol, and it is unfair that you ban everyone from their legal rights as 19+ year olds. And banning alcohol completely from res causes students to find other places to go and drink which in itself is unsafe.
From most kids houses there’s no where to ride. But, These Game wardens are posting everything and fining us. For what?! Riding? We aren’t hurting anything. And they wonder why people are calling cops on us for riding roads. You tell me where is there to ride where it’s not posted? I’m pretty sure a kid doesn’t want to pay ANOTHER fine.
One place, the rock dump which isn’t that big and we still have people yelling for the dust. So what is the problem with us on trails? We aren’t hurting anything we aren’t tearing down trees or making new trails. We are just riding. They are fining us for riding? But, they aren’t catching the people down at the PARK doing drugs, And they wonder why kids do drugs in our town. What else is there to do? There’s a park two actually. But who wants to sit at a park?
The basketball courts are all cracked and all dipped in. Plus you can only stay till eight or you get a fine! And what else is there? We don’t have one arcade. Not one Public Pool. We have BARS instead. That’s so fun. NOT! We can walk around town but what’s fun about that. Drugs all around you? That about all that is in our small town. There is nothing for the kids to do. Ride? But there’s a problem about that but they just blow off the kids with drugs. That doesn’t make sense. This town doesn’t! So we the kids and adults are going to get riding back because we don’t want to do drugs and our parents don’t want us to, we would rather ride!!
7. Diagnosis Service for Asperger Syndrome in Leeds
Asperger Syndrome is a form of autism, a lifelong developmental disability that affects the way a person communicates and relates to others.
As with autism, people with Asperger Syndrome experience difficulties in:
• Social interaction
• Social Communication
• Social imagination
However people with Asperger Syndrome usually have fewer problems with language than those with autism, often speaking fluently though their words can sometimes sound formal or stilted.
People with Asperger Syndrome are often of average or above average intelligence.
Because their disability is less obvious than that of someone with autism, a person with Asperger Syndrome is, in a sense, more vulnerable.
As they get older they may realize that they are different from other people and feel isolated and depressed. People with Asperger Syndrome often want to be sociable and are upset by the fact that they find it hard to make friends.
Bearing all this in mind it seems incredible that although there will be over 2000 individuals in Leeds with Asperger Syndrome there is very little help or support for them.
Bring back the Oc. It was not only a teen drama but was like real life for teens.
9. Allow Smoking on Palo Alto College Campus, San Antonio
I have recently found out that by September 2007 that smoking will no longer be allowed on the Palo Alto College Campus in San Antonio, Texas.
I find it to be unfair to those of us who smoke because college is about having freedom and as it is we hardly have freedom in America anymore. There is so many students and professors that smoke on campus after their classes, which because of this new rule, it is going to cause many conflicts.
I've already heard of people leaving the school and quitting there because of this policy. As being adults, we have the right to smoke cigarettes on campus as we do any where else. How is an individual ever suppose to figure themselves out if everything keeps getting taken away from us and we're not able to express who we are? This isn't right and what kind of freedom is this?
10. Stop Homeless Facility on Vendome
This proposed Homeless facility is intended to house 40 adults who have
debilitating mental illness.
* This proposed homeless facility is intended to house 40 adults
who have debilitating mental illnesses. Many of them have drug problems
and criminal convictions.
* There are several liquor stores, bars, and nightclubs within two
blocks of this site. This building is on a street corner that already
has criminal activity (gangs, crimes, drug trafficking). This facility
should instead be located in an area where related services are
available, not near drugs and alcohol.
* This site is one block from a park, beneath the historic Music
Box Steps, where children play and where residents can finally enjoy a
patch of green after years of neglect. We do not want people loitering
here.
* Silver Lake already has several other homeless facilities.
Silver Lake including Regency Manor on the corner of Robinson and Descanso
and the new facility on the corner of Hoover and London. We do not need another one.
Why is there another homeless facility being placed in a historically poor neighborhood that is comprised mostly of ethnic minorities?
