1. Support Scenic Rim Adventure Park Material Change of Use Application

Public Notification Period for the petition is from 24 January to 8 March 2013, please ensure you sign within this period. Thanks.

Scenic Rim Adventure Park now operates its 4WD and Camping business on site 636 Tamrookum Creek Road, Innisplian QLD 4285. Only a small portion of the property currently has a zoned section other than rural, therefore Scenic Rim Adventure Park are currently applying for an Impact Assessable Development Application for a Material Change of Use over land located at 636 Tamrookum Creek Road, Innisplain, legally described as Lot 41 W 311658 and Lot 101 WD 602.

Scenic Rim Adventure Park Pty Ltd is a corporation formed under the laws of the State of Queensland, Australia. Scenic Rim Adventure Park has identified family recreation as its primary interest and to that end; the company has focused its efforts on the development of an outdoor adventure park to provide quality family entertainment activities to the communities in the Scenic Rim and the Greater South East Queensland Region.

Quality family recreation in the outdoors is the focus of Scenic Rim Adventure Park. The company's new proposed adventure park site will be designed to provide the type of family entertainment and adventure the current market demands. The Park’s core business will offer four wheel driving, bush walking tracks, children's playground and camping grounds, monthly 4WD challenges, 4WD guided tours and 4WD awareness training courses. Other activities onsite will include abseiling, flying fox, rope course and mountain bike riding.

As part of the Local Government application process, Scenic Rim Adventure Park are required to go through a public notification period. During this period the general public have the opportunity to show support for the application either by writing their own letters of support or by participating in this online petition.

Governments are taking away the rights of recreational four wheel driving in national parks and other public spaces, so if they don't approve and support businesses such as Scenic Rim Adventure Park which a private property dedicated areas for this great recreational past-time, soon there will be no where for recreational four wheel driving.

Please get behind this petition and show your support, also personalised letters showing support would be greatly appreciated also. Just list the lot details above and send your personalised letters to 636 Tamrookum Creek Road Innisplain QLD 4285 or email contact@scenicrimadventurepark.com.au.

3. 2012-13 NKSD Athletics and Activities Committee Recommendation

The Athletics and Activities Committee needs your support of all our athletics and activities. We have had reductions every year for the last five years totaling over $200,000. No other district in the Kitsap Peninsula is looking at further cutting athletics and activities for next year.

If we make additional cuts, we will lose students to surrounding districts at the rate of $6000 per student. Additionally, studies show again and again how lower participation in athletics and activities relates to lower attendance, lower grades and more discipline problems. We have already seen lower participation this year with the increased participation fees. The AAC is recommending no cuts or fee increases to activities and athletics in our district for next year.

We need your e-mailed testimonies to the school board detailing the importance of athletics and activities to you and your families.

Thank you for your support.

4. Oasis centre for Young people, Ellesmere Port, Junior club 8-12 year olds: SAVE OUR CENTRE

Oasis Centre For Young People, (previously know as 'The Boys Club') has been in existence since 1965. It is a very well used club that over the years has opened its doors to lots and lots of young people offering a safe and enjoyable place to meet and be supervised, whilst taking part in a wide programme of activities.

Lots of different groups still use the Centre today and without it we would not be able to continue.

5. Hands off our West Common

The West Common in Lincoln is under threat. There are plans to turn the West Common into a racecourse. The racecourse would go all around the perimeter of the West Common, accompanied by a tarmac road two cars wide, an 8 feet fence, 100 stables, buildings to support racing, and also parking and viewing facilities.

The impact of a racecourse would have a severely negative impact on the existing wildlife, the availability of green open space in the city of Lincoln, on free access to common land, on the responsible activities the West Common is used for, and on the traffic conditions in and around Lincoln (a major artery into the city – the A57 – would have to closed on racing days).

The West Common community group would like to invite you to sign our petition against a racecourse on common land.

On our previous petition website we had more than 650 signatures. Regrettably we had to take down that website, due to i being no longer accessible. If you see the counter on this website, please add up 657 signatures; this gives you the true number of all people who have signed up.

Please also have a look at our website www.handsoffourcommon.co.uk for more information.

6. Review Club Hours for the youth of the LeoGoodwin Foundation Teen Center

Changing club hours would be beneficial for the youth of the LeoGoodwin Foundation Teen Center. at this moment the club is open at 3pm on schools days , but on Non-school days its open from 9am to 5pm. The teens that attend this center start arriving btween 11am to Noon. As we all know most teenagers don't wakeup early in the morning.

This brings the benefit of having the club Hours changed to either 11am to 8:30pm or 11:30 to 9pm, the teens would be able to spend more quality time at the club and interact with more activities during the summer and on non-school days.

9. Enriched activities (QUEBEC CITIZENS ONLY)

In September 2006, the government of Quebec took a position re. the interpretation of the «Loi sur les services de garde éducatifs à l’enfance» that to their knowledge is incorrect so as to prevent parents from making a voluntary contribution to offer enriched extra-curricular programs, services and activities to their child.

The purpose of this petition is to provide Quebec citizens with the opportunity to :

Ask the Quebec government to respect the right of daycares to offer, and parents to request/purchase, optional enriched extra-curricular programs, services and activities.

12. Flexible Work For All

Prior to January 1, 2007, Garden Ridge and some of the other units were operating Monday through Friday and weekend working schedules. The Units were operating with less staff, salaries were less and overtime for pay for staff was limited.

As regard to weekend staff, staff was able to provide more community activities for the residents and because of these activities residents were contented.

At the present time, as a result of changing to patterns, excessive overtime for pay is prevailing, more employees are quitting their positions, absenteeism now exists and in due time all this will directly affect the residents.

