As per the letter sent out by the CBE on March 4th our school will be transitioning to a K-4 school, starting in the 2015 school years.
This decision not only contradicts the Guiding Principles for Accommodation Planning as outlined by the CBE but also their core values.
It is our goal to appeal this decision and have them re-evaluate keeping West Springs School K-6 until a middle school can be built.
As our appeal must be submitted within 5 business days, please ensure you sign the petition prior to Monday, March 10th.
Update: As our appeal to the CBE Area IV office was denied we are now proceeding with a formal appeal to the chief superintendent. This petition will be delivered on April 1st, 2014.
We wish to formally appeal the decision made by the CBE as announced on March 4th, transitioning West Springs School to a K-4 school.
We feel this decision needs to be re-evaluated and the school needs to be kept K-6 for the reasons as set forth in the attached letter.