11. Violent juvenile criminals should be tried as adults
July 13, 2006
The history of this Petition is to start a change to the policies for violent juveniles.
Violent juveniles should get tried as adults for repeated violent crimes.
12. Please Bring Back "Big Brother Adults Only"
June 23, 2006
Channel 10, under pressure from right-wing extremists, has decided to axe the show Big Brother Adults Only. We feel that this is a breach of our civil liberties as consenting adults to watch adult content.
We, as viewers form attachments to particular housemates, and would like to see THEM, as opposed to any old porn star, engaged in sexual discussions/situations.
We feel that no religious group should have the right to push their views onto everyone else.
With regards criticisms that teenagers may be watching, we feel that it is their PARENTS responsibility to ensure that this does not happen, and the rest of us should not be penalised for the poor parenting of a few.
We also feel that 9:30pm is a late enough timeslot for this show to be aired.
13. Abolish Bathroom Use Policy at Peru Community Schools
Petition against Peru Community Schools for Bathroom Use Punishment.
There has been a situation during this 2004-2005 school year that was brought to my attention by my children. They were being punished with standing on the wall at recess for needing to use the restroom. I, Walter Campbell Jr., approached Thomas McKaig in a private meeting about the situation. I was told it is the teachers' discretion on how to handle bathroom privileges and that he had asked a Dr. and was told children could go 4 hours without needing to use the restroom. As you will find in my research, it is healthy for a child to use the restroom at least every 2 hours if not more. I brought up that children will have accidents from holding it and not wanting to get in trouble and his response was "Well more children haven't had accidents than have had accidents". I don't think these children should even have the opportunity to have an accident. Every child is different and they drink different amounts of liquid, body retains liquid differently, bladder sizes differ, along with many other differences in children. As I see it using the restroom is not a privilege, it is a necessity for health and psychological reasons. Nothing further was done to investigate the situation.
I did some research on the harms of children not being able to use the restroom and sent these items to school with my children and they were returned to me. The documentation can be viewed at http://www.childadvocate.org/1b.htm or http://www.nospank.net/frbw.htm .
My children are now allowed to go to the restroom when they need to without punishment, but ONLY my children. They are also being treated differently as they do not get in trouble when clearly they should or being let to do things any other child would not ordinarily be allowed to do. This is being done to keep me from filing a lawsuit about the bathroom policy. I do not feel this is fair to the rest of the children in the Peru Community School Corporation, as now this is discrimination to the other children, and ask that something be done. We as adults have OSHA to protect us and it is law that we are able to use the restroom at any time needed, why not our children.
I do know that at Blair Pointe that there are some classes where children are not allowed to use the restroom at all when asked. Then we have Jr. High and High School, where they are given 5 minutes between classes to get books, go to restroom, and make it across the school to get to class. This is not enough time for a normal human to complete such tasks.
I think that the school system has to understand that they need to conform to the needs of the students, not to the needs of the facility. We pay the taxes to keep our schools running and to teach our children. Teaching them that using the restroom is a punishable act is not what we as Miami County residents pay for.
I feel it is our responsibility as parents to know what our schools bathroom use policy is and remedy the situation so that our children know that using the restroom is a normal bodily function and not a punishable act. We as parents have an obligation to be sure our children are safe from physical and mental harm, but letting our schools punish children for a natural body function is considered abuse both physically and mentally. Continued denial of bathroom use will eventually harm our children physically and if they wet themselves they will be harmed mentally.
14. Lower the Drinking Age in the USA
As an adult, I am angry at the way I am treated just because I am 19 years old. My main problem is the restrictions on alcohol. "Minors," as we are called when in the presence of alcohol, have the right to fight for this country and vote. And not only am I upset that I cannot even have one drink, it is also the restriction from just about everywhere that serves it. Limitations should not be put on adults simply based on their age.