16. Verification of the right to engage in naked outdoor activities

Update: December 30, 2005

Although this petition was submitted to the appropriate EEC department (of petitions) on 2005-12-29, with a total of over 589 signatures, you may still sign as an ongoing declaration of intent - see http://www.nakedeurope.org/petition/ for more info.

.....................................................

Verification of the right to engage in naked outdoor activities.

Although technically legal in most countries in Europe, people engaging in naked outdoor activities are often taken to task by the police and/or the justice (?) system itself. Let me say that again: simply being naked in a public place is not a priori illegal, but it is treated as such by many. There are many cases where people will even be prosecuted under a law with the suitably vague title of 'behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace', which might cover any number of circumstances. Another typical catch-all alternative is 'indecent exposure', which is equally guaranteed to have different meanings depending on context.

Nudism is a belief system, built around the basic tenet that people of all ages, races and creed, have a right to be naked and to engage in peaceful activity with no regard to their shape, size, colour or wealth. Additionally, nudism believes that clothes are not a necessary prerequisite of the human condition, but an add-on. This is in direct contrast to the media passion for using the naked form for commercial gain and the repeated implied suggestion, to the majority of the population, that there is something to be ashamed of in their own body by the inevitably one-sided comparison, and which therefore should be covered up in socio-economic labeling textiles.

The saying: "Clothes maketh the man" is a truism which it is possible to challenge. This petition is saying it should not be necessary to cover your body with cloth to be approved of by society, and that society should explictly allow different belief systems to coexist in the same (open air) sphere and not be permanently stuck in a bucket of textile prejudice.

Modern nudism is about people engaging in naked activities, around the world,
as both a personal statement of freedom and as a stand against the pervasive and dubious use of the naked body in (all forms of) the media.

These people are, or are learning to be, proud of their naked bodies and are celebrating this natural freedom by being naked in nature. Modern nudism is bringing the naked out of the closet, out from behind closed, secretive places and special camps, to the great outdoors. This petition has been amended to include a mention of the intention that being naked outdoors is expected to be at a suitable distance from population centres. This petition is aimed at hills, mountains, lakes, seas, forests, woods, fields, etc. - outdoors.

Being naked is not illegal, although many people continue to think it is. This petition is aimed at securing the explicit written confirmation of the right to be naked in the outdoor environment, and to engage in healthy and harmless, sports and activities, without interference, obstruction, discrimination or harassment. This petition is urging all people to canvas their representatives on behalf of their right to be naked outdoors, and for those representatives to act on this petition and to amend the legal system appropriately, both in their own countries and at the European Union level.

Article II-70 of the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe, (Freedom of thought, conscience and religion), due to have been ratified in 2005 may have confirmed this. Again, this would have been an interpretation, and not an absolute recognition of the situation, which is why it is still deemed important that this existing right should be explicitly enshrined in the European Treaty.

17. Re-Establish Ninth Period at Anthony Rossi Intermediate School

Anthony Rossi Intermediate School formerly had a ninth period, until higher officials decided to remove this "superfluous" period (as referred to by some faculty) for the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 school years. Ninth period provided forty (40) minutes to students to work on homework, go outside, visit the library, study, assemble for school clubs, and participate in other educational and non-academic activities.

The removal of ninth period resulted in an addition of five (5) minutes to each period. Since the elimination of ninth period, it is becoming harder and harder for pupils of this school -

* to visit the library (which includes borrowing books and other media for required Accelerated Reader tests, taking the tests, use reference books at the library to aid them in their school work, and other library related activities)

* to get together in groups for school clubs (which includes all clubs at Rossi Intermediate school that would like to meet during ninth period in order to (a) have more time for their club meetings [ninth period and after school] and (b) meet during ninth period so the instructor(s) and student(s) don't have to stay after school, reducing the amount of students on the activity bus, and possibly reducing the number of missed busses,

* to study (this is especially true with multiple student studying, which has been proven to be more effective), work on group projects, and partake in other activities normally available during ninth period. Presently, the current period schedule provides less than twenty (20) minutes to complete all of these activities (mathematical equation: one period = 40 minutes, silent reading is ½ of the lunch/silent reading period, minus two minutes for the bell change. So, (45 x .5)-2 is 20 [rounded from 20.1], then you must take into consideration extra time to get a pass written, walk down to the library, walk back from the library and other lag time due to the shortness of silent reading), that's only if you can get a pass, seeing that only three students may be permitted a pass to the library at any given time.

18. Discontinue unlawful customs and excise restrictions on EU travellers

The stopping of people bringing goods such as tobacco and alcohol into UK from another member state of the European Union is contrary to European law but the government are refusing to comply. As a result thousands of people are having goods and vehicles unlawfully ceased at ports and airports throughout UK every year, and if any of them try to appeal against the decision customs and excise, as an act of revenge are prosecuting them even though they have broken no laws. The result of this is that many people end up paying heavy fines or even end up in prison.

20. Cut ties with Northern Ireland now

Most people in the island of Britain want the north of Ireland to be reunited with the 26 counties.
This has been the case for over 30 years. The continuing governance over 6 Irish counties has cost the people of England, Scotland and Wales many lives, civilian and military, billions of pounds of taxes which would be better spent on education, health and welfare, and tarnished the name of these countries across the world.
We call for citizens of Britain to demand that 'northern Ireland' be reunited with the rest of Ireland, and allow the Irish people to follow their own path of self-determination.

We disown the activities of so-called 'loyalists' as being petty, backward and selfish. The activities of 'unionist' MPs throughout the 1980s in supporting the activities of the Thatcher government led to untold hardships in working class communities on this island.

We say end the 'link' now.
