Vanguard: Divest from Companies that Help Fund the Darfur Genocide

I ASK Vanguard, Fidelity, JP Morgan Chase, Capital Group/American Funds and Franklin Templeton investment firms to DIVEST FROM COMPANIES THAT HELP FUND THE DARFUR GENOCIDE!

• Vanguard and the other above-named funds are the US based mutual fund companies with largest holdings of PetroChina, a Chinese oil company. PetroChina, through its parent company, CNPA, is one of the largest revenue sources of Sudan’s Government, thereby helping to fund the genocide in Darfur.

• In addition to PetroChina, other companies helping to fund the genocide include Alstrom (France), ONGC (India), Petronas (Malaysia)

• As many as 400,000 men, women and children have died as a result of the Sudanese government’s brutal campaign, and millions have fled their homes. Divestment is a proven effective strategy that helps build economic pressure for the swift end of the genocide.