Anyone under the age of 21 cannot walk into TGI Friday's, a simple restaurant over the hours of 10:00 PM. That same person though, can sit down for a meal at 2:00 in the afternoon with a table of 30-year-olds drinking margaritas at the next table. There are hardly any nightclubs that allow anyone under 21 just because they are in the presence of alcohol. Being denied access to a nightclub gives minors very little options of what to do during their weekends. Most of the time, this leads to staying at home, or going to a friend's house where they are out of the public's eye and are able to drink. This can become a problem because they hardly have the chance to learn to drink responsibly. Being in the comfort of someone's home allows him or her to drink too much because the opportunity to just stop and "crash" on the couch, is there.
A lot of minors do not even want to go to a nightclub to just drink. They want to dance and they hardly get the opportunity to. The music in the 18 and over club is very limited and it is wrong to assume that everyone in a certain age range wants to listen to one type of music. It is so insulting to be an adult who is able to take care of their own responsibilities, but yet is so limited as to what they can do.
An adult is an adult and to separate a group from another just because of age is discrimination. This is supposed to be a country of equal rights and if we are all equal between skin color and sex, then an adult should not be less privileged than another because of his or her age. If 18 to 20-year-olds are not meant to share the same privileges as others, then take away their adulthood altogether. The privileges to serve the country and vote should also be taken away. Everyone matures differently and there is no way you can assume every 18-year-old is not yet responsible to drink and that every 21-year-old is. Many claim that if the age limit is lowered to 18, then the demand to lower it even further will rise. These people seem to forget that the difference between an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old is the simple fact that you are legally an adult at the age of 18.
When one hits the age of 18, they are most likely still living at home with their parents. If you give these young adults the chance to go to a bar with their parents to have their first drink or two, you let them learn responsibly from their parents the way to handle alcohol. At the age of 21, many adults are out of their parents' homes and experience what is supposed to be their first drink without any supervision. They drink too fast without knowing their limit because no one is there to warn them.
To most who are banned from it, alcohol is a sort of "forbidden fruit." As Dr. Ruth Engs, a professor at Indiana University has stated, "Lowering the drinking age would help send the important message that drinking is, in itself, not evidence of maturity... that responsible consumption for those who choose to drink is evidence of maturity." Japan is a country with a 20-year-old age limit for alcohol, but is not strictly enforced. Many have easy access into clubs and bars and when you are used to this as a minor, drinking is not a huge deal. You are treated more respectfully and there is no need to go against the law. By going out at an early age, you learn to drink responsibly at an early age.
15. Lowering The Drinking Age in MASSACHUSETTS
The reason why i made this petition is because the current laws are not working, kids still find ways to get alcohol. They have people who are older than them buy it or they have fake ids. What has this law done? Nothing,They say when you turn 18 you become a legal adult but you cant make your own decision wether to drink or not but its ok to become a bartender right at 18 , 19 or 20, but yet you cant drink any, Its okay to join the army and die for you country at 18, 19, 20 but yet they wont allow you to have alcohol. You can get married but yet you cant celebrate with a glass of champagne at your wedding because you know why You havnt reached that magic # 21!!!.You know what thats absurd,And then they tell us oh you cant handle any right you havnt matured enough ,O ya but by law im already an adult, i can get tried as an "adult" ,VOTE, BUY TOBACCO,PLAY THE LOTTERY , WASTE MY MONEY ON GAMBLING SO THE STATE CAN MAKE A PROFIT OFF ME BUT YET IM NOT OLD ENOUGH TO HANDLE ALCOHOL.Thats stupid i think we should make are own decisions and be responsible for are own actions i think they should change the law.
Because if they lowered the law it would take the fun out of doing something illegal.
