Popular daytime program The View is undergoing major changes. Show creator & iconic journalist Barbara Walters retired earlier this year; Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd announced their departure from the show. The show is on the hunt to fill those slots.

In recent television history, the majority of talk show hosts have often been well-known personalities. But this is America, the Land of Opportunities! Americans love the underdog, the person who seemingly comes from nowhere, the ten-year “overnight success.”

Tracee Loran has an intriguing story that would resonate with many women and men. She has held many jobs in the entertainment field: reporter/host (ESPN); writer (HBO); commercial pitch woman (FedEx, AT&T, Arby’s, to name a few); stand-up comedian (Caroline’s, Stand-Up New York & Gotham). But it’s the quirky jobs outside of showbiz that have molded her and created such a compelling story. She once stood in front of Grand Central Terminal hocking products in a wedding dress, she’s shucked corn in the middle of Brooklyn, she’s written a book about shucking corn in the middle of Brooklyn, she’s conceptualized and operated a beachfront restaurant in Brooklyn; she’s been a scavenger hunt host, a Who Wants to Be a Millionaire lifeline, a waitress (of course!), youth mentor (still is), a Recycling Engineer (fancy title for separating the reusable junk from the junk junk), and so much more!

She has her real estate license, her food handler’s license, and she’s an official fire warden. So this means she can sell you a house, cook a dinner in your new house, and help to put out a fire that MAY erupt from her incendiary cooking.

She’s been poor; she’s been very comfortable. She’s been confident and she’s been humbled. She knows a lot about sports, pop culture, politics and she has a point of view about EVERYTHING! Though she may seem to have a particular point of "View" she'll turn right when you think she'll go left and she'll present a fresh take on things. She deserves a shot to sit at the desk.

We, the undersigned, petition ABC and producers of The View to grant Former ESPN Reporter Tracee Loran an interview/audition for the popular daytime program.

We understand the desire to hire personalities who have been more visible. But this is America, where the underdog can thrive! Tracee has a great story that would resonate with so many women and men of all backgrounds. She’s tenacious; she is strongly dogmatic; and she’s the perfect balance of funny, silly, quick-witted and serious.

It would be easy to NOT take a chance on giving an unknown person a chance to audition. But Walt Disney didn’t become Walt Disney without taking risks; ABC didn’t become ABC by always playing it safe. Tracee deserves an interview/audition. It would be an inspiration to everyone who has a dream that seems unattainable.

Check out her website at http://traceeloran.com then do something radical – call a virtual “unknown” in for a meeting.

Respectfully,
Supporters of the Underdog
