1. The teachers get to catch up on grading;
2. Since the teachers have that time to catch up, they are less stressed, therefore making them nicer to the students.
3. The students get time to catch up on homework and projects that normally would keep them up half the night, which means they'll be more awake for class the next day so they can actually learn.
4. Half days give students something to look forward to, which generally puts them in a better mood, helping to put the staff in a better mood.
5. Those students who don't have homework, or simply won't do their homework no matter what you do have time to be with their friends. that may not sound to important to an adult but to us kids it means a lot.
Our friends are our life line and some of us have no time to spend with them except on holidays and half days.
We, the students of Indiana, Want our half-days back.