Do you get what im saying yet?Because if its illegal kids are gonna say ya i wanna do it because i cant buy it, im only 18 , 19 or 20 but yet i cant do it even though im an adult right?.That will make them do it even more. The law isnt working as you think it is , if they lower it to atleast 19 years old i think it would teach us how to drink responsible as young adults.Look at europe they may be a different country but yet not much countrys have a strict law on age .Here its 21,there its under 16 , 18 and 20.And some countrys dont require an age.Who knows if this will work but it doesnt hurt to try. They lowered the law but it failed ,but put it this way they made that decision to drink and drive no one ever said to do it, it was there decision alcohol does affect people and i aint gonna argue about that , it does have different affects on people and sometimes people make the wrong choices when they abuse alcohol but you cant discriminate on age because of that.If you agree with me then sign it if not then thats your opinion.
I, Tiffany Ethier, as the student representative for our Grad 2004, Grand March committee, believe that we should be able to decide who we can and cannot have as our partner in OUR Grand March.
Graduation is our time to shine and we would like the adults who are telling us that this is the tie for us to act like adults, well give us a chance to prove it to you and let us make this decision on our own. Thank you to all who have sighed this petition.
Let Idaho be a leader in the promotion of rights and privileges of all adults in our State. With our nation at war, it brings to mind that the brave men and woman of Idaho can make the decision to put their lives on the line for the sake of the nation; it only makes sense that they can also make the decision to have a cold beer.
If one is old enough to vote for the person that ultimately decides the fates of not only the State, but of this great nation, that same person deserves to make a personal choice regarding whether or not they wish to consume a glass of chardonnay. If a person is liable for choices they make regarding laws and can be held as a "responsible adult" at the age of eighteen, then that person should have the same privilege of deciding if they would like to toast the bride at a wedding, or the newest addition to his or her own family with a glass of champagne. This is a privilege that would not only benefit the men and women of Idaho that fall under the current drinking age; it would also benefit the businesses of Idaho.

19. Growth Hormone should be placed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme for GH deficient Adults
My name is Shiannon Corcoran and I am a member of the Australian Pituitary Foundation. I have a condition known as Panhypopituitarism caused by the removal of a Pituitary tumour six years ago. I now take replacement medication to stabilise my condition and stay alive.
My body no longer produces Growth Hormone, which is unavailable to me and other GH deficient adults on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme at present.
Growth Hormone is a very important hormone that is produced throughout adult life and studies around the world have shown it plays a vital role in maintaining health. A lack of GH causes muscle wasting and weakness, poor heart function - including degeneration of the arteries, bone and skin thinning, loss of vitality and reduced energy levels. In addition to greatly reducing quality of life, it also reduces life expectancy.
The Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee has recently rejected Government funding of GH therapy and other life saving medications. To obtain a supply of this drug would cost up to $25,000 per year for life - way beyond the reach of the average person. All we are asking is a chance to be able to lead a normal life that is not ruled by illness or pain, and function at normal levels - therefore creating long-term minimal cost to the Government.
Have you ever had to deal with someone crying all day long? We at OCTV have had to deal with this for too long. We want to discuss the trials on TV yet we get crying all day long. Stand up for your rights sign this petition and strike a blow for your right, to have adults act like adults.
21. End Ostrich Races in Arizona
For thirteen years the city of Chandler has held an annual Chandler Ostrich Festival. For three days, they subject ostriches to various forms of animal abuse including placing hoods over the birds' heads so they are unable to see, removing the hoods by yanking their necks when the birds are to "perform", harnessing large chariots to the birds to pull large children and adults around a racetrack, and placing large children and adults on the birds' backs for riding purposes. During the chariot races, most ostriches wind up disoriented, and crash into each other, as it is not in the bird's nature to be perfoming in this manner.
22. ebskatepark.org
We the residents of East Brunswick believe there is a need to construct a Skatepark in order to give every one (children and adults) who enjoy the sport of Inline Skating, Skateboarding, and organized Roller Hockey a safe location and facility to do so. Neighboring towns have constructed skating facilities, or have them under study for future construction. We believe East Brunswick needs to do the same. Rollerblade sports should be given the same consideration baseball, soccer, and baseball receive. The construction of a Skatepark is an important step.
