Wynchurch Road to be gritted in severe weather conditions
- Target:
- Roads Service - Department for Regional Development
- Region:
- United Kingdom
Wynchurch Road is a main access to 4 schools - Knockbreda Primary School, Knockbreda Nursery School, Knockbreda High School and St. Bernard's Primary School. The approach to the schools is quite steep, and due to the limited access and the volume of traffic during the morning rush hour, the road becomes very busy and as a result is extremely dangerous in severe weather conditions.
Despite the obvious need for gritting, Wynchurch Road is not serviced by Road Service gritters, and it is of major concern that it is only a matter of time before there is an accident or someone is hurt.
Despite numerous attempts by teachers, parents and local residents to have the situation addressed by Road Service, the problem remains.
As concerned staff, parents and local residents, we request that Road Service of Northern Ireland include Wynchurch Road on its planned route for gritting during periods of severe weather conditions.
