The IB Programme is known for being a rigorous yet rewarding program.
A key part of ensuring a successful, effective learning environment is having good communication and cooperation between teachers and students.
This kind of environment can benefit with the existence of a student council.
This is a petition to create an IB Student Council at G-Star. The purpose is to encourage communication between students and teachers to improve the experience and environment of the IB Programme for students and teachers alike.
There would be five to seven representatives who would be voted in by IB Diploma students. We would have meetings where we discuss issues we are having and possible solutions, which we would then present to teachers with the intent to resolve them and create an environment where IB students can thrive.
This would give students a representative voice to seek solutions to collective problems. If this is a success, I believe this would not only help our current class, but this would help future IB students and the IB Programme itself.
The council can also serve as a coordinating group for clubs and activities.
